Description: Yet another map with base image created in the Age of Mythology editor and some additions and modifications in GIMP.

462 provinces, 416 of these are land and 46 are under water.
Suitable for 21 land and 3 water players.
Map Version: 3.01

Also included in the attached zip file is a SemiRandomized version of the map file.
SR Description: This is a SemiRandomized map. It has 462 provinces: 416 land, 46 sea, 21 land starts, 3 sea starts, 21 open land starts, 3 open sea starts, 0 custom AI gods.

Author's Note:
The map is rather large and much effort has been made to catch those ever irritating mislabeled provinces &amp; missed connections so if you spot any problem provinces, please point them out so that I can correct them.

I really like what you've done with the small islands and the caves. But it would be even cooler if the caves was linked to a small underground network and maybe a subterranean city or two.

Even though I tend to be reticent in posting appreciation, Modders/Cartographers deserve kudos for both effort and for great results, and you've managed both.

Nice job, hope to see more.

Thank you very much for all of the positive feedback guys. I start out making the maps for my own use, but sharing them with the community and being well received like this makes it very rewarding.

I play often on your precedent work, AomOrc and enjoy it a lot !

Keep going on this way if you can manage time for.

Maps are really what this community need, IMHO. I wanted to make some, but I lack personnal time http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
The random creation is not bad, but less readable (graphically speaking) and less fun, because maps designers often create some special surprises / concepts / history within the map (I'm thinking about the Antilarium, among others) and only human mind can really be effective at this.

"Discovered" this map today for some friendly long-term MP game .. and while it looks great over all etc., some things seem slightly odd to me:

- are those fishnets at the river mouths? Some look like rope bridges, and, actually, it would make some sense to have more than 1 possiblity to cross those rivers?!

- I'm really missing some way to get to the other side of the map: basically, everyone seems to be sitting on the outer side of the circle, with 2 or 3 neighbours to fight with, and absolutely no way to influence what happens on the other side of the world.
Some ports or gates would come in handy ...

But don't get me wrong, it's a great map (in every sense ;) ) ... thanks for the enormous amount of work that must have gone into it !!
