How long one can stay alive with infection?
 

who has the record, and under what conditions?

My Enlil the Ancient Lord has gone a long way with infection, but his HP's are still in tap. He has got these afflictions so far:
* diseased (would not guess)
* lost his only eye (cant fight)
* weakened
* chest wound
* battle fright
* lost an arm

now he is just a source of inspiration for all those who are marching after him. And still he dreams to carry a sword again, one day!

What are my chances to make his wish come true? I can use Grail, but what else? Gift of health? What healers indies have?

also, does he die if his HP's ain't gonna drop?

If you have regen, indefinitely. There are some pretty damned impressive records of units with affliction lists as long as your arm. The one that takes the cake is a soulless prophet from one Dom2 test game that achieved true immortality due to some fluke. That unit could not get killed no matter what, but kept on accumulating afflictions.

Also, you can get yourself killed - you lose more magic pics but can lose afflictions as well... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

*Unless you do something nifty, like retreat with no provinces available.

I'm very glad that the nations in Dom3 have signed up for disability rights, and still allow the awesomely maimed to serve their nation just like the healthy.

I wonder, has anyone ever gotten a unit that's stayed alive long enough to get every affliction in the game?

And, err, I'd contribute a picture, but I've never gotten around to getting a unit with a very large list of afflictions. I think the largest I've ever had was ~6, on a dead Prince of Death.
