Hello looking for players to join the "era 1 game bl_episodes on port 8799" @ http://game.dom3minions.com/bin/blitz_chk.cgi

read "how to join a game" if u need help.

im a MP newb so other newbs are more than welcome ^^

edit: a minimum of 3 players would be welcome. if a fourth joins half way soon then even beter

wow i just noticed that gandalfs opened some cbm servers.

well i feel pretty stupid about this but i just heard my internet connection will be down for about a week starting today or tommorow... so this canceled. better now than later though i guess

it would be cool if somebody else could test the server for gandalf though

ok after all that and 4 posts in a row (sorry bout that) i DID get my internet up a lot faster then expected and a game can start whenever somebody joins

OK, I'll join with Yomi if you don't mind irregular turns from time to time.

Just tell me, and leave me 1-2 days to install CBM and build my pretender.

Are there any other volunteers to reach 4 ?

yeah i dont care about irregular turns at all. thats what i like about the server.

if we happen to be on at the same time: good it goes faster. if not? well its still at least 1 turn per day.

just join the game whenever ur ready and we'll play from then on or can wait a while to see if somebody else joins

A few questions about CBM :

- where do you load it ? I tried here but the attachment link leads to a white page with the text "Redirecting" - tried with both Firefox & Opera...

- is it fully compatible with 3.17 ?

just unzip the files and put them in your mod folder. then turn on the mod in the options menu.

Hmmm, I'm afraid I've been a bit optimistic about my free time for the weeks to come... I'm going to withdraw from this game and wait a little before starting a new one, that's better than taking the risk of stales or delays. Sorry for that. Have fun, guys !

Erm, lads, bit of a problem (which I put down tentatively to my newbishness)

I connected to the game just then, uploaded a pretender, then re-entered and started the game. I didn't see any other players there, but thought that might be normal so I entered the game and played my first turn. I didn't see any other pretender gods in the info screens and got a little worried, and, sure enough, I was able to play the next turn and I was declared the winner (and also had a rather nice +1500 gold event btw http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif ).

My first MP game ending in comprehensive victory, I'm so happy! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

But really, what happened?

Ah, both times that I've uploaded my pretender God I've reached the screen with a list of all nation names and I've clicked Caelum (my race). This time after doing this I tried to click disconnect, but whenever I scroll the window down to do this (because the long list means the option doesn't show up straight away), I get about 1 second before it automatically scrolls back up to the top. This means it is very difficult to click disconnect to get out, or even read what the options do (I get a second of mouse-over time before it refreshes/scrolls back up automatically).

Anyway, the counter at the top timed out and the game attempted to send me the first turn. I deliberately entered an incorrect password (twice in a row) to avoid a second game stuff up in a row, at which point I was disconnected automatically.

Gandalf, any idea what might be causing this?
