Farewell cruel world
1 Attachment(s)
I know I haven't been around lately (mostly due to now fixed internet [fixed by going from cable to ADSL :S]), but now I have to tell you all that I'm going away. (To join the military! [which is mandatory])
So you won't be seeing much of me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif I've attached to this post the source code for my very incomplete map generator and border drawing programs, just in case someone is interested (I promised I will publish them). You'll need Allegro 4.2.2 to compile them. (check out allegro.cc) So good bye everybody, maybe I'll catch you in some odd free weekend, or maybe if I get some free time during the actual service (the next few months are Tironut, but during the following 3 years I might have constant internet access [though not much time to play around with it]). |
Re: Farewell cruel world
Take care of yourself Agrajag!
We'll just hang out here until you return. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Farewell cruel world
Good luck! Three years is a lengthy time.
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
Ugh sorry to hear that agrajag. Good luck!
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
Best wishes Agrajag, I hope you keep safe. Come back and find us when you're free once more!
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
Farewell Agrajag in your service. May you pass it swiftly.
You probably know there are types of service that resemble office 9-17 work, right?- Maybe your service will be like that and you'll be able to show some more here http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Farewell cruel world
Farewell Agrejag, may you pass on swiftly. We'll be at the service.
or something like that |

Re: Farewell cruel world
Enjoy Tironut.
Know what you're going to do? Have you undergone exams and such to get into elite units/jobs? or had anything interesting in the manilla? As for free time, if you're gonna be a jobnik you'll have free time. I do, and I've been at the IDF for the past 5 years http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif (actually http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif ) |
Re: Farewell cruel world
Sorry to see you go. The generator was looking interesting.
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
Good luck!
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
Thanks everyone http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

EDIT: The generator isn't really dead until I say so, it's just on a considerable hiatus http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Farewell cruel world
I would think that as a Lt. Colonel you'd have some choice of assignment. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Farewell cruel world
word on the street is that idf girls are the hottest in the forces

Re: Farewell cruel world
I was almost swept away by the general mood and nearly asked you what changes you want to see when you get back. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Good luck anyway ! |
Re: Farewell cruel world
All that military exercise sure makes some fine looking gals!
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
If you were in the US, I'd say thanks for serving so guys like me can drink beer and watch porn, but I'm not sure it applies. All the same, be safe and maybe update your wardrobe!

Re: Farewell cruel world
Learn some kickass Krav Maga dude!! Best martial art ever.
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
Hope tironut isn't too bad, hope you have some time to join us after you're done. How long is tironut? 3 months or so?
What division, if you already know? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Farewell cruel world
Good luck, be safe, and come back.
We'll all miss you ... See you soon, Agrajag. |
Re: Farewell cruel world
Whatever you do, don't enlist as a pikeman!
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
Good luck. Hope you manage to snag one of those nice desk jobs so you can come back and finish your map generator for us!
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
Yeah, and be careful with SCs. Better to come back later with a bombardier to Gift of Heaven them to oblivion ^^
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
Say hi to the Zohan for us.
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
So no chance of being a jobnik who daily goes home (except when there are other guards duties and such)?
Anyway, idf girls are not that hot. Problem is that they tend to wear uniform, cloth designed to oppose any notion of sexuality. Although I have seen some pretty nice gals, but like I said, they all look better on civilian cloths! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif |
Re: Farewell cruel world
I think I have a solid idea where a gifted random generator developer, who has passed some tests for some possible elite unit in the army may serve http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif - Might be I served some aeons in the past in a similar unit...
Then again, it was so long ago I may have just passed the three years of service idling about in some 9-17 work, day dreaming of my next MOM moves and running stracraft LAN parties on weekends when I had to stay at base http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif |
Re: Farewell cruel world
Um, Tpek. Women in uniform are the hotness. Especially if they're trained to kill you.
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
Nooooo. They're trained to kill the Chinese assassins that are trained to kill you.
But in order to do so properly, they need very powerful thighs. Don't ask me why. |
Re: Farewell cruel world
Yes, very powerful, very...flexible thighs.
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
I think it is important to note that the chinese assassins are also hot.
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
Let's just all agree that most female assassins would indeed be quite hot, by definition.
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
http://kuiliu.wordpress.com/2008/06/...male-officers/
Female soldiers from around the world. There's even a Swedish one for Johan and Kristoffer http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif |
Re: Farewell cruel world
So..... your second job is as an army recruiter, Badger? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif Cause you're making some sales here today I think. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif Only, I want to join the Chinese army - no, wait..... oh how could you do this to me, emotion and logic clashing in an epic battle!

Re: Farewell cruel world
Those iranian soldiers are scary. Very ninja. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
No, I just want to make it clear to all the women warriors out there that I'm not the enemy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif
|
Re: Farewell cruel world
I can say with this with unwavering certainty. That is the most adorable Swedish soldier I've ever seen.
Do they make bulletproof burkhas? Perhaps if I get some venture capital together I can corner that market... |
Re: Farewell cruel world
Sure, she *looks* cute, but notice they're not showing her hands? The hands holding the minigun?
And the next picture down-that Ukranian's hair is clearly a deadly weapon. Don't let their babealiciousness fool you, people! They're trained to kill. |
Re: Farewell cruel world
These girls are not trained to kill.
They're obviously non-combat duty (which is btw the default for girls, girls have to specifically ask to get into actual combat units). I could kill them by just telling them the sheqem (sort of a discounted store in military bases for purchasing things such as food, drinks, sweets, and such...) is permenantly closed and they will now have to pass their days actually working. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif Wraithlord: When did you serve? (you make it sound so long ago) and where? (You imply you served in a software unit, however you also said you only served 3 years... so...) |
Re: Farewell cruel world
I'm pretty sure they still train them, Tpek. And anyway, if you didn't happen to notice, these are soldiers from around the world, so I'm thinking they could be trained to kill you with food, drinks, sweets, or whatever else came to hand, and you wouldn't be any the wiser until your head fell off.

And in a few of these, for example the Chinese and Korean ladies, they sure look like they mean business (not to discount the Iranian lasses, they just scare me). Granted, in the snowy Ukrainian photo, they look like they're giggling, but women giggle to get you off your guard, trust me. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif |
Re: Farewell cruel world
South Korea even has an elite special forces unit with a small number of female operatives, and they are apparently pretty bad-***, seeing as how they train with Delta Force and SAS, among other elite units.

You'll never find a more appropriate moment of the discussion to say "Make Love Not War" than now ^_^

Of course today those academic officers have very hard time getting out of the army before the 6 year period ends. I certainly know some who've been trying for years http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif Anyway, I'm not saying that all girls in the army are always harmless (just mostly harmless http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif). But that most girls are. Most of the females in world armies serve non-combat roles. There are few women in modern western nations that are capable of being the equal of males in soldiery (they lack physical and psychological characteristics needed for excelling in it). |
Re: Farewell cruel world
Hey, not fair, this old dog had to pay all the way to masters, cost me a [img]/threads/images/Graemlins/icon41.gif[/img], then again four months worth of hi-tech compensation more or less make up for said expenses http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
