Sha Bay - Pretender submission

Hey wanna start a game on my new map. Im a newb so newbs are welcome but since i do want to test my map (more for future reference when i start some new ones) experienced players are also welcome.

Game Type: Small PBEM (LLamaserver)

Speed: 24 hours per host for the first 20 turns moving to 48 hours per host after that if needed.

Quickhost enabled. Staling will get you auto-subbed or AI'd. Find a sub or ask for an extension (as long as its reasonable no prob http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif )

Era: First sign up decides

Players: 4-5

Start: As soon as people upload their pretenders.

Nation Selection: Open. If somebody wants to be a water nation thats fine. there is one start location for water nations on the map. With 1 water nation we'll do 5 players and without one we'll do 4. Now i dont know what the balance on this is period but im even more in the dark when it comes to that water nation so just a heads up ^^ just no late age ermor or r'hley (whatever) for testing purposes

Map: My Map Sha Bay

I do NOT guarantee balance. I see this as just a fun/challenge game and while playing we can test the map for faults.

Victory Conditions: None

Hall of Fame: 10

Renaming: On

Graphs: Off

Everything Else: Defaults

Mods: CBM 1.3

If people want to change settings we can debate it but i have final say ^^ cbm is not changing http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

let me know which nation u want (first sign up picks era).

and thanks to llama for letting me (us) use his awesome server ^^

DakaSha - Helheim

Apsophos August 6th, 2008 07:25 AM

Re: Sha Bay - llamaserver game - 3-4 player signup

Hinnom then? (again?)
In that case, I'll take Pangaea myself.

DakaSha August 6th, 2008 07:27 AM

Re: Sha Bay - llamaserver game - 3-4 player signup

k 1 (or 2) more players

Executor August 6th, 2008 07:31 AM

Re: Sha Bay - llamaserver game - 3-4 player signup

Why are you all so frightened of Hinnom?
They are strong but not invincible, I killed them once with C'tis early on, and I take them only for the magic, but I can change the nation if you all want.

DakaSha August 6th, 2008 07:33 AM

Re: Sha Bay - llamaserver game - 3-4 player signup

no id like the experience against them.
they are really strong because of the starting army that really kicks ***. plus they arnt pushovers period of course. i dont have any experience with them but thats what people in chat say and the game we are playing kinda proves it ^^

but no by all means play them i like challenges

Deadnature August 6th, 2008 07:53 AM

Re: Sha Bay - llamaserver game - 3-4 player signup

put me down for Abysia

DakaSha August 6th, 2008 07:55 AM

Re: Sha Bay - llamaserver game - 3-4 player signup

ok well we have the players then ill pm llama

DakaSha August 6th, 2008 08:16 AM

Re: Sha Bay - llamaserver game - 3-4 player signup

btw since i have an advantage by knowing what exactly is guarding the provinces i advise u to take a look at the map file to see what is there.

ull need the DB to make any sense of it though.

ill give a detailed report if requested

edit: u could also just start a few games with a dragon and fly to the 5 guarded provs to see what exactly is there

DakaSha August 6th, 2008 11:26 PM

Re: Sha Bay - llamaserver game - 3-4 player signup

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

Don't worry Hinnom to the rescue!!!
So that I can kill you...

Executor August 19th, 2008 04:51 PM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

I should be happy that I won this battle considering all the gems and army size you lost, but I seem to have killed more of my troops than you have, much more!!!
The lesson is don't use chariots in large battles...

DakaSha August 19th, 2008 05:08 PM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

ok ive gone AI

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

So... the 3 of us left a?
Who's next?
I vote Pangaea...

Apsophos August 19th, 2008 05:45 PM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

Newbies die first. How suprising.
Learned a bit, too. I'm still learning from the two other games I'm in, see you there, DakaSha.

Deadnature August 20th, 2008 01:59 PM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

I just learned something too:

Amazingly, a blind slayer can still somehow assassinate an Ammi

Executor August 20th, 2008 03:06 PM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

Ah, so abysia has decided that treachery is better suited for them and it is the only way to even remotely win,
but fear not the army's of Hinnom are strong and will withstand any pressure.

Deadnature August 22nd, 2008 09:41 PM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

The Abysians do not have a word for treachery, we shall boil up from beyond the great mountain range and burn all of Hinom with our endless tide of fire.

Executor August 24th, 2008 04:19 PM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

I'm not sure if you staled or sent your turn two minutes before hostng?

Deadnature August 24th, 2008 09:11 PM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

Yeah I staled...really sucks too because we were about to have a major confrontation. Sorry about that, but lets see how it goes from here.

DakaSha August 25th, 2008 12:45 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

u can always roll back

Deadnature August 25th, 2008 03:27 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

True, although since this is my first game its mostly for practice anyway. No need to roll back unless the others players want to.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

BTW Dakasha: The turn after you went AI the mighty Bob awoke in in Helheim only to find it occupied by the hated Abysians. He quickly set about besieging the fort and I had to divert a sizable force to kill him. Next turn Helheim was destroyed completely. I guess you pretender took revenge for you :)

Executor August 25th, 2008 03:52 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

If you knew you'd stale why didn't you delay the game, you are the admin also now, aren't you?

Deadnature August 25th, 2008 03:58 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

I didn't know I would stale, I unexpectedly couldn't send the turn file in. I'm the admin so if you want to roll-back let me know but otherwise I don't care. Sorry about the stale though :(

DakaSha August 25th, 2008 04:43 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

the mighty bob lol

Executor August 25th, 2008 07:39 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

I check the forum frequently, PM me the admin password so this wouldn't happen again, if I see you're gonna stale I'll delay, and in the case that I can't make the turn in time also.

Executor August 25th, 2008 08:27 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

The mighty forces of Hinnom have won yet another battle against Pangaea and our new arch enemy Abysia!

Deadnature August 25th, 2008 10:35 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

The almighty Bolmarc of Abysia maintains that no such defeat occurred, it was in fact a "severe tactical withdrawal"

Executor August 25th, 2008 12:30 PM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

Hmm... even my blind assassins can kill mages, very interesting,
Was kinda looking forward to breaking the siege on my fort, but you took that pleasure away from me, stand still and fight!!!

Deadnature August 25th, 2008 10:02 PM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

Yeah, and I was NOT looking forward to you breaking that siege. Man, The Looming Hell is a killer against a nation like Abysia who has so many battle-mages.

Its weird about the blind-assassins right? Earlier, one of my slayers managed to kill one of your Ammis after being blinded...

Deadnature August 26th, 2008 04:20 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

OMG: Three provinces with three good sites all very close to your capital! Wow, that is nice. The first site I found was a desease-spawning pain in the ***. Of course even without those sites I think you would still be in a good position right now.

Executor August 26th, 2008 07:51 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

I think steel ovens is the best, as you may see from the large number of my very cheap items...
BTW where are you going so far up north???
If you had chosen anyone else but Abysia, you wouldn't stand a chance,
all those fire mages, fire magic and fire gems that aren't used for ANYTHING,
and of course that damn blindness that stops me from sending SC's!!!
But fear not I will kill you.

Deadnature August 26th, 2008 09:34 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

Just raiding; yeah this is one of my first games and the first that I've ever gotten to such a late turn...I guess I really should have gotten some blood magic going.

Executor August 26th, 2008 10:26 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

Why do you keep sending shamblers into MY sea, I'll just keep sending horrors to kick you out.
You're gonna love the next turn...

Executor August 26th, 2008 11:02 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

Bolmarc, the ruler of Abysia has fallen to oblivion and with him shall fall his kingdom and a new era shall begin!
With the Abysian army's scatered around the world, they are forced to push back to defense while the mighty army's of Hinnom who are favored by the gods are pushing them back to the Land of Scytha where they are preparing to make a final stand or maybe yet regrouping to try and force one last hopeless attempt to concur the lands of Shaiar the Lord of this world!!!

Deadnature August 27th, 2008 01:22 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

Our lord has been slain! It is true! But not for want of might; his simple Cyclopean mind was unable to cope with the magic of the hated giants.

IF the Giants dare to enter the Burning Lands then it will become a graveyard for their charred skeletons!

THE MIGHTY BOLMARC SHALL RETURN!!

I'm not dead! (could one of you send me a few hundred gold?)

Come on, that's only two provinces with nobody in them, I'm surprised to have one more turn to play.

Executor August 27th, 2008 08:56 AM

Re: Sha Bay - Pretender submission

I do believe this will be the last turn you send in.

Executor August 27th, 2008 09:23 AM

Well perhaps not...
