Croatian OOB

I’m from Croatia so I’ve been particularly interested in it’s OOB (OOB 60 in SPMBT). I have a list of errors/possible changes if anyone is interested to include it in the future updates…

Errors:

1. Unit 006: AMX-30 tanks are available; Croatia never had or used these tanks

2. Unit 072: APS 95 rifle is available; this project was cancelled and there was no major usage by the Army. Instead, I suggest you put FN FAL or G36 (for use by the special forces). VHS 5.56mm assault rifle, a new rifle, is being developed and tested in Croatia. It should be available for limited use from the second half of 2008
http://image63.webshots.com/463/4/61...0MefrxW_ph.jpg

3. Unit 123 Mi-8/Mi-17 helicopters used by the Air Force were never armed; SPMBT: they are armed with unguided rockets (57mm) and machine guns (12.7mm Dsk), but the icon is shown without the weapon (the way it should be)

4. Unit 130: SA-342L helicopters available; Croatia never had these

5. Units 132 and 133: Mi-24 helicopters are retired as of 2007 (SPMBT: up to 2020); Croatia will not get any new attack helicopters (see Table 1 attached at the bottom)

6. Unit 152: G-4 Super Galeb planes available. Croatia never had these. Few J-1 Jastreb and G-2 Galeb planes were captured in Aug 1995 and entered into service, but were retired shortly after

7. Unit 130: SA-342L helicopters available; Croatia never had these

8. Units 211, 213 and 214 Infantry AT: instead of M-90 used in the game, Croatia has it’s own version RL90 M95, essentially a copy of M79

9. Unit 223: Milan ATGMs available in the game until 2020. I believe very limited number of Milans were used during the war 1991-1995, but there are no Milans from 2006 onwards, at least (see Table 2 attached at the bottom)

10. Unit 451: SA10a Favorit SAM system: parts of this system were purchased and showcased in 1995, just before the final offensive actions in the war. However, it was never operational. There are no plans to purchase long range SAMs at this point. (see Table 1 and Table 2 attached at the bottom)

New weapons:

1. Croatia has METIS ATGMs which are not available in the game (see Table 2 attached at the bottom)

2. New Iveco LMVs were bought for our forces in Afghanistan, I believe during 2007
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...Ivecohvxz7.jpg

3. Croatia did buy new Mi-171Sh from Russia (first helicopters arrived in November 2007) which are armed with unguided rockets (57mm) and door guns (7.62mm)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...esentation.jpg

Future considerations:

1. Wheeled APCs: Finnish Patria 8x8 has won this job and the first vehicles are set to be delivered before the end of 2008. Unfortunately, the only word of the armament on Patria’s so far is 12.7mm machine gun. It is expected that Patrias are also going to be equipped with ATGMs, but no further news on that.

Thanks.

Just a quick note: few items mentioned above that are listed as available, but in reality weren't, were in fact used by Yugoslav People's Army (e.g. G-4 Super Galeb, SA-342L) during the Balkan wars. So I guess it's a honest mistake to think that some of these were used by Croatia as well.

Is there someone here who is willing to work on the updates of the Croatian OOB? I'm not familiar with all the game tools, but I'm willing to spend some time and post all the info I know with the internet sources and photos available.

Here, it's been awhile, but PlasmaKrab and myself came up with the updated OOB. I have to say, Plasma has done pretty much all the work while I've tried to come up with as much info as possible.

Enjoy

Re: Croatian OOB

.......and I deleted the attachement because the new Icon was put in a slot already being used by three other units in two other OOB's that wasn't even remotely related to the M-84.

Given that there are the HUNDREDS of open Icon slots available replacing an Icon that's already being used in the game for an entirley different purpose isn't very smart and I will not allow it to be DL'd when it will screw up players existing game

Here is the fixed version, and an updated OOB for Croatia

I also included the original Icon0042.shp which was incorrect, due to my error. So all of you who downloaded the previous version, should download this, because it fixes the little mess up i made, and it includes new thing. I also included the winter icon for M-84D and updated the formations in Croatia's OOB and these are:

- Croatia doesn't use the T-55 anymore, only for target practice.

- All of croatias M-84 tanks have been updated to M-84A4 Sniper standard in 2009.

- All of croatias M-84A4 Snipers are to be upgraded to M-84D standard till 2012

- Formations were wrong because if u played against AI hes tanks on the field would be 70% T-55 in 2015

- An update to the M-84D MBT, i found out it can fire and is equipped with LAHAT ATGM [1]

WARNING: Don't forget to load the custom Croatia OOB (Obat60), or you will have problems

I have a question, is it possible to include this stuff in the new update?
If you need verification of the data, i can gladly help you... besides, i made a new map of northern Croatia (More detailed, Mala Subotica, a county in northern Croatia). Its for fictional scenarios, but i think its very interesting... its hard to defend, and its hard to conquer... so if you like it...

Re: Croatian OOB

its already uploaded at the MAP thread in "Campaigns, Scenarios & Maps" section... Just search for "Mala Subotica & Palovec, Croatia 2010. 60x75"

Just unzip into your WinSPMBT folder

here is the link:

Re: Croatian OOB

My new possible project:

Mihovljan, Senkovec and northern part of Čakovec

(I marked the place where we drink with a red dot, so there has to be the headquarters :p)

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7861/mihovljane.jpg

Maybe later i can make Vukovar, for the 1991 scenario against Yugoslavia, but what do you think...
In my opinion, i think this would be a little bit awkward.

Re: Croatian OOB

This has nothing to do whatsoever with the OOB for Croatia. Therefore it is off-topic for the OOB forum and completely off topic for this thread!.

Please post such in the proper forum - the Scenarios and maps one.

If you want to post a new thread on your map development there - then please feel free to do so. (The sticky thread for maps there is for completed maps).

But not here in the OOB forum.

Cheers
Andy

well, with the new update, we also have new pictures of M-84D and M-95 and they look AWESOME!!! THX GUYS :D
And in the next few days i will try to update the Croatian and Yugoslav OOBs. They have small graphic errors. Expect the update in few days. I will add few pictures and change the icons of some units, add some weapons (Like the VHS rifle) etc.

Noticed a few errors in Croatian OOB

Things that need to be changed:

1. I updated the ranks Croatia currently uses, and also, i changed the Croatian name list, to some more common names in Croatia

2. The new VHS rifle is entering service slowly, and the old M-70s are being replaced by the VHS

3. The G-2 Galeb needs a new icon and .lbm picture, also... croatia captured 2 "J-1 Jastreb" durring the Operation storm, and they were in inventory from 1995-1997
A picture of a captured J-21 Jastreb that was used later:
http://www.mycity-military.com/slika...19_Jastreb.JPG

4. The LOV SAM should to be renamed to "S-10CRO A1"

5. Replace the "BM-21 Grad" with "APR-40". We bought those from romania, not the soviet made BM-21

6.add the "M91 Vulkan" Its basicaly a "M-77 Oganj" truck but with 122mm rockets not the 128mm

7. Since 2009, no T-55 are in active service, most of them are in reserve, scraped or used for target practice

Here is a link to a Wikipedia article which shows the modernization plans and current equipment of the Croatian ground forces.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croatian_Ground_Army

DRG September 23rd, 2011 12:03 AM

Re: Croatian OOB

If they are in reserve they are still capable of being used. The game does not simulate an average day. It simulates a war situation and tanks in reserve would be available. Scraped or targets obviously don't apply but anything in reserve that is not slated for scrap or targets, does

Wolf_Warrior September 23rd, 2011 06:35 AM

Re: Croatian OOB

They were put in reserve in 2006, but since 2009 they are off the list. Not enough money to maintain those old tanks...

DRG September 23rd, 2011 02:19 PM

OK
