Wish for a Demon Lord

I have no blood units but now have access to 'wish'. How do I wish for a demon lord? I tried wishing for 'Buer', 'demon lord' and 'Belphegor'. I keep receiving the message stating that I can't wish for that.

How do I wish for a Demon Lord?

I did manage to wish for Heliophagus, but want a leader.

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

GoR your Heliophagus, you will have a leader. You will have Mastema (though he will bear another name, because of GoR, but you can rename it), since he is the Heliophagus he have the lower id# number.

Or, if you want Buer, try to wish for a "Goat Sun" (it's the real name of Buer type of unit, not demon lord), and GoR it...

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

"Goat Sun" and GoR

I'll try it.

Thank you.

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

You should wish for Lord of Corruption (Belial), Lord of Hell (Belphegor), Goat Sun (Buer), Lord of the Plague Wind (Pazuzu). They will all appear as non-commanders and you need to GoR them.

Once you wish for the first one, it's better to wish for blood slaves and summon the others. You will summon them as commanders and wishing for blood slaves gives you 250 girls.

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

Are the demon lords worth wishing for? A good use of a Wish?

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

If you want a SC then not. If you want them for their magic paths, stealth, or some other ability (automatic heat from hell, seducing commanders) they might be.

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

I think they can be, expecially for the magic diversity they give, and if you can have a use for their... let's say particular traits.

Edit: Psycho is fast ^_^

Psycho. Thanks for the efficiency tip:

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

Belphegor also generates blood slaves automatically, so I would wish for him first.

He's the premier Blood caster in the game since he can follow an army and cast blood magic without having to stop to hunt or transfer blood slaves.

This is totally untrue.

With the exception of the Goat Sun, all the Demon Lords make awesome SCs courtesy of thier high HPs, high MR, extremely strong magic, and built in flying. Psycho must not like them since they dont have full slots - but the thing is that thier magic is so strong that they can more than make up for a single lost slot with buffs of thier own.

Psycho September 18th, 2008 01:22 AM

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

I didn't mean to say that they can't be good SCs, just that seraphs and chayots are much better ones, so you will wish for one of those rather than the demon lord if you want a SC.

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

What happens if you wish for someone elses Demon Lord? Do you get it? And do you get its stuff? If so by depriving your enemy of a powerful SC and giving it to yourself you may be gaining more than if you wished for a Seraph even though that is probably a better SC.

K September 18th, 2008 02:32 AM

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

The thing to remember is that the Demon Lords are all endowed with special powers, and as such they all have a weird niche uses.

Take the Lord of the Plague Wind. He walks into battle with a free Storm, and he's immune to it. He has a very high Precision, but he doesn't have a head so you can pop in an Eye of Aiming and it just raises another eight points.

Essentially, if you need to toss down a Hellbind Heart or a Thunder Strike that won't miss, then this is go to guy. If you need a flying strike-force SC who can survive a Wrathful Skies and enemy evokers and still wail on enemies then he's the one.

Add that kind of utility to the fact that each demon lord is a peice of rainbow and opens new magics and summons, they are big noise.

Yes, and yes. It's crazy fun.

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

Actually no, you don't get it. You teleport it to the province of your caster. But you can still kill it that way and at least deprive your enemy of it.

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

Or Enslave, Charm or Hellbind it.

Tricky if it's decked out with SC MR gear, but doable.

Tifone September 18th, 2008 02:16 PM

Re: Wish for a Demon Lord

It would be fun if even when you wish for an artifact already in use, the (angry) carrier himself is brought to the province ^^

It does teleport to the province in question. Be careful tho that domes protecting that province may interfere with the teleport action.

Whoops.... forgot to mention that part. This is why I shouldn't post late at night.

Funny, but this should probably be on the bug shortlist.

WAD due to game mechanics. I suppose eyes could be made unequippable on units with no eyes, but that would likely require a mechanic change. Alternatively, removing the misc slots would be an easier solution.

It seems to be a deliberate feature considering that when you check your Precision is says: Lost an Eye: no effect or Blind: no effect. They wouldn't have a special version of Lost Eye or Blind if they didn't want it.

He probably just inserted the eye in the middle of his chest. A demon lord should be cool enough to do that :)

Uber Thread Necro, but this reminded me of something:

If your inanimate ("lifeless") SC gets his head ripped off, does he get the appropriate blindness penalties? Or does he just lose the ability to wear helmets?
