Oops Noob question

Sorry to ask a noob question

How can I copy the command script from one commander to another ?
Can it be saved ? Set as default ?

Thanks a lot !

Re: Oops Noob question

Point the mouse cursor (don't click!) on the desired command

press CTRL + 1-9

Go with the mouse cursor (don't click!) over the next commander

press 1-9 (the number you used before)

Done!

It's automatically saved for later too in that number's position, so you can save up to 9 commands :)

Pages 61-62 manual ;)

You can use ctrl+[num] to store a scrpit, [num] to recall it.

edit: Hmmm... Seems I am always too slow with my keyboard...

In the army setup screen, hover the mouse over the commands you have set up on your scripted commander. Press ctrl+[number] (1-5 only, I'm afraid).

Hover your mouse over another commander's order space. Press the number you just chose.

The commands appear to be saved somewhere in the .2h and .trn files, as I've kept them between turns in PBEM games. I don't believe there's a way to set them as defaults.

Edit: Damn. Ninja'd!

Further edit: I didn't realise it worked for 1-9. Cool!

Look, this community is so gentle, 3 people have answered less than 1 minute later of your question :D

Edit: @ Gregstorm - I never used up to 9, but the manual says so :)
@ Thierry - can't be saved as default, but with the numbers it is extremely fast to set even all your commanders with the desired script ;)

Huge thanks !

I thought it was F+num key. Since I'm on a notebook (laptop ? not an english speaker sorry) I was trying every combination...

RTFM I guess :)

Still thanks a lot !

@ Psycho - Really? The manual says just 1-9. Well, nice to know and to have 10 slots so :D

It is considered a cheat to copy Bogus and his crews orders by many players in mp. So if in doubt ask if it is outlawed.:D

Re: Oops Noob question

Yep, even in MP games which say "all that works in game is ok" it's very dubious if that isn't considered an exploit. If you happen to enslave/hellbind etc. Bogus & friends... better to ALWAYS ask :)

Re: Bogus and crew

The dubious commands that you aren't supposed to copy for other commanders' use (in multiplayer) are "Attack Commanders" and "Fire Commanders". Anyone could be given those orders in the first Dominions game, but it made commanders (and armies) too vulnerable, especially against fliers, and the option for adding them was removed.

I consider those commands spoils of war for successfully capturing Bogarus and his crew :)

Yeah, I love using those scripts in SP. Give a air or nature mage the Bow of War and just watch the enemy mages go pop.:D
