Mirror Match - Beta 1.0

This is a beta version of Mirror Match, which replaces all of the LA nations with 6, absolutely identical, color coded nations on a sorta generic fantasy theme.
It also has my particular flavor of CBM mixed in with it - so do not use this and CBM at the same time! Male magicians always get FAS,FA,FS,AS,FAEWSN, with varying %s. Female magicians always get N,WE,WN,EN,FAEWSN, with varying %s. The bishop gets a single S magic so that he can cast the ritual to make more priests. The units each nation gets are- -- Capital only units: --- Templar (female, sacred, heavy cavalry) --- Harridan (female, sacred, pricey, stealthy/survival, medium inf.) --- Slayer (female, sacred, elemental resists, archer) --- Engineer (siege bonus, pricey, medium crossbow) --- Longbowmen (pricey, archers) --- Mounted Heavy Infantry (pricey, heavy infantry) -- Capital only commanders: --- Mage (female, magic, sacred, flying unicorn heavy cavalry) --- Mage (magic, priest 1) --- High Slayer (harridan+slayer, non-commander, priest 1, assassin) --- Bishop (S+priest 3 (thus ordains priests), awe) --- Friar (priest 2, stealthy/survival commander, inquisitor, sailing) --- Wizard-Engineer (magic, heretic, forge bonus, siege, sailing) -- Common Units --- Battle Vestal (female, sacred, light infantry) --- Ranger (pricey, patrolbonus, stealthy/survival, light crossbow) --- Militia (cheap, light infantry) --- Light Infantry (light infantry) --- Medium Infantry (medium infantry) --- Heavy Infantry (heavy infantry) --- Archers (short bow, light infantry) --- Crossbowmen (crossbow, heavy infantry) --- Light Cavalry (light cavalry, pillage bonus) --- Knight (heavy cavalry) -- Common Commanders --- Lord (excellent commander, standard, levies troops) --- Adventurer (excellent commander, mapmove 3, patrolbonus, stealthy/survival/spy/sailing) --- Wizard (poor commander, heretic, nobadevents) --- Witch (poor commander, heretic, healer) --- Assassin (assassin, stealthy/survival non-commander) -- Free Summon Commanders --- Priest (priest 1, non-commander) --- Ritual to make these guys takes H3. Anyhoo, feedback is appreciated. Note that the caster pretenders all have magicboost, so that their magic paths appear higher on the selection screen than they will be for blessing purposes (opposite of dragons.) The next version will have big spells that let you summon sacred troops without researching them - idea being that having a big F pretender would give you sacred flame troops - and a set of spells so that D and B pretenders can bootstrap an undead or blood slave economy. The concept is that you can play on a level field if all the nations are identical, right?
It's also kinda a civil-war thing. |

I like mods that turn the game into something else, altogether, especially when it reflects on the strategy in some way. |

Are the templar supposed to have only blessed light lances for weapons? They have nice armor/defense, but with low health and strength and only one weapon that doesn't do much damage, I think they're a bit overpriced compared to the Knights.
Also, if the wizards get fire resistance I think it would be only fair for the witches to have poison resistance. Especially as they have to put up with wielding twigs while all the male magicians have magical weapons. |

Got an error "kv: bad mt0" while doing a turn. In said turn I had a bishop attempt to ordain a priest, tried to assassinate an indy commander with a slayer (scripted bless, attack), recruited another slayer, and fought a battle that almost certainly had nothing to do with the error. And I suppose one of the enemy nations could have done something to cause it also.
Using the current version of dominions, no other mods enabled. |

rdonj - The Templars should absolutely have warhorse hooves as well as the lance. I'm kinda leaning towards giving them recuperation and unicorns to ride (but that might be too much.) I was going to advise you to start the game in debug mode... but I am unable to do so myself atm. Hm.... will get back to you on this, sorry.

They might be a bit underpriced compared to knights of avalon like that being sacred, but otoh have 3 less strength with a lower damage weapon and 5 fewer hp, so it's debatable how much so.
It's alright, just letting you know there's a bug. I can wait. |

Is it objecting the presence of a free holy ritual?
It doesn't seem to bother me when I'm playing w/out CPU players. Possibly the AI can't deal with free rituals? |

If I had to guess, it probably is the free holy ritual, I'm not doing anything else out of the ordinary. It could always be something completely unrelated, I just have no idea.

I'd like to try an MP game with this set up as soon as I've got it working well enough to support that. |

I've only seen one very minor problem so far with this mod. If you play on a map that has all water nations disabled (eg Six Lands) then LA cannot be selected.
The national flags are very nice! |

Too bad there isnt a command for #copynation
It would make mods like this much smaller if we could copy the previous one and then just list the changes. Besides possibly allowing an easy duplication of the nations in the game to allow Arcos vs Arcos dueling. I wonder if #copynation has been requested in the modders wishlist yet. |

The MP game will not have the free holy ritual (unfortunately), so yeah, the MP game shouldn't be buggy.

It seems that only the rainbow pretenders have the path boost.
Also, it looks as if only the fountain and oracle reflect cbm changes... is that right? |
