Mirror Match Game
 
I'm going to do a mirror match game. The six positions are *exactly the same* and I'll be using the symmetrical six lands map. It'll be an IP game hosted at Gandalf's server.

The current gen of the mod is here:

But I'm going to make some minor tweaks and dump in some spells - they will be blood and death spells that will let you use blood and death on your pretender relatively easily, but there will be no direct changes to the current pretender designs available. The blood spells will summon blood casters, and the death spells will summon death casters who are also undead priests.

Notice that the mod includes a variant of CBM.

Ideally we'd start playing sometime in the week of Jan 5. There are only six slots (and I'm taking one.)

Red - DrPraetorious

Purple - Dragar

I would love to be a part of this game..... but I am in 13 games atm I think (because several are almost over, so I already replaced them), and I think it unwise to add another just yet. :o

Same story here, but only eight on my plate at the moment. I'd better find out what the New Year's got in store for me before I join another game.

Hah! :p Well one of them is ending today, finally. One of them is Kingmaker, and I am under siege in my last 2 castles. One of them I am wayyyyyy in the lead, and just need to forcibly convince the only remaining opponent to concede. A couple others I am just there because I pretty much refuse to go AI unless I just have no resources left to fight with at all..... But still, I admit it's crazy. ;)

I had honestly been hoping DrP would have waited another couple of weeks before posting this game, so I'd be in a better position to take a spot. Ah well, next time?

Where are we in this setup? And can you explain a bit about the death and blood - aka - will all pretenders even without death blood paths be able to cast these death/bloods spells you mentioned drp?

The breakpoints for the blood and death are 4,6 and 8 and 10 points in the respective paths.

4 blood gets you a 1 blood caster/priest for 12 slaves.
6 blood gets you a 2 blood caster who is also either a wizard or witch for 30 slaves.
8 blood gets you a fallen angel for 88 slaves and some research.
10 blood and 4 nature lets you cast Carrion Woods for 90 slaves.

4 death gets you a necromancer, who is a wizard/undead priest 1 for 12 death gems (he's not a heretic and has ice power rather than fire power and slightly different magic). This is a notably better deal than a specter. He's not inanimate or ethereal or anything though.
6 death gets you a risen lord, who is a passable thug/(inanimate) undead priest 2 for 30 death gems. This probably a better deal than a mound fiend, wraith lord or bane lord, but that depends somewhat on your bless.
8 death lets you summon a risen bishop, who is just an inanimate undead priest 3 and only has the one job, for 20 death gems.
10 death and 4 astral lets you open the soul gate for 90 death gems and some research. The various spectral legionaires are replaced with spectral versions of the common national infantry. Enjoy.

If anyone objects I won't add this stuff - I don't intend to use it on my pretender and I'm still playtesting it a bit.

I'm going to post a revised mod wednesday, and start the game Friday or so?

Sorry, I think I'll have to bail. I forgot about this game, and ended up subbing permanently in another. This would be one over my limit.

Looks like fun though. I'm sure you can find a replacement.

cool. are there anyother CBM components? Nat heroes, modified pretenders etc?
Should we make pretenders only with your mod (aka, significant variance?)

There are a few other CBM components built in, yeah. Most of them that are not nerfs are included, I can post specific documentation if-need-be, but most of it shows up in-game.

It seems that only the rainbow pretenders have the path boost.
Also, it looks as if only the fountain and oracle reflect cbm changes...

is that right?

Do to personal reasons beyond my control, I'm going to have to not join this game. Sorry Dr. P

Does CBM boost any of the other pretenders? I didn't include any of the nerfs.

Yes, a *lot* of the pretenders are modified, generally making them more viable choices, although not always.

Most of the titans were changed. Lord of Skies. Lord of Good Fortune, (4 gems), Lady of rivers (6 water) Oracle gives three astral gems..... immortal oracle price was increased.

VQ cost was cut, if I recall... bunch of other changes.

Yes. Just about any I had preferred to play were modified in CBM. Gems, summons, extra attacks, etc. Its become a mod that you have to really learn how to play IMHO

I've got to delay start until some time next week due to RL.

Differences between my mod and CBM 1.3 complete:
* Cyclops is not nerfed.
* Oops, I was going to give Father of Winters a OneBattleSpell and then changed my mind (squashed a probable bug.)
* Manticore fear drops back to 2 and his path cost is no longer decreased - I gave him recuperation *instead*, in addition to the mild combat buff that QM gave him.
* Titan comes with Wrathful Skies in every battle, fear 0 and stormpower, his cost is restored to 125.
* Great Sage, Archmage, Freak Lord, Crone, Frost Father, Great Enchantress, Master Druid, Master Lich and Ghost King are all +1 to all paths for casting purposes only. This does not change their blessings. The human forms of dragons *do* get this bonus (they pay 80 pts per path, go nuts.)
* Vampire Queen's cost rises to 100, she gets a domstr base of 3 and darkpower. The temptation to make her ethereal and give her onebattlespell: darkness, has been resisted, for now.
* Prince of Death cost reduced back to 75.

Other notable differences between my mod and CBM complete 1.3:
* no crude shortbows
* bow ranges de-reduced

Many other pretenders are CBM versions but *are not available to the custom nation in the mod anyway*, including the Lord of the Sky.

I have my own homebrew version of CBM which I like to use when I play - and I'm hosting the game with a mod of my own anyway, so I'm using it.

I'm moving right now and otherwise swamped. There's a bug in the mod.

Anyway, I'll reopen it for signup in about a week.
