Re: german 200 battle campaign
If you EVER want to get out of Poland and France, you better cut that battle amount WAY down. I play a 60 battle camapaign and my first three are against Poland, and I haven't played enough to see if I will be stuck there 10/39 also. If I am getting three or more in Poland, you must get a minimum of triple that. I think somebody said they played 100 battles and 10 of them were in Poland.

Re: german 200 battle campaign
I to am currently attempting (For the First Time) a 200 battle LC. One, to see if operations like Demark and Norway etc show up. Secondly I'm trialing using 140% for both sides for Searching, Hitting, and Rout/Rally plus 250% on artillery Effectiveness to see what the effect on game play is.
Keep us abreast of your Campaign. Bob out:D |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
there is no denmark i never noticed it. you can get to norway for some 3-5 battles.
the furthest i ever got was russia after going through the balkans. now i usually stop after france.... iwill also try to only use R&R after each month |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
the first battle was of course a meeting engangement.
booth sides aim was to capture the center crossroadson the debewielke map. my units werein the center to stop the attack while two inf companies attacked over the flanks. the poles had one platoon of tankettes with only one of the dangerous 20mm versions. target practice for my tanks. later 2 37mm armed 7tp attacked over a ridgeline but they never fireda shot of returnfire as they were ambushed by 2 aux pzII. after this tank battle was finished i triedtotakeout the enemy arty with my 2 me-109. a complete failure because of the 40mm flaks in the way. still the 4 howitzers and one mortar the enemy fielded didnt cause a single causality. my scouts and the sniper were overlooking the crossroads and directed a mortar barrage on the first wave of polish troops that stopped them long enough tobring the tanks and machine guns in position to overwatch this area. the sniper had great succes taking out 7 at rifle teams. but hedidnt get allofthem because three infiltrated in the south were the sicherungszug was behind the mark IIs and his cost me my two aux tanks. one destroyed with one shoot by at rifle. the gigantic explosion killed all crewmembers..... the other one was badly damged and tried to escape until he was immobilised with 3 man down of the 5 man crew. my AT-Rifle dindt fire a single shot as always. the rest of the battle saw he rout of an unsupported polish inf attack by manchine gun and mortarfire and the later envelopment of the retreating forces. my losses started to mount intheend of the game as i ran into aamgs placed in the woods.2 aamgs were cause for 10ofthe 20men killed and injured. the rest was due to enemy small arms. the next meeting engangement will probablysee the same enemy some tanks some inf. main goal is to minimize losses on my side since there will be no refit until the poland campaign is over. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
i never got denmark :< i only got 1 battle in norway (i think it wen't straight to france afterwards). in my 200 battle long campaign the poles phase was 5-6 battle long.

Re: german 200 battle campaign
The number of Polish battles seems pretty inconsistent then.

Re: german 200 battle campaign
Good day C22
Poland was only a month in game terms, can't see where 5-6 would be low. V2K Looks like a typical day in Poland, keep the SITREPS coming. Bob out:D |

Re: german 200 battle campaign
And so the second battle commences....
the fight is bronszki around the city of bronski. it has a huge forest in the southeast that is ofno interest to anyone. the city is close tothe polish lines and they are the first arriving there. my plan is to stop them in the city and move ith tanks and some inf around it. thsi way i can trapthem in the city and bomb them into retreat. when they retreat my tanks will finish them. speaking of tanks i have 4.... the north ofthe city is full of fields and some wood patches. here my core will move forward. the main part will defend the city outskirts and keepthe enemy busy. one inf platoon the scouts and the tanks will move trough the fields. in the south the auxilliary inf company will move forward. first contact has been made. one Pz4 is already immobilised. at least in agood overwatch position of a road. the infantrie is moving forward carefully even if the polesdont shell at all. sooner or later the usual 4 howitzers and one mortar will fire.... my tanks are holding the polish infantry and cavalry back that try to cross the cities roads. my 105er batterie deals heavy damage to them too. once mymachineguns are in place thetanks will start their planned advance. no enemy tanks have been seen yet. one infantry company is attacking from the sout one trough the city. more to come i guess. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
the enemy infatry tries to overrun us with heavy artillerie support.
Feldwebel metzgers MG-Abtelung looses 3 men tothis heavy artilery barage of 8 75mm howitzers. the enemy now has at least 4 infantry companies commited to the attack but his losses are around 20 men every turn. the 105ers will switch to counterbatteriefire now. the offensive use of the MGs was a mistake. the street gives a perfect field of firebut the hast ysetup and the enmy artelleire has costme 3men that will be hard to replace. the other mg group can do nothing but stay in place until the barrage have ceased. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
after the initial attack was broken the battle was over. now it has turned into a rout for the poles and theirlosses are big. only speedbump are some aamgs but force morale is down and they try to run after firing a few shots.
running with thoose mgs is quite tough.... this battle is effectively over. counterbattery fire has destroyed one 75mm battery and 81mms. the last 75mm battery will be taken out by scouts and the sniper. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
In the last battle my man showed to much enthusiasm. that caused 6 causalities.
Now my lightly damaged company followed the advancing forces until we reached the shores of the bzura river. As we were approaching the Town of Lewczyzza we heard about a counterattack by polish forces. hastily my kompanie is brought into defensive Positions. our Sister Kompanie is seperated from us by a swamp that takes upall the middle of the map. 2 Dirt roads go past it. one on the south and one in the north. We are to expect a broad attack and sowe have to stretch ourlines out abit. Lets see what the poles can throw at us. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
after a little bombardment by 3 100mm batteries the first wave of cavalry appears in the north.
in the south through driving trough the city 3 armoured cars and one 7tp appear and are taken out. After thsi work is done the panzers and the spaeher withdraw a bit to let the polish artillerie pound the ground where they just were. In the north the enemy cavalry is ambushed and mostly taken out. 4 lancers manage to escape. artillerie starts to fall. shortly after this a tank platoon passes through our lines in the south. my infantry is hiding and the panzerbuechse manges to do some damage. after a short exchange of fire 2 polish tanks are burning and one is damged and immobilised. The Infantry in this Position returns to the line. After another MG-Carrieris Blown up the polish infantry starts to appear. they are beaten back with machinegunfire. The mortars are also ready to fire on them. in the north the road is the center of attack. the rifle patoons in the wheat field see no enemy. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
After they were beaten back at the road in the north thepoles tried an attack through the wheat fields.
They were not able to brake the resistance of of the 2 Zuege there and when the mortars started to fall the attacking company+ retreated in disarray. next they are trying anotherattck along the road. just after they pounded my troops in the wheat field into retreat. they surely need better coordination. Now my infantry their has regrouped but nothing is coming throught the wheatfields anymore. Instead the unsupported attck along the road. they managed to rout one Inf Group but they have noarguments against the machine guns further down the road. Most of the attacking company isrouted and the mortars will dotheir buisness soon. in the south my 2nd Zug at the flank was forced into retreat loosing 8 man in total. The attack was slowed down by our mortars and what managed to move onto the vh was taken out by the reserve platoon machineguns and the tanks. another Attack was coming a bit more north between the southern dirt road and the southern map edge. but the unsuported infantry is no problem. the only danger are AT-Rifles and a sniper that has fired but wasnt spotted and of course the 100mm batteries. 12 more turns i hope mymachine guns dontrun out of ammo. the mortars are nearly finished. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
the poles continued their attacks all along the frontline.
Again and again they were stopped by my rifleman and sent intorout by the mortars and machineguns. then after they had reckoned my positions the arty came down and that caused a few causalities. In the end 8 men in total were killed and 12 injured. Mostly shrapnel wounds. one men went MIA when the right flank was pushed back. maybe he got lost in the woods. My 2 kompanies were attacked by approximatly 6 polish infantrie companies supportey by 2 cavalyry squadrones and a tank as well as a armoured car platoon. their artillerie was made up of 3 100mm batteries and 2 75mmFG batteries. one close tothe frontlines. They alsohad some Mortars but not much. We intend to counterattack and take out these artillerie positions. We here this attack was part of a greater attack on the 30th inf divison and losses were heavy all along the line defending the northern Flank of our advance on Warszaw. The men performed as expexted even the reserve Zug showed no fear under the heavy artillery barrages. The Sniper took out some AT-Rifles again and has now 12 Kills. The tanks destroyed all the enemy Armour and now have 22 and 16 Kills. The second Zug was decimated though and will be Rearguard until reeinforcements arrive. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
After one Day of Rest and resupply the reeinforcements have arrived. Now wehave some more amoured support.
Our Kompanie will attack on the southern Flank to Fix the Polish units there. Our Sister Kompanie in the north will dothe same on their Flank. in the center a newly arrived Panzergrenadier kompanie on foot with a kompanie- of normal infantrie will attack the cityof Leycze. The goal is to get throughthe city to the Bridge and Trap the Forces West of the Bzura. The enemy Defenses consist of the depleted Infantry that tried to break through our lines yesterday. All atnks were lsot in the attack but there might be still some potent artillerie support. We wil advacne carefully especiallybecausemymen are tired from the battle and we had some causalities. Ammosupply is low sowehave to use our artillerie only on know enemy positions. perfect coordination with the infantry will decide over succes and failure of an attack. We will be careful becasue we dont know how much fight isleftinthe enemy formations. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
After 5 battles in poland (and after a retart of the campaign...)
another infantry company was added to the Kampfgruppe. This Unit has a platoon of 37mm at-guns added and 75mm inf guns as art support. the oob now is HQ 1.Kompanie HQ 12xInf Grp 2x8cm mortar grp 2xscouts 1xsniper 3xpz2c 2xmg34mmg grp 2.Kompanie HQ 3xswInf 9xinf 2xaamg 3xAT-guns 1xkavlmggrp 1xsniper Together with 2 other infantry companies we are assualting the british lines in holland to keep them pinned in place while the other units will try to break through the ardennes. We have spotted 4 25pdr guns and 3 mortart groups that are shelling us. they are subjected to cb fire now. also 3 in platoons have been spotted and enganged so far. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
After assaulting the brtish lines and overruning a 25pounder artillerie batterie we advanced further into holland. The objective was to take two bridges over a river and the Villages close to thoose bridges.
Since ourmen were most rested they were choosen for thisadvance while the pioneers and infantry that supported our last attack stayed behind. Only 5 Pz3 followed us and we got a light batterie for support. First our scouts could take the bridges without resistance. only a group of scouts was found near thesouther railroad bridge. But ater we started moving over the bridge enemy artillery and tank units together with infantry counterattacked. We lost 2 of our precious Pz2 here two an immobilised Cruiser tank. Even after it was damaged and full of holes from 20mm cannons the 2 remaining crewmember managed to take out 2 tanks. a grenade froman at team finished their day. After this attack was broken there most of the enemy fled only some 25mm at-guns remained much to the dismay of the advancig pz3s. Still we pushed on joined by a Pzgrenadier company that had 2 Jgdpanzer as support. This saved the day once we met a battlegroup of de Gaulles 4th armored Divison. they had around 10 well armoured tanks against our one remaining mark 2. most of them were taken out by the jagdpanzer I only 2 char b1 remain. right now 1.kompanie is holding back and attack by the french while 2nd komanie and the panzergrenadiere flank them in the south. soon we will have the already demoralised enemy encircled. Still losses are mounting and we are waiting for ressuply. otherwise we can not continue our offensive. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
The plan worked as described and 912 of the enemy were either killed or captured. We destroyed 9 enemy tanks. 2 of them is blose assault. the first Zug has made improvised AT-Weaponsmade out of grenade bundles and Obergefreiter Briels squad has already destroyed 3 tanks with theese.
the french infantry was no match for our own and since the attacked over a cornfield and a train station that didnt have much cover they suffered greatly from our mortars and field guns. Near the end of the battle a french AA-Gun attacked one of the panzergrenadier scouts. but instead ofhitting it they took out all but one crewmebers of one of theirown 60mm mortars close by. That was some bad aiming. After this incident they promptly surrendered. the whole battle tookonly around 1 and a half hour still the destruction was great. the cornfieldsin the north and the trainsation where full of fallen french soldiers and burning tank wrecks. Unfortunatly a Platoon of soumoa Tanks escaped. But who knows what could have happened with theese tanksin the battle. Our own losses might have been much higher the only 9 men. Still the fighting was heavy and the men are tired and low un supplies but we have to advance further the enemy is out of balance. Intelligence says there is not mcuh between us and the french border anymore. Only the remains of a dutch infantry divison that was hit hardat the beginning of the assault on holland and has been pulled back for R&R. We will se how much fight they still have in them. |
Re: german 200 battle campaign
ok when i said we would reach frace i was abit rash.
we defeated the dutch army at least. Our mission was to assist a Paratrooper platoon that had captured earlier a supply depot and thanks to our fast advance we could help them against the dutch reserves trying toget it back. We were adavcing fro the south trought the fields around theis depot.there wasnotmuch cover tobe found. On a street in the north a recon company moved forward and clashed with ca. 10 panservagen 36 speeding into the direction of the depot. Behind them were 4-5 inf companies. the armoured cars managed to destroy a 37mm armed sdkfz 251 and a psw 221. the only gun armed psw222 was soon out of ammo and the recon guys turned north to avoid the panservagen that wer some kind of dutch tank substitute armed with 37mm guns and 2 mgs. now came the hour of 2nd kompanies AT-Guns. they took ut 5 Panservagen and first kompanies at-rifles got 1. the last remaining mark 2 tookout the 2 and one was destroyed by a direct hit from our 80mm mortars. the dutch inf was beatintoretreat by artillery and mortar fire and the returned the favour with the divisions 120mm and 75mm batteries. Again we took some losses especially to artillery and nowthat we for the first time encountered heavy artillery it is time to bring more maneuver in our fighting style. to many causalities were caused by staying in semi-covers positions that were no protection against 120mm rounds. After the dutch surrender we were pulled back to divison reserven and received 2 new tanks to replace the ones lost. one mark 4c and a panzer 38 equipped with sabot ammunition. Also reinforcements for the infantry arrived. |
