Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
*DISCLAIMER
Before I get flammed over for asking "the wrong questions" let me tell you that this questions are for you to write your OPINION! Meaning that when I aske for the "best", I mean the best in your opinion. If you think that it depends on the situation then dont answer and lets move on. :) I am basically asking for you most common tendencies. Period. Some questions. Mainly for the PROs, but anyone can give solid opinions :) TNX 1. What universal rituals summon assasins (COMMANDERS) adn (SPELLS)? a) Which one is the most efficient? 2. What universal rituals summon seducers (COMMANDERS)and (SPELLS)? a) Which one is the most efficient? b) Which ones are not succubus-like? (They dont take the seduced general to your capital, instead they take it to the nearest province) 3. What equipments boost your research? a) Which one is the most efficient? 4. What is the best non-unique equipment combination for a non-magical common commander for the Battle Arena? 5. What do you consider to be the best universal(regardless of nation) global ritual to be cast first? 6. What rituals let you summon a blood comander without blood having any blood slaves? a) Which is the most efficient? 7. What is the most best and most efficient universal way to equip a golem? ------------------------------------------------------------ More personalized questions: (PURE OPINION) 1. What is the commander that you've summoned the most? (From all your games with all nations)(ALL YOUR GAMES)(Overall) 2. What is the equipment that you've forged the most?(From all your games with all nations)(ALL YOUR GAMES)(0verall) 3. What is the global ritual that you've cast the most?(From all your games with all nations)(ALL YOUR GAMES)(Overall) 4. What is the most commonly scripted spell that you've used for your commanders?(From all your games with all nations)(ALL YOUR GAMES) -------------------------------------------------------------- (From all your games with all nations)(ALL YOUR GAMES) I write this because I know someone will say: "Ohh, but it depends on the nation Im using" I know that, however what I am asking for is the OVERAL. Hypothericly adding the number of times you've done it from all the games with all the factions. :) |
Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
3. Owl Quills, lightless lanterns, skull mentors. All boosters do as well. Champion skull can make a very dubious claim to as well. Lanterns are the most efficient by far.
4. Nakedness and not going to the worthless thing. 5. Possibly well of misery since it's likely the best one you can get up without triggering massive player-hate. Mother Oak as a low-research alternative. 6. One of the treelords has B, I believe Lamia Queens do as well, as do tartarians. Scout hunting is probably the most efficient way to do it though. 7. Depends what you're fighting. Frost brand + marble armor is a good cheap way to start. 1a. Tarts. Specifically the lightning clops 2a. antimagic amulet 3a. Well of Misery? 4a. Returning, enslave mind or soul slay most likely. Frozen heart/lightning bolt/thunderstrike are also up there. |
Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
1. Earth Attack; Vengeance of the Dead; some Blood assassin rituals (Horror summons of some sort). Which is best depends, VotD can be a cheap shot since it can create so many dead that the victim can't kill them all and auto-dies. I think all around Earth Attack is really good.
2. I don't know. I didn't think there was a seducer attack summon. 3. Owl Quill; Skull Mentor; Lightless Lantern. Lightless Lantern is considered the best partially due to that it uses fire gems which are not considered as useful all-around as other gem types. 4. I wouldn't really care about Battle Arena. Also, ``the best'' is completely dependent on situation. However, there are a few high priorities for all around thugging: * Amulet of Antimagic * Luck Pendent (or Silver Coin or Faithful) * Boots of Flying; Boots of Quickness; Boots of the Messanger * Marble Armor or (Black Steel Full Plate for undead); Rainbow Armor; Chainmail of Displacement; Bone Armor * Dragon Helm; Horned Helm; Horror Helm; Spirit Helm; Wraith Crown; Starshine Skullcap (for maximal MR) * Charcoal Shield; Vine Shield; sometimes Eye Shield * Fire/Frost Brand; Demon Whip (A cheaper fire gems only Fire Brand without the moral boost) for non-caster undead, I also like Lycanthrope Amulet 5. What do you consider to be the best clothing to wear when leave your house (if any)? 6. Summon Treelord 7. What is the best and most efficient universal way to play the piano? Lastly, your asking the wrong questions; there is no best. There's only clever nasty tricks. |

5. Goh 6. Is right. Most efficient is whatever you have the gems for. 7. Add a slave collar to the mix. 2a. Dwarf hammer, earth boots, skull caps, RoS, RoW, AMR, Amulets of luck. 4. Returning. Summon earth power. Communion slave. Flame arrows. Orb lightning. |

7. I dont play the piano. :( About askin the wrong questions maybe you are right. What I mean when asking "best" is your opinion of best. |
Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
3. As above, lightless lanterns tend to be best as owl quills don’t give enough and death gems have many better uses
5. Mother Oak 7. marble armour, frost blade, vine shield. 1. Golems 2. Lightless lantern in bulk, for actual combat use Shroud of the Battle Saint 3. Mother Oak 4. Bless. Summon Earthpower. |

Slave collar feebleminds them, removing both. |
Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
Slave collar can not be found or the chance to find it is extremely low.
If it could be found it would be an extremely useful item for the price. Equipping ten scouts with two collars each and attacking a province full of mages could be devastating if it worked. But it doesn't. I just wonder why you like to post things like this without even testing. |
Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
He means a slave collar on the Golem I think, to remove its vulnerability to magic duel.

What are you talking about? |
Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
he's talking about disabling enemy mages by "letting" them find slave collars dropped from dead golems.
clearly not a winning strategem on it's own, but definately an amusing potential side-effect (assuming of course that the collars can be found) |
Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
I am sorry for understanding your point wrong. I could imagine the only possible use for collars - that was what I said about. As for giving collars to golems, it is not good because it lowers MR by 5 and the very first Opposition will be a kill. Also, golem doesn't have good stats and uses Astral Magic to compensate it a bit. Without astral and one misc slot golem is a poor thug at best

Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
7: Best way to equip a golem IMO
I mostly use them as flying tramplers with something like this: Shield, another shield or weapon w. attack bonus, Starshine skullcap, Stymphalian wings(flying & trample), boots of stone, Amulet of antimagic and maybe a ring (depending on opposition), reinvigoration item or passive attack item(if I have dual shields). The weapon is in case you stumble over a crusher or elephant or something, but it isn´t meant to fight other SC:s. Body ethereal, luck, resist magic, attack rear. Can easily clear hundreds of mundane troops and I like being able to fly back after teleporting in. |

Against Marignon or R'ylleh ... you're better off feebleminded. |
Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
Putting a slave collar on a golem is a terrible idea. If you're outclassed in astral magic you can still use them as raiders, or as sacrificial antimagic casters on defense if you're really hard up for astral casters. Without their magic the only thing they're really good for is being a block of HP with decent strength, which other summons can do for a lot cheaper.

Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
Fantomen:
You'd want boots of quickness and elixir of life on him :) Much better results. From boosters - use astral shield. Resist magic is not really necessary for raiding, if you get against mages you are screwed anyway. |
Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
I doubt elixir of life works on lifeless beings. At least it shouldn't.
And with Stymphalian Wings and without quickness golem will have something like 3 AP. Who are you going to trample with that? Trample is rather poor attack in general at late stages, IMO. |
Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
But the primary purpose of Golems, is PD smashers. You don't need to kill them that fast as you have Fear as well. But I agree, that Boots of Quickness are often the best to pair with the Wings.

Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
I have to say I like a Shroud of the Battle Saint with E9 and either S9 or a minor nature blessing (or, Pantokrator forbid, both), a lot. Paired with Bracers of Protection, I think this beats out all body protections at Construction 6 except for Bone Armor.
|
Re: Most Useful Rituals and Equipment......
I am 100% sure that Elixir of Life works on lifeless.
You want Boots to trample more and faster. But for stymphalan wings boots of long strides are cheaper and do the same job. The biggest Golem killer is turn50 limit. Elixir protects him from other unlucky things. And it's hard to fill his misc slots properly anyway. |
