Sprite Request II

I'm almost done with my compensation for the NoGen mod.
Yet I need sprites for my new creations.

Size 1: worms, (mindless grubs, looking vaguely like ulms)

Fire wyrm
Death wyrm
Water wyrm appreciated (you can just change colors)

Anyone interested in helping out by making those wyrm sprites?

Re: Sprite Request

Sorry, but I'm busy with bretonnia. Have you tried to take a look at the numereous nation mods floating around here? Some of them are bound to have some serviciable sprites for your purposes (you know if you remember to ask for their permission to sue them).

If I recall correctly, Honeybadgers Ammon Kush had a nice greyish wyrm that could be easily recolored.

Re: Sprite Request

If he's just recolouring stuff he could use the vanilla wyrm sprite.

Urm...for size 1? Would be a bit excessive (maybe draw a large magnifying glass frame to indicate it's enlarged? :p )

Sombre July 15th, 2009 09:55 AM

Re: Sprite Request

I thought he was talking about size 1 'worms' and size whatever 'wyrms'.

Re: Sprite Request

Doesn't the lizardmen mod have some little snakes in it?

Sombre July 15th, 2009 01:18 PM

Re: Sprite Request

Yep, size 1 wormlike creatures. What do they have to do with anything though?

My compensation package for Agartha is a spell that allows the divine oracles to transfer their sentience into a wyrm construct.
These wyrms are blind and exist only to search for gems.

I envisioned the 'worm' looking like an olm - but I don't really care. The wyrms are fire (red), water (blue) death (purple).

So size 1 wormlike creatures would be wonderful!

Hmm... I maked something, but looks more like worms, not like olms
If they are acceptible, I can make attack sprites too

They are GREAT ... thank you...

If you would accept a suggestion on the attack..
make the mouth open with tentacles.... like a leech..

But GREAT and thank you very much!

Thanks, this is my first self-made (I better say "self-semi-edited-semi-made") sprite (I'm planning making a mod) :)
Here are attack sprites

Re: Sprite Request

Strabo (or other)

Could someone macre a Bishop fish in even more glamorous attire.

I'd like him quoted in nacre (mother of pearl) spendid in refulgent glory! Again, much appreciated.

chrispedersen July 17th, 2009 04:13 AM

Re: Sprite Request II

And perhaps one of the refulgent one, with a mitre?

English is my first language and it's hard for me to work out what 'macre a bishop fish quoted in spendid refulgent nacre' means.

Man my english was really was dreadful!
I can only plead fatigue.

The pearlbishop is an excellent name Strabo.

I was looking for two sets of icons. One with the pearl bishop just being whiter - brilliant. Looking like he was covered in mother of pearl.

The second, the same one with one of the pope's hats on.

Re: Sprite Request II

Hey, I understood what you wanted, admittedly I was mentally editing out your poetic language (refulgent indeed). Getting something that looks like it's covered in nacre could be hard at game resolution, though.

Thanks Strabo!

Well, good :)
Do you have more requests?

chrispedersen July 19th, 2009 03:44 AM

Re: Sprite Request II

Well, I was going to live with the sprites I have.

But I did make an Imp Slaver - so if you're up to an imp with a whip, or some other mark of slavery that would be cool.

Re: Sprite Request II

Hey Strabo.. the second image is awesome..

The first image, is confusing it looked like he had a scythe..
In the second image its obviously a (very cool) whip

I'll take it as is but if you want to touch up the first one that would be good to.

(of course, having no artistic talent at alllll.....)...

If you're having fun... and would like to do more...

How about an Hadisha - harvester of eyeballs. Basically an assassin with a pouch to harvest eyeballs.

And an Eye Lord.. should be terrifying, large, size 6.. with lots of eyes, perhaps tentacle.

Demon Lord...

Man you rock!.. It takes me *hours* just to change the color on a flag.

So right now you're ahead of me. But I should update the zips tomrorow. And thanks!

Do you have more requests? :)

Re: Sprite Request II

Ok.. How about

1. A Chinese water dragon.
2. A freak lord with a lance sprouting leaves... also with a seed bag.

Strabo July 21st, 2009 12:09 AM

Re: Sprite Request II

Oh, damn! All my previos sprites must be horizontally flipped, I think you can do it without problems.
P.S. New sprites will be here in 30 minutes

I flipped all myself, and made a chinese river dragon (I read, that it's called Chiang Lung) and the Seed Lord
More requests?
P.S. Can you say what is your mod about and when it will be relesed? I want see my sprites in work ;)

chrispedersen July 21st, 2009 02:22 AM

Re: Sprite Request II

Sure,

The main threads for discussion are anything with *Balance* in them. Much of it has been released before you did bitmaps. I keep updating a little everyday.

So far it has focused on

A. National Adjustments.
.1. Tien Chi (Chinese Water Dragon) (in progress)
.2. Yomi (Eye Assassins, EyeLord) (in progress)
.3. Agartha (Additional Starting Points, national Spells)
.4. Abysia (Reduced Death Scale effect)

B. No Generators mod. Removes clams, BloodStones, and ffetishes.

C. No Generators compensation. Removal of generators severely hampers certain nations (MA Oceania, for example). These nations were compensated.

D. Additional Pretenders (mostly for underwater nations)

E. Removal of old age from weak nations secondary units.

F. Changes to CBM.

G. Miscellaneous So for example, Balance boosters increases the cost for booser items. Reduce spell cost reduces the gemcost for spells that are never used in combat.

Re: Sprite Request II

Hey Strabo... I was doing some testing ... the Hadishah sprite.. is too small for a size 3 unit. Could you make it larger?

Would you mind making an Eyelord based on a Polypal Queen - with lots of eyes?

Strabo July 23rd, 2009 05:39 AM

Re: Sprite Request II

Something like this?

chrispedersen July 23rd, 2009 11:48 AM

Re: Sprite Request II

Yes!

And I *really* love the feel of Yomi. Now the problem is they are a touch too strong.

Comments: For the Eyelord, the difference is too small to show that he attacked: Obscuring him with Light flares would be a good idea: except we need to coordinate the light flares to the flight effect of the weapon.

Comment: Hadisha2 - isn't that still the small sprite? It looks pretty cool actually, just wanted to make sure it was the sprite you intended to send.

Re: Sprite Request II

Wow - and you say thats not up to your usual standards???

These are great.... I will use them as is - but they rather look like a hobbit with a staff.

These really are awesome, so I will use them - but if you want to try again...

BIG. Size 6.
A body of water and air - your color scheme is perfect, btw.
Weapon- lightning - and a suffocating crush
Beard.. long if you can do it.

You said Bog Mummy-sized, I made it even bigger, do you need EVEN bigger?
Body of water and air is hard to do for me, so I made bearded version of "hobbit with a staff":)

Re: Sprite Request II

How about a two headed divine oracle. (Ea Agartha)

One head death - the other fire... (Thank you!)
