Greece Stain - NEW
 

Hello:

Here is a new wraparound map I finished this week. It is called Greece Stain.

This map is designed for 18 land nations. There are 18 optional preset starting positions that are randomly assigned. Each is marked with an eclipse. Provinces with rivers or by lakes have fresh water. The few mountains that are not adjacent to an impassible mountain barrier are border mountains. Water provinces 89 and 142 are small population provinces. There are no preset sites.

This is a tournament quality map that will be added to my long list of favorite maps. The idea of having impassable mountains with caves that connect opposing nations is always cool. Every aspect is balanced and well defined. The colors add to defining the territories. Very nicely done PashaDawg!

And so you should be Pasha, as it's a really good map.

A few of the land starts that are near water concentrations are a little bit tough though compared to the others (due to the poor lack of choice for provinces to expand to compared to other land starts), but other than that it's a nice tight wraparound map that's great for competitive MP games.

I haven't given up hope that one day you will bless us with another one of your Cartographical masterpieces :)

Attached is a clean version of Pasha's Greece Stain map, with the eclipse's that mark the starting locations removed. (for those, like me, who don't like marked start locations)

There are no .map files in the attachment, only the cleaned image file.

Hmm... how did you clean up the image file? I could share the GIMP file. :)

It was nothing more fancy that selecting the colour next to the eclipses, and then filling them in. Although my first attempt to clean the map lead to disaster when I accidently drew over the white pixels that mark a province. That resulted in some really wild province connections and crashes :)

The original GIMP file would be handy if you still have it, since I personally really like this map.
