???

Im guessing you meant to make a reply in some thread instead of starting a new thread?

I'm guessing you meant to troll in another thread instead of this one.

Llamabeast must be your brother or something, since you both have Llama in your names. So call your bro up and tell him to fix the game.

wow...first you make demands of a free service that someone else has volunteered to provide you.

then you call another person a troll for what was actually a rather polite reply.

no comment, just thought we should review what happened. :)

I just asked a simple question, thats all. And I get a bunch of responses about how rude I am, how I'm doing drugs, how I'm posting in the wrong places etc.

I speak punctuation. He said that he's in great pain and he wants to know if you can help him.

Stretch March 10th, 2010 03:08 AM

It helps to be a little more clear. And yes, llamabeast runs a nice service for us all, and he does it all for free. If everything isn't instantly updated it's best just to take a deep breath and enjoy the beautiful springtime weather (if you're in a part of the world that's having it).

Gandalf Parker March 10th, 2010 03:25 AM

Re: Can we get an ETA on this situation?

OK so lets clarify. Apparently:
"Can we get an ETA on this situation?
???"

Translates as....
Please LLamabeast, can I get an Estimated Time of Arrival on a fix for my game on your server?"
But we still dont seem to know what game he means.

And, now that we know its a game on the LLama server...
A) is this a problem with email? Receiving? sending?
B) have you updated your copy of Dom3 with the latest just-released patch yet?
C) have you contacted the person running the game you are in?
D) have you contacted LLamaBeast?
E) since you didnt put LLamaBeast, or LLamaServer, or the name of the game into the title of your thread, why did you think LLama would see it and answer? Which is back to why I thought you meant it as a comment in another thread where this all might have been much clearer right away.

Re: Can we get an ETA on this situation?

Lay off him! "???" is a perfectly appropriate question. After all it's what we're all asking ourselves every day isn't it?

Respect FFS.

GrudgeBringer March 10th, 2010 07:34 AM

Re: Can we get an ETA on this situation?

I 'think' what would be more appropriate is to find out for sure what we all are supposed to do in preparation for the games to start agian.

I for one am not quite clear if we all have to update NOW (I do have it D/L to desktop just in case), or wait until someone says 'GO'.

I am admin in 3 games and I honestly don't know what to tell everyone, and when dealing with 30 players I fear it (sigh) will be a week long discussion.

As far as Ghoul goes, I think he was just wondering as I am, but I think it came off to some as jumping llama and then reacting to a few people. I would just tell him to also take a deep breath. and when someone gets a definitive answer it will be like 'The shot heard round the world'. (my apologies to our British cousins)

Ah, I see, what he really wants is an ETA in the Middle East situation. I hear Biden is there right now doing what he can to move things along. But I still can't give you an ETA on when Peace in the World will break out, but I can guess - 3047?

Otherwise, I apologize for the fact that we are all too dumb to be more accurate. Unfortunately, the intemperate nature of certain segments of humanity make such estimates difficult to come by...

No, he wants an ETA on the situation of this thread in order to know when it will be closed.

I think he's asking about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ETA Basque separatists, and when we will have an Euskadi-themed mod nation.

Re: Can we get an ETA on this situation?

ETA: 5 mins. But I'll still probably need to light a candle after that, so I guess it depends on your definition of resolved.

Euskadi would actaully make a great mod nation. Lots of interesting mythological creatures.

And some decent models for custom pretenders:

GB, the answer is it does not matter for the current turn you are suhmitting; you can patch or not patch. However, once Llamaserver hosts you will have to patch before the next turn is submitted.

Re: Can we get an ETA on this situation?

Money donated of course grabs Llama's attention. I've already donated a lot, more than the cost of a high end game. Perhaps some others would care to donate.

Its the same old story - when good llamas go bad ....

My actual question is in the title because that is obviously how forums work, right?

Re: Can we get an ETA on this situation?

Oh bugger. Sorry everyone. I actually patched the server within a few hours of the patch coming out (efficient or what?). However I obviously failed to get the server restarted. Odd, since I thought I had set it going, but it was bedtime and I didn't want to stay up to check (since it might take hours to process the backlog). And I hadn't checked since then since I assumed it had worked.

Well I will get it going tonight. Many apologies for the delay.

Also I haven't read much of this thread, but it looks very odd. :)

That is fine and all (like, who cares?), but the real quid of this thread was to see when an Euskadi mod nation will make it to the game, alas your answer does not help much. Anyone?

I'm going to close this thread since "this situation", as you've all noted, can be just about anything. Viaerjo, I think it's best if you open a new thread for your question. Thanks.
