Is there an "Undead Nation"

...playable? I didn't notice one besides a "Vampire-ish" one. I'm thinking about Zombie Hordes here. Maybe a modded race?

Thanks!

LA Ermor if you want to play late age
Tomb kings is a modded race from Warhammer, its in MA
MA Ermor priests can raise undead.

In ea not really but you can play Yomi for recruitable demons and to a lesser extent Lanka (their demon troops are capitol only) but their demon priests can also raise undead

Thanks for the answers gents. I wonder -- does the AI manage this race well (Ermor)? The tactics in the book look like it's rather rough even for a human player (therefore I must try it sometime heheh).

well, the only real *undead* nation in the game(without mods that is) is LA Ermor. however there are plenty of other death nations that eventually turn out to be pseudo undead nations themselves. nations such as C'tis(all ages, MA less than the others), LA Agartha, MA Ermor, Sauromatia, etc.

I think LA Ermor is considered one of the strongest nations for AI, because AI tactics consist almost entirely of throwing huge waves of chaff at you, and LA Ermor has LOTS of free chaff.

MA Ermor is also an undead nation, as it is usually played. All their mages can reanimate.

LA ULM is an undead forging nation. Still not as night of the living deadish as LA-Ermor

The AI seems fairly decent at LA Ermor. As a human player, SP games are very easy as LA Ermor assuming you last through year 2...the AI just can't counter you hoards of undead. Of course, you have to start with an awake pretender. Not doing so is a very bad idea (although I started with a sleeping pretender the first time I played it, and against Mighty AI...and I still won, lol).

If it's SP, you could also try out the Azgeth mod I put together based on Squirreloid's concept. It hasn't had any proper playtesting, so it might have some rough patches, and may not be balanced (likely to be too weak, if anything.) However, it's mostly using out of the box sites/units/spells, so it should be relatively OK...

Re: Is there an "Undead Nation"

Thanks for all the input Gents. I am currently trying out the Rohan units for the time being. But that Ermor sounds interesting.

And yeah I was thinking of a Night of the Living Dead scenario heheh. I wondered about a mid sized map with 4 opponents, all Undead. Would probably get old fast (in terms of the tactics), but a "containment" strategy and an eventual "last stand" might be some fun to play with sometime.

Re: Is there an "Undead Nation"

Azgeth plays pretty well, actually. I've expand tested it a few times, and by the time it gets to anything resembling a real war, well, it has death magic and death magic and some other things - should do fine.

LA Ermor will be run better by the AI if you use NI (No Independents). The AI has this tendency to buy crap troops instead of castles. Ermor just wants to buy castles and temples, so if you force them to have nothing to spend their gold on but castles and temples, they should act pretty rationally. (You may also need to build a pretender for Ermor so they start off with a D3 pretender who can actually cast their national summons to get them started... I know this is possible to do - might ask Gandalf how).

Re: Is there an "Undead Nation"

LA Ermor is the nation you are looking for but as other say. It will be boring to play in single player since it is so strong. Any pretender with dom 10 and D3 will win you any game at highest difficulty.

Re: Is there an "Undead Nation"

Imprisoned pretender for a LA Ermor challenge game.

It would be better if there was something useful to do with all those points beyond making the ultimate rainbow mage.
