Re: Kings of Drama - a MA game, recruiting!

I'll hop in as Mictlan.

For victory, I'd recommend take&hold 1/3 of the caps, ie 5 caps for 3 turns with 15 players.

edit: Anyone wanting to contact me diplo-wise should use IRC also.

Could we add the endgame diversity mod?

And I'd like to join with Ctis.

As far as I know, the newest CBM (1.71) includes EDM, armor revamp mod and the arena boost mod.

Bandar-MFing-Log
And I suggest 4 capitals as the victory condition rather than 5.

Re: Kings of Drama - a MA game, recruiting!

I would say 1/3N+1 of capitols sounds good (N being the number of nations), but I would like them to be held for 10 turns. 3 turns is barely long enough to storm a castle.

Does it count when someone is besieging your castle?

Re: Kings of Drama - a MA game, recruiting!

No, you need to control it whole. So VP goes to someone that is inside fort.

By Avalon's name,I choose MAN.

Re: Kings of Drama - a MA game, recruiting!

10 turns of cap holding is definitely too long. The whole point of the victory condition is to eliminate the endgame grind of the last 10-15 turns where everything is already clear. If a nation can hold all of those capitals for 3 turns, there's absolutely nothing anyone can do about it. Hint: You don't want to wait until someone has all the caps before starting to work against them.

I don't really care--either way is fine with me, and I like the use of the modified Riverlands map that we used on Countdown. It's an attractive and interesting map--lots of lovely borders and bridges.

On another note, I will not be around much this weekend, and while I don't think it will be a problem since we just now called for Pretenders up (mine is uploaded already btw), I will not be able to submit a turn until Sunday evening (Central time GMT-6) at the earliest.

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

The S&S mod is too ugly.
:(

Awund November 13th, 2010 02:31 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

I still need to create my pretender, but I won't be able to do so before Sunday afternoon.

Executor November 13th, 2010 05:49 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

Why is streams and standards being used btw? It's a rather crappy mod (no disrespect to the creator) and completely useless, further more it just screws with the score graphs.

Quitti November 13th, 2010 06:06 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

I find it clearer than the vanilla flags - true it's quite different style, but still.

You can create empty s&s mod file if you want to see the vanilla graphics in a game where s&s is used. This though means that if you'll ever join kingmaker or other multi-age game, you should copy the original mod files back.

NooBliss November 13th, 2010 06:36 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

I'd rather have vanilla flags, pretty please. Streams&Standarts are necessary for multi-age games, I suppose, but in a single-age game vanilla flags are actually easier to identify.

Executor November 13th, 2010 06:53 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

That's not true even for multi age, S&S is horrific in mutli age games as some of the nations have the exact same banner. I've had that problem once

And yes I know Quitti, I plan to do exactly that. Thanks.

Oh, I thought nobody would mind. Sorry.

Looks like we're waiting on Oceania (Frozenllama) to submit pretender?

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

I submit that ashdod cheating is a valid balance tweak :)

Quitti November 16th, 2010 02:30 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

Indeed. At least the game knows which nation is overpowered.

Pjoo November 16th, 2010 03:44 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

Ashdod is cheating
Ashdod is too powerful considering the current Dominions 3 rules. This might be caused by cheating or by using when designing the nation. The nation's God has been reduced in power.

Everything seems fine to me.

Quitti November 16th, 2010 08:21 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

So I reckon we go on since no-one cares if Ashdod's god has been reduced in power. All in favor yell "AYE".

Corinthian November 16th, 2010 08:48 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

To be fair. Ashdod is only dangerous with a good bless. If you subtract the bless then ashdod will be reduced to a kitten.
It's not like he have good scales or anything.

Executor November 16th, 2010 09:00 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

Have both Pretenders magic and bless been reduced in power, or just magic paths, now that's the question...

nozshand November 16th, 2010 09:09 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

Its actually a good thing now that the Ashdod god has lost his power, rumor has the god slaved one of the greatest champion of Ashdod whose strength almost matched the god himself before the god went dormant, now the champion will be freed and rise from beneath.

The champion is fueled with rages so unless you all want to die, expel him from the game now mortals

Verjigorm November 16th, 2010 02:20 PM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

So... are we going to play with gimped Ashdod or are we going to reset and have him re-upload?

PriestyMan November 16th, 2010 02:28 PM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

Ashdod has submitted his turn so i assume he is ok with just playing. so..... GET ON WITH IT!!!! :)

Corinthian November 16th, 2010 03:02 PM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

Ahh. Truly we are the Kings of Drama.

Juffos November 17th, 2010 02:15 AM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

Since the Ashdod player doesn't seem to mind, having sent his turn in, we will proceed.

Awund November 17th, 2010 06:30 PM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

I will be away from a computer with dom3 on it this weekend, starting Friday around noon. I'll be back Sunday evening very late. Could I get an 48 hour extension for the turn starting on Friday morning (so it would end on Monday morning) or do I have to search a sub for the weekend? I'd hate to stall so early in a game.

Seemed like Oceania wouldn't be able to submit turn in time, hosting postponed due to another request too.

We need to start the game over. The computer took away my bless

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

You made a druid pretender in 1.6 and used in 1.7?

Quitti November 18th, 2010 08:06 PM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

Ghoul31: meh. No.

Debaser8 November 18th, 2010 08:21 PM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

I believe, based on a quick test, Ghoul's pretender was stripped of all paths. On that basis I think we should restart.

mscfish November 18th, 2010 09:24 PM

Re: Kings of Drama - submit pretenders!

Personally,I dont think it is funny to play with a nation(ashdod here) which is punished because of the careless design.
If we want to restart the game,I think it should be do as quickly as possible.
