Patch 3.25

Hello all,

It's seems that the new patch is finished   (see http://ulm.illwinter.com/dom3/dom3progress.html), but not relased for now

Whatever, a great big thanks for Illwinter & the devs !

Re: Patch 3.25

Is this the one that 'fixes' fear being blocked by shields? That's going to have huge metagame effects.

Otherwise, its a useful patch for modders since the number of spellslots is going up dramatically. Yay.

Re: Patch 3.25

Everyone seems to have parts they like. :)
I expect to see some games started just because of the "no nations info" working again.
But of course my personal interest is more in the 3 server tweaks it includes.

What is the no nations info?

I believe it is a server hosting command line to force nation info off, so you don't see the charts showing number of provinces owned, research etc.

I am curious about this:

31st December 2010
* Modding: Gift of reason is subject to spec limitations on target unit.

I'm not sure what that means.

I'm not sure either, but it COULD be a limitation as to WHICH units can be targeted by GoR! And if so I suppose it's directed at tartarians. And perhaps the most powerful SC wishes too?

Non GoR:able tartarians would be a welcome and interesting change I think.

I agree and would love this change as well.

Re: Patch 3.25

Patch is now 3.26

11th January 2011
* Version 3.26
* Reverted: Battles caused by random events are now resolved at the end of the random event step. This should fix any problems with barbarians attacking a sieging army due to bad luck.
* Modding: new command #heretic.

Re: Patch 3.25

right, so, um,

where does one find 3.25 or 3.26?

Gandalf Parker January 11th, 2011 08:51 PM

Re: Patch 3.25

Neither have been released yet. 25 was the release to the beta testers and 26 is an update from that

when it is released it will be here..

If they're not released yet that makes sense. I thought the shrapnal pages had gone stale since 3.24 :S

Re: Patch 3.25

All new patches are beta tested first to see that everything works as it should. There were some serious issues with a couple of patches in the past that necessitated further fixes before they were ready for public consumption.

Re: Patch 3.25

Was it (rand. event battle) reverted due to consequent bug?

That depends on where you draw the line (in the sand) between a bug and a feature.

Results were reported and Illwinter made a decision based on that. That's all there is to it.

Re: Patch 3.25

Although it was definitely a good decision as the consequent "feature" would have been much more disruptive than the current one! :)

Aw, I hope not. Tarts are interesting. Sure they are nice, but that 25% chance of crazy makes them strategically unreliable. If one couldn't GoR them that would become meaningless.

llamabeast January 17th, 2011 06:34 PM

Re: Patch 3.25

Non-GoR able tartarians would just reduce the numbers available for using as commanders. They would remain the most powerful thing in the game, it would just make more tries to get an SC commander, and there would be more "troop" Tartarians who are basically too mad to be allowed to go off on their own.
