Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

3 Attachment(s)
This is a game for players with some experience. I've got about 10 MP games under my belt, and am looking for people of about the same caliber.

Map: Streamlands
Mods: CBM 1.84
Era: late age
Banned nations: Ermor, R'lyeh
hosting: Llamaserver
hosting interval: 24h to start, extensions upon request
Hall of Fame: 15
all other setting default
diplomacy: NAPs are non-binding (you may attack other provinces, overwrite global enchantments, steal artifacts, seduce commanders, etc. at will). Trade agreements (gold, gems, magic items, province swaps) are inviolable.
victory conditions: Become Pantokrator the old-fashioned way, or hold 5 or more capital provinces for 3 consecutive turns (screenshots may be requested). This should mitigate end-game micro and horror.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to modify these settings for a more interesting game, I'm happy to listen.

Edit: the proper version of CBM 1.84 that works with the current patch of Dominions is now attached. I've uploaded a new version of the map we'll be playing on that has an erroneous province connection removed. Please be sure to download the map file, and the corrected CBM file if you haven't already.

Player roster:
1) Groundworm- Bogarus
2) GFSnl- Jomon
3) vargr- Midgard
4) Anaconda- C'tis
5) tratorix- Atlantis
6) Catquiet- Marignon
7) AfroSquirrel- Patala
8) Slobby- Gath

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (recruiting)

I'd like to play Ulm.

And i would change the win requirements to 5 capitals for 3 turns as in the "Minimum Wage Slave" game I'm in, 4 has proven to be to low.

"Minimum Wage Slave" Game threat.

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (recruiting)

I'd like to join with Midgård.

Anaconda July 15th, 2011 10:56 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (recruiting)

Sign me in for C'tis, if you may.

I got less than 30 MPs, most of them hotseat, since D2 and I have won non.

I havent won many SPs either so my long reaching background shouldnt bother the balance of skill.

I can keep up with the fast pace, however I might need a 5 day break at the first week of Aug.

tratorix July 15th, 2011 11:22 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (recruiting)

I'll play as Atlantis.

Groundworm July 15th, 2011 07:23 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (recruiting)

Welcome aboard, everyone. GFSnl, thanks for the suggestion; victory requirement changed accordingly.

We need 3 more peeps, then we can submit pretenders and get this thing started.

Catquiet July 15th, 2011 07:53 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (recruiting)

I'll join as Marignon.

AfroSquirrel July 15th, 2011 08:12 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (recruiting)

I've only got 2 MP games under my belt (plenty of SP, but the difference is so great...), but if you don't mind a newbie throwing his glove in the ring, I'll play as Patala.

Groundworm July 15th, 2011 10:20 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (recruiting)

Welcome, Catquiet and AfroSquirrel.

Afro, you're welcome to join if the others don't mind having a somewhat less experienced player on board. Any objections?

Slobby July 15th, 2011 10:28 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (recruiting)

gath please

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (recruiting)

And Slobby makes 8. Let's take the weekend to think about our pretenders, and I'll post the game on Llamaserver on Monday.

Groundworm July 18th, 2011 02:56 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

Game is now up: http://www.llamaserver.net/pretAdmin.cgi?game=Faithless

If you haven't already, please download the CBM 1.84 files and revised Streamlands map I've attached to the original post in this thread, and construct your pretender *after* you've downloaded the corrected CBM.

Game will start when all pretenders are submitted. See you in the Streamlands!

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

Midgård pretender submitted. From tomorrow morning to Wednesday morning I won't be able to play, so in case we get this started before that, please extend hosting if necessary. After Wednesday AM 8:00 GMT, I can play without delays.

GFSnl July 18th, 2011 05:11 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

I've been so free to change my preference from Ulm to Jomon. The strategy I wanted to try for Ulm just didn't work :(.

Uploaded pretender

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

The tga for the map seems to be missing. And off goes my pretender...

Here you go.

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

I appreciate the help, GFSnl, but I made one correction to the Streamlands map, so those may not be the proper files. I've attached the .map and the .tga files to the initial post.

GFSnl July 18th, 2011 07:07 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

Ok, will get those then.

Anaconda July 19th, 2011 03:20 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

Its wednesday already, so whats up with the pretenders?

Groundworm July 19th, 2011 06:06 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

Still waiting on Atlantis and Gath, no word from them. I'll give them until the end of the week, then look for 2 other players.

tratorix July 19th, 2011 07:02 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

My email doesn't seem to want to let me attach files atm, but I should have it in before the end of the night. I'll post again once its done.

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

Sorry I took so long guys, pretender in, game started.

AfroSquirrel July 20th, 2011 03:30 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

And the game begins! The Markata are very eager to seek out new life and new civilizations, and then fling poo at them!

Catquiet July 20th, 2011 07:49 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

Is renaming off in this game?

Groundworm July 20th, 2011 08:47 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

Yes, renaming is off.

AfroSquirrel, watch where you're flinging that poo! There are other people on this continent!

Groundworm July 21st, 2011 02:16 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

Postponed hosting by 12 hours since Atlantis has yet to submit their turn with 4 hours to go, and I won't be able to delay the timer for awhile if I don't do it now.

tratorix July 21st, 2011 03:30 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (submit pretenders)

Crap, sorry thought I sent that in last night. Done now.

is c'tis out already?

tratorix July 24th, 2011 12:26 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

They're still in the game, though they aren't doing so hot.

Anaconda July 24th, 2011 01:48 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

24H was too fast hosting for me this turn

Groundworm July 25th, 2011 01:39 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

Sorry to hear that, Anaconda. If you post and/or PM me, I'm happy to extend the turn. I love a fast-paced game, but I'm more interested in having a good one.

Anaconda July 25th, 2011 05:26 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

I just got stuck at my parents-in-law for few hours too long, and couldnt even access internet.

Poor and peace loving C'tis is being overrun by the alliance of drowned god and red god of flames.

Join our war effort in order to crush warmongerers and make my dominion a safer place!

Hey! My god isn't drowned! He's... just slightly water logged is all.

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

It's always fun to see a random event for the first time, even if it doesn't change strategy or anything. Patala has a free animist (providing no path benefit whatsoever) and a couple dozen free wolves (providing a nice markata-population control solution).

Anaconda July 31st, 2011 04:15 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

I posted my turn.

It might be so that I cant play the next trn before late night friday, so feel free to switch me to AI if ur not willing to postpone the host.

After this turn I might not even got territories left so I dont mind and you might want to keep up the fast pace.

Groundworm August 1st, 2011 02:17 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

Given that C'tis has only their capital left, I think turning him over to the AI and maintaining our fast turns might be best for the game as a whole.

Unless there's any disagreement, I'll turn C'tis over to the AI later today.

AfroSquirrel August 1st, 2011 11:14 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

Another turn already? Well then.

Anaconda August 3rd, 2011 08:57 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

is AI C'tis still alive?

tratorix August 3rd, 2011 02:17 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

For another turn or two, until marignon finishes sieging their capital.

Groundworm August 5th, 2011 01:00 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

I actually wasn't able to set them AI, so you should still have control of your nation. Now, all you have to do is get it back from Marignon and Atlantis. :)

Anaconda August 6th, 2011 06:31 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

lol,

why they didnt finish it?

tratorix August 6th, 2011 12:40 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

C'tis and Patala, would you guys mind setting yourselves to AI if you're not going to take turns anymore? It's kind of holding up the game when we have to wait for you two to stall every turn.

Catquiet August 7th, 2011 07:07 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

Ack... Foul Vapors and enough skelly spam to hold me at the gate.

AfroSquirrel August 8th, 2011 02:57 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

Sorry; I got a new laptop just before a brief trip, and when copying programs over to it Dom3 somehow got overlooked. I plan to play this game through to the end, and won't stale again.

Why couldn't you have just gone AI you jerk?

Anaconda August 9th, 2011 11:00 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

I turned C'tis computer controlled and sent the turn, is that it or should I have done something else?

Groundworm August 10th, 2011 10:46 AM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

Nope, that's all, Anaconda.

Well played, and glad to have had you in the game. I'm sure Marignon will agree that you caused a decent amount of damage before you left!

tratorix August 11th, 2011 01:41 PM

Re: Faithless- LA game for intermediate players (running)

Catquiet would you hurry up and kill AI C'tis already? He just assassinated one of my mages.
