Dreadful fates - LA -

Another mid-size game (8-12players) for all those who like fast paced game and diplomacy/communication.

Concerning mods i'm planning to set latest CBM and also willing to add some others if asked and approved by most.

Concerning the map i had in mind Aran if we are nearer to 8 players than 12. otherwise Urraparand sounds good. But like all settings it can be discussed. (If we have queries from players i will do a poll before launching the game to add/change mods/settings/maps)

ERA: Late Age
MAP: Aran / Urraparand
Turns RATE: 36h until majority want more.
Players: 8-12
Mods: ...CBM 1.92
.............Streamers & Standards (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=39989)
Victory condition : Until survivors agree for a winner ... or to the death !
Diplomacy : Everything is allowed.

Settings:
Special site frequency:50
Renaming:On
Score graphs:Off
Hall of fame entries:15
Everything else default.

And ofc the usual restrictions concerning bogus orders, filling enemy labs, Army blocking and being a douche bag.

Nations:

Bullock - Ermor
Kasnavada - Ulm (AAR Reporter!)
Dojango - Jomon
Ossa - Marignon
Umsolfunolanis - C'tis
Scaramuccia - Atlantis
LongBrodie - Tien Chi
Jiggymike - Man
Anaconda - Pythium
Arnob - Pangea
Huitochka - Bogarus
Timpaman - Caelum

Great idea ! I m wondering if it has to be a mandatory mod for every1? Can some1 join the game without it ?

I ll find a link to the mod and put it and the OP.

Also i didn't manage to found the latest version of the map, does any1 has it ?

@longbrodie: I hope Soyweiser won't join so i ll be free to show you the full power of Ermor :p

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Recruiting

I'd like to join if super wet noobs are allowed, I don't really mind if I get destroyed but I might be a little poor on etiquette and general play happenings. If that's cool, I'll pick a nation later - I'm not really that concerned with who I get, since I don't know any of them well enough to care (have played the least LA).

Bullock September 14th, 2011 08:22 PM

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Recruiting

Well if those already in have nothing against
and
If you have practiced enough Solo Play to have a descent knowledge of the game
and
If you are sure you can handle the 36h/turn as well as fighting 'til the end (i mean your end :p)

I would be glad to see you in.

@Soyweiser: Ofc all those jokes above are ... jokes. I would be pleased to have you as well in the game. :)

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Recruiting

I've been playing a bunch of SP lately so I shouldn't be too awful, I think I'll just be lost on the whole MP dynamic. Also haven't tried new CBM yet but am currently playing with 1.84. I promise to at least try my best and I'll get my turns in, 36 hours is a ton of time.

I'll take Man.

Just so we get this out of the way now, what are lab filling and army blocking?

Bullock September 14th, 2011 11:27 PM

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Recruiting

Alright so unless some1 is against your participation i ll put u in.

About CBM i recommend you to have a look to the latest post on the subject. (but if you know CBM 1.84 you know the major change with vanilla)

Lab filling means you are not allowed to send some crappy stuff to fulfill the opponent lab so he can t build his own stuff.

Army blocking is the fact of sending a lonely commander or scout against an army with the purpose of probing or just generate a fight so his army will defend instead of moving.

@ anaconda : ofc welcome in !

@Arnob: Ca fera 3 francais, ca risque de faire beaucoup :p
You are welcome in if you think you can handle the 36h clock.

If so there is only 2 slots left !

Huitochka September 16th, 2011 08:26 AM

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Recruiting

Bogarus time! I think i can handle one game now.

Anaconda September 16th, 2011 08:39 AM

I reserver the last slot for my friend.

He hasnt played MPs here before but promised to join this one, and his working his way through signing-in process as soon as possible.

Bullock September 16th, 2011 09:13 AM

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Recruiting

It seems we are full then !
I will launch the game as soon as i put my hand on the latest version of the map, so get your pretender ready !

Anaconda give me his name and his nation choice to update the OP.

Dont forget to put the streamers mod, i gave it a try it s worth it :).
The game should be available soon for pretenders.

Bullock September 16th, 2011 09:47 AM

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Recruiting

Well the latest version of the map i found seriously lacks of bridge.
I know there is an other version with more bridge but i can't find it. (there is one on lama but with no download link)

But while i was searching for this map i found an other one which looks very nice, but unfortunately smaller. I post the 2 links of the maps (one is in a package.)

Atm i set Shadowshore for our game unless some1 find the latest Urraparand or if you want to play the map with the very few bridges.

The game is ready to receive pretenders !

Urraparand:

I don't know so don't take risk and do it with the mod enabled.

Btw here is the link of the game:
http://www.llamaserver.net/gameinfo....Dreadful_fates

PS: Don't forget that you shouldn't put a password to your pretender.

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Send pretenders in !

Also, who does it work with current CBM when I am angaged in playing several games using the earlier version.

I just switch it on and off accordingly?

No you just need to turn it on at the pretender creation.
After that the game is doing the work alone when you are playing each game.

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Send pretenders in !

Really, game will turn it on and off automatically when needed?

yes you can even try it.
Set some mods different from those of a saved game.
If you load the saved game and then come back to the mods list you will see that different mods are enabled.

Shadowshore looks really nice. So, my vote for that map.
The other one is a wraparound which I don't like so much.

Shadowshore looks nice!

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Send pretenders in !

I don't care which map we use but I'd prefer to use the one with the proper bridging, so I think we should Shadowshore just for that purpose.

When were you hoping to start the game? I will be out of town tonight and tomorrow, so as long as our first turn isn't due until sometime Sunday I should be fine. I'll try to get my pretender in today, though.

Jiggymike September 16th, 2011 05:12 PM

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Send pretenders in !

Also I don't know how to send my pretender, or if I set up the map correctly (just put it in my mods folder?) If I am being too difficult you can kick me out, it's cool. I would like to play, though, and I usually get how to do things in one or two tries.

Nvm figured it out, except not sure on the map.

OK got the map too now, ready to go!

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - Send pretenders in !

I m planning to start asap when all pretenders are in.
And the 1rt turn will have a 48h length so don't worry.

I found a "Chelms" pretender so i kicked him.

Re: Dreadful fates - LA - (Running)

Hate to do this so early in the game, but I'll be traveling (and without internet access) for the next couple days. I'd appreciate it if we could delay the next turn by 48 hours.
