Bump. Let's see if we can get a final player.

Deathblob September 24th, 2011 07:08 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - recruiting 5/4

Since it's no diplo anyway, you could always cross-post the game here to try to fill the last spot:

game has been set up!

Quality opponents?

You can't be talking about me. I'll keep you entertained for a while though.

earcaraxe September 27th, 2011 07:40 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

tigerblood: yes, i was referring to valerius, soyweiser and ghoul.

guys, this speed is incredible, we gonna finish this game by weekend if we keep it up :D

so far im really enjoying it, its like playing vs the AI, i get the turn instantly.

Valerius September 27th, 2011 03:56 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

Yes, the speed is great. :) Seems like we've done a half dozen turns in the last day. Unfortunately, I was the last one to submit for most of those. Normally I'd immediately send in my next turn if I was last, but due to some poor decisions early on I actually had to think about these turns more than is normal for the early game. Otherwise we might have gotten yet another couple of turns in.

Soyweiser September 28th, 2011 02:52 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

Are we allowed to talk about the game or not? I have a lot of random events I would like to ***** about ;).

earcaraxe September 28th, 2011 02:57 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

according to my opinion, and the customs in my no diplo games, this kind of meta-game talk is allowed, after all we are in it for the fun, and im very curious of these *stories*.

TigerBlood September 28th, 2011 05:10 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

So far I have had a steady stream of bad events. Nothing too serious though.

A false prophet appeared as soon as I began expansion.
A riot event that raised tensions and set everyone on edge.
Bandits
Barbarians also had the misfortune of invading a province my site searchers were in.

On the plus side, a hero arrived at the gates of my city. One I have never seen before. Plus 200 gold.

I hope noone received any crippling events, though I suppose the game has moved to the point where losing a temple or lab is not a game breaking occurence.

earcaraxe September 29th, 2011 01:49 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

my favorite so far is the "... raised a temple ..." and "... an earthquake has struck ... destroying the temple ..." in the same turn and province :D

(not in this game tho)

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

i bet valerius forgot to pay dagan 2 turns ago, thats why he was unemployed for a brief period. :D

it happens to me too :)

Soyweiser September 29th, 2011 03:38 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

I have neutral luck scales, and only had unrest events so far. (ow, and 2 nature gems...). Sigh.

So the stars lines are wormholes you can travel throuh. Interesting

For the longest time I could never even remember to check the available mercs. I've gotten better about that but now I forget to renew their contracts half the time. :p

Speaking of mercs, I was surprised no one went for the longbowmen that were available a few turns ago. Those usually get taken. But maybe it was too late in the expansion phase or everyone was confident enough in their own troops. I would have grabbed them for the base asking price but figured someone would outbid me and I didn't want to spend a fortune on them.

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

There is a bug in the current CBM, the site "metropolitus Nautilus" produces wild ettins for 0 gold and 1 resource. I have seen one at an ermorian province, and given ermors research, so seems this ettin is from that site. isnt it?

ghoul31 October 6th, 2011 04:18 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

They are from shambler city. Do you want me to not use them?

earcaraxe October 6th, 2011 04:28 PM

oh, so there r more than one sites for it.

i would like u to not use them.

I'm dead. Thanks for the quick and dirty game people.

thanks for playing Soyweiser!

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

Is it ok to send another player gems (there has been no other diplomatic contact)? My assumption would be no but I've just started playing no diplo games recently so I thought I'd check.

in my opinion it is ok. whats more, in the no-diplo games i admined it was kinda customary to do so.

Soyweiser October 13th, 2011 01:57 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

I randomly gave all the gems away. Everybody got something. Sorry forgot about the whole no diplo thing and that it would effect gems.

Valerius October 14th, 2011 09:08 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

Stupid movement bug. That was a waste of mages and troops. It's been a few years since I've been hit with that. I wonder if moving troops from multiple provinces into one target province triggers it? Regardless, iirc I'll need to move the "stuck" units to a different province to free them.

earcaraxe October 14th, 2011 09:43 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

stuck units? what do u mean? i think u havent encountered that bug yet.

Valerius October 15th, 2011 04:02 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

I sent forces from provinces A, B and C to attack Machaka in province D. Unfortunately for me, my main army in A didn't move. I checked the previous turn and the move orders were there - the game just ignored them. IIRC in a case like this you have to send the forces that were stuck to a different province than originally planned or the movement orders will just get ignored again. This is bad for several reasons but there's nothing to be done about it.

Also, I'm not sure if I'll have much time for turns this weekend. Could you postpone hosting for the current turn by 24 hours? Thanks!

earcaraxe October 15th, 2011 04:30 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

thanks for the answer.

hosting postponed by 24 hrs.

earcaraxe October 20th, 2011 05:31 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

due to the relative unforetellableness of my weekend i made hosting more tolerant for the next few days.

ghoul31 October 31st, 2011 05:57 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

I hate when pepople get their *** kicked in battle, so they have to go for the cheap dom kill win.

earcaraxe October 31st, 2011 07:48 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

tell me something: why didnt u move with ur huge army in the forest? it stood there for 3 turns.

Valerius October 31st, 2011 02:18 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

I was watching Ermor's dominion dropping the past few turns and kept hoping he'd notice since I figured if he set his H3s to preaching it should keep him alive. Or maybe he was and it wasn't enough?

Earcaraxe, can we increase the hosting to at least 36 hours?

earcaraxe October 31st, 2011 02:40 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

no problem, hosting set to 36 hrs.

earcaraxe October 31st, 2011 02:43 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

Remember when we played a couple duels?

it was 1:1 so its fitting to settle it now :D

Valerius October 31st, 2011 03:43 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

Thanks for the hosting change. We've got a nice pace going but I've been struggling to keep up (if Celebrities ends that would help a lot).

Yes, those duels were fun. But you really should be playing Man, not Aby. :) I'm obviously still stuck on Eriu. More than ever, actually - the latest CBM version is so much fun.

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

is there a ritual that destroys temples by the event "earthquake"?

Valerius November 3rd, 2011 03:11 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

Not that I know of. I don't think Volcanic Eruption targets temples, though I know from harsh experience that it can trash your economy.

In any case, I didn't cast a ritual spell at you so if you lost a temple it was a random event.

earcaraxe November 3rd, 2011 03:14 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

I have lost two of them last turn :D

Valerius November 3rd, 2011 03:16 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

Well, that's good news but I can't take the credit for it. :p

Valerius November 3rd, 2011 03:24 AM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

I just sent in my turn but it looks like the server is locked up. I know it should go through the queue before hosting game but could you add time to the clock just in case? Thanks!

earcaraxe November 10th, 2011 06:43 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

I due to RL events I postponed the hosting by a couple hours. I hope u didnt mind.

Which actualizes the long-lingering question in me: Why do u wait for the last minute to send ur turn in?

Not at all; you saved me from either a stale or a horribly rushed turn.

I'ts not that I'm holding back sending the turn - I usually don't have it done until about a half an hour before deadline. When Celebrities ended it helped a lot to free up time but this week has turned out to be very busy in RL so I've again been getting the turns in just in time.

earcaraxe November 10th, 2011 07:46 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

im happy to hear the postponing came in handy for u!

I asked because it seemed to me, that whatever the deadline is u sned in just before, and i started to wonder how this habit doesnt intefere with ur sleep :)

Valerius November 15th, 2011 12:12 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

#$&@$! I meant to send myself a turn I had begun working on and instead submitted it to the server.

earcaraxe November 15th, 2011 01:39 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

aow. would u like me to rewind the last turn?

when i saw u posting right after i got my turn (but before i had a look at it) i was sure i had won. im surprised u are still alive.

Valerius November 15th, 2011 05:54 PM

Re: high five - no diplo - started!

Thanks, but let's keep playing as I've already looked at the turn and so can't complete an unbiased turn.
