How lucky can you be?

Pendant of Luck.
Personal Luck spell or Luck spell.
Lucky Coin shield?
Anything else?

I guess they're all the "same" luck, and no "stacking"?

If a province has "Luck" (or Misfortune), that's a different luck which doesn't affect battles at all, right?

There's also the one-handed sword "faithful" which grants the lucky status to the wielder. There are also two mass versions of the luck spell which effect a radius of 5 and the entire battlefield. And an artifact or two which cast those spells.

And no, luck effects don't stack and no, the Luck/Misfortune scales for a dominion do not affect battles.

Re: How lucky can you be?

The Astral bless at 9 gives a 1 time pseudoshield effect, as to the Twist Fate spell. It's not the same, but it might be nice to say so just for sake of completeness.

Thank you!

Now, I assume Twist Fate is a different thingie and so "stacks". Does it come before or after luck, do you know? Be better if it comes after.....

Don't forget the Sword of Augheimer (or whatever it's called).

Re: How lucky can you be?

Twist Fate (and Astral 9 bless) came right after everything else. Once you have checked for Awe, Luck, Etherealness, Blood Vengeance, Miss/parry chance, and everything else, if you are hit, Twist Fate / S9 bless ignore the first hit.

Assuming my memory isn't horribly wrong, that sword is about as far away from a luck granting item as possible, from the perspective of the wielder. From the perspective of everyone else on the battlefield, it is amazing.

Re: How lucky can you be?

Well, the wielder does get luck when using the sword, even if he does get cursed as well.

Being cursed isn't a big deal, especially if you're also lucky.

Re: How lucky can you be?

So now I want to cast "Doom" in battle. That curses enemy units, causing them "bad luck" in combat...

What is "bad luck"? If "good luck" is: once decided hit has reached, 25(?)% chance no effect", how can "bad luck" increase anything?

Is bad luck negative luck? Does it stick with you? Can you "cancel" it with "good" luck? If I cast "Personal Luck" when I already have "Luck Charm" item on me, but opponent curses me with Doom, does that cancel just 1 of the 2 "good luck" "slots", so it was worth having both initial buffs?

Is it just me who wonders about these things...?

Luck has 50%(!) chance to ignore a hit.
Curse has the effect to double the probability of getting afflictions. It has nothing to do with luck.

Oooohhhhhh.... So when the tooltip says "Cursed units have bad luck in combat", that's a bit of a fib/misleading/unclear??

It's unclear, but nothing else. Basically, there is Luck, and then there is luck. Getting wounded twice as often is bad luck, but not bad Luck. Bad luck is very broad, bad Luck would be something along the lines of having a 50% chance to get hit right after being missed - it doesn't actually exist as a mechanic, so that would be speculation.

Re: How lucky can you be?

A lot of common words that are used to describe effects are effects themselves. "Luck" is an example of such a word.

Re: How lucky can you be?

iirc there is one rare unit (perhaps a horror) that has a special curse luck attack that does something else than simply curse. But I never really encountered that one :D
