Favorite Heroes

Playing a game with LA Bogarus for the first time and I received a hero Koschei who had a hilarious background and story (pretty good hero too!).

Just curious if there are other favorites out there?

Skögu is my favorite just for the crazy random events he causes:

"Having waited for hundreds of years, Skögu was finally approached by his former lover. Filled with rage and lust and hunger, he slew her, ate her and mourned her by killing ten percent of the population."

I like Koschei, and I always try to fulfill my promise of giving him back his youth. I've yet to succeed, of course. It takes an astronomical amount of blood slaves + nature gems.

I also like Baal Chozron, from Abysia, and Burkhart Nachtzehrer from LA Ulm. And that cardinal guy from Marignon.

I actually took the time to rejuvenate Koschei, through a combination of Nature empowerment, Blood empowerment, Boots of Youth and Rejuvenation. Probably not going to happen out of SP. Took over 30 turns. Nice stats, but nothing special happened once he regained his youth.

My favourite hero would be Taurotyrranos. I always used to use him to get Pan's blood economy fired up when he appeared in Middle or Late age. In an EA game I game him a Black Heart and was surprised at what an effective and versatile assassin he was.

Knights of the Stone from MA Man, because of their quest random events.

"The Black Terror" for Bandar Log is the most AWESOME hero ever.

I also like the "Hanged King" hero for Helheim. (might be CBM only?)

Is there any way to mod in increased chances for hero appearance? All the hero's are pretty awesome and it would be great to play a game where they came around a little more often than they do now.

If it is, CBM people dropped the ball. Hanged king is exactly what Hangadrott means.

Koschei the Deathless is awesome, but Baba Yaga is probably one of the most powerful national heroes in the game. Honestly, Bogarus, Age of Heroes, probably has the best heroes in the game, but it makes too much sense to take misfortune with them that you rarely see them. I do like that Black Forest Ulm has a Ghoul Lord who has +4 Halt Heretic. Honestly, I would love additional design points that would just increase National Hero appearance. Taking general misfortune to increase the appearance of heroes would make the game far more enjoyable to me.

Ah yes, the Ghoul Lord is awesome (though situational). Still, a source of undead ghouls and ghoul guardians, so great.

Personally, prefer the vampire baron. He's just...so...

If only he had death for soul vortexes. Oh well.

Sadly not possible

If only he could keep his life draining bite attack when you replace his weapon. I mean really, it doesn't make any sense that he and other vampires stop being able to bite because you hand them a sword or shield.

In CBM, he does.

Re: Favorite Heroes

You sure about that? I definitely remember giving him a weapon and he lost his bite attack in the latest CBM. Definitely other vampires still lose theirs.

Yeah, who needs to be a good fighter when you do 50 aoe damage. He can also reach pretty impressive levels of protection.

Also, he's a seducer so he makes a pretty good assassin as well.

There is only one question that we can ask... Does his club give a penetration bonus?
