Scenarios for the next patch
I now have time to take submissions of scenarios for inclusion in the next patch. If you have posted them on these forums I will need them gathered together in one zip. Don't worry about the slot number, I will sort that out when I get them. Please zip them up then post them to this thread by March 14th at the latest. WinSPWW2 has fewer data changes this time around than winSPMBT but there is still a 50/50 chance they will need adjustments and I will do that once I have them. This will ensure any scenario you submit will be fully compatible with the next patch when it is released. Please don't wait until the last minute. The sooner I get them the sooner I can sort them out and make any correction and that gets the next patch out sooner for everyone so aiming for this Sunday would be "a good thing" Thanks Don |
Re: Scenarios for the next patch
Roger that,
I've got a scenario for MBT and a scenario and a campaign for WW2. I should be able to have them ready by the 14th. |
Re: Scenarios for the next patch
Thanks. I know there are scenarios posted on this forum but I cannot guess if they are the final version which is why I'm asking for anything anyone would like included and upgraded with the latest OOB changes be zipped up and posted here and I will sort them out and get them into the next upgrade.

OK here it is,
Kursk, 7 battles, Fixed core based on 8 Kompanie(Tigers), 2nd Pz Rgt of 2nd SS PzGren Div "Das Reich". This Campaign is semi-historical and culminates in the Epic tank battle of Prokhorovka (which I will post here by tomorrow as a stand alone scenario). This is the first user campaign I have designed on my own. I have more than 200 hours invested. I hope everyone enjoys it because I certainly did. |

Pebbles in the flood
Date: June 28, 1944 Battle Location: Near Minsk, Belorussia Battle Type: Germany delay vs Russia advance Commander, I'm not going to lie to you: The situation is bad. We are getting conflicting reports by retreating troops, but it seems the Russians have broken through our lines in several places. Russian tanks and motorised infantry are heading for our rear areas, hoping to encircle our troops. It is imperative to deny them use of important bridges and crossroads. The heavy Tiger tanks and Panzergrenadiers of Kampfgruppe von Saucken are on their way to stabilize the situation. Until they reach your position, you will have to delay the superior Russian forces using what you have at your disposal. You have several second line formations under your command: A depleted company of pioneers is on its way to take up blocking positions. They were supposed to fix roads in the rear areas, but now they will have to demonstrate their fighting abilities. They have acquired two aa guns and a captured Russian field gun.* Elements of a security division and a unit Feldjaeger (military police) have already taken up positions in a village in the south, guarding the bridge there. They are determined to fight, but lack all but the most basic of anti tank weapons. A Luftwaffe Flak battery is dug in on one of the hills in our rear. Their guns could be useful, but they are sighted for anti air operations. The battery lacks motorisation to move the guns. Use any truck or wagon you can find to bring these guns into a more favorable position. The battery also has a security detachment that could fight as infantry. The beaten remnants of front divisions are still retreating towards your position. Feel free to incorporate them into your defense in whatever way you wish. However, be careful! There are reports of Russians using captured tanks and uniforms, posing as retreating German troops. Don't let the bolshevists fool you! It is of vital importance, that the Russians are delayed long enough for our tanks to arrive. Get to it! Notes: If played against the AI the human player should take the Germany side. And the maps.

Re: Scenarios for the next patch
When you see the campaign and Prokhorovka as a scenario when the patch is released you will find all your units now have SS ranks rather than the standard Heer ranks.
A little known and rarely used feature of the game is that you can produces SS ranks in the game when you change the leaders Nation ID from 16 to 0 with ScenHack. :) Don |

Hello Don,
here they are. - no 580 should replace the old Tarawa scenario (no 400) - no 575 is the Steyerberg 1945 scenario (new) - no 476 - 478 are the Ie Shima 1 -3 scenarios (new). Greetings Chris |

Re: Scenarios for the next patch
Ts,
I'm a bit puzzled by the German Setup. Why are the 4x E unit (Feldgarme) Trucks, the H2 Pak40 and the N1,N2 76.3 Pak & their associated trucks in the Zero hex (the grey western border) at start?? Even though they are in the initial at-start units. They are just not accessible/usable from these positions. Otherwise, looks like a challenging scenario. |
Re: Scenarios for the next patch
I didn't want them to be usable, but there are no single at gun units or a feldgendarm unit without trucks. Is there another way to deal with this problem?

Just buy an extra Sec/Plt, assign the units that you don't want to use to it using the reassign button in Editor (arrow button near right top), and delete the extra Sec/Plt. Problem solved. Cheers! |
Re: Scenarios for the next patch
Ts....... check your PM's and the scenarios been corrected but you might want to experiment with this on your own. A good "formation" to buy is a single panzer from the Misc section then load all the unwanted units into that formation then delete.
Please do not send me a replacement. I have already corrected a couple of map errors to this scenario ( the big one was the west end of the north bridge was "under water" ) Don |

Re: Scenarios for the next patch
Cameronius I just started playing the campaign. One little thing (nitpick, really): The first G43 rifles reched the frontlines in October 1943. Other than that, looks good!

Re: Scenarios for the next patch
That's an OOB problem, not a scenario design one, I picked the best units available for the core, because you are going to need them. Feel free to let me know of any other problems that you find. I have playtested the Campaign myself, but no-one else has.
Thanks, |
Re: Scenarios for the next patch
The date of introduction for that weapon was changed three years ago so this campaign has been under development for at least that long. You cannot buy a G43 unit in 7/43 now but you could before Nov 2009.
They were in field trials before October 1943 which is why the two units available in August and September are set to "rare" for the AI. NOBODY ( but the truly obsessed ) should loose any sleep that it's a Gewehr 43 instead of a Gewehr 41. Don |

I have been working on it for the past 6 months or so. I have been using an older installation (v2.5) to do most of the design work, then tweaking and testing on the newest installation. I hope this won't cause any issues. |
Re: Scenarios for the next patch
Any "issues" encountered by using an old installation have been addressed and corrected but I really cannot imagine why anyone would use a six year old version of the game to build a campaign so, despite the claim made a couple posts back this is NOT an "OOB problem" and IS a scenario designer one. Had the current version of the game been used when selecting units the issue at hand, minor though it is, would never occurred.
