Re: CBM changes...

I believe the changelog for the last version of CBM (which contained a large portion of the item changes) was pretty complete. Before that I couldn't say.

If you're really interested in the Ark, just open the mod in notepad and search for "ark".

Does the changelog cover all changes from vanilla in a decently concise form? I think not*.

*I haven't checked, and might be wrong.

??

What do you want to know?

Is this a question a remark? A request for change?

CBM never had a complete change log. People started writing it, but nobody helped with the project so the project staled.

Its okay, I'm building it and will get back to you if I spot any differences...

And as far as reading the change log...

I'd rather jump off a perfectly good airplane than subject myself to reading that again...

Nothing to see here...

Move along...

Searching the mod file is the easiest way to find out if a particular item has changed in my experience. I think Dom3Editor (available in the mods forum) might also do a diff for you, between an item, unit or spell in a given mod and its vanilla settings. Certainly this was being tested at one point, so it's worth a look.

Okay, thanks...

I do notice the Hammer of the forge lord doesn't give a discount on forge of the ancients...

:(

Re: CBM changes...

I think that was always in the game.

Re: CBM changes...

Nah, in vanilla hammers work on FOTA...

I think I'm about done with this cbm...

In fact I'm thinking about starting a new Vanilla game where there are no disallowed 'exploits'...

In my local group we use all of them...

:D

Re: CBM changes...

You can look through the mod file. The only changes to Hammer of the Forge Lord in CBM is making it harder and more expensive to forge, and hit harder in combat (as if that's ever going to happen).

If you mean the global doesn't stack with the hammer in reducing forging costs, I assure you that you're wrong.

Re: CBM changes...

Sorry for not being more clear, it used to make the cost of casting the global cheaper...

Re: CBM changes...

I just tested this in a vanilla game and the hammer didn't provide a discount to FotA. I don't think that it ever did, but if so, it was changed by IW in a patch.

Re: CBM changes...

Oh really... I used dwarven hammers to do it before...

Thanks for the update.

I was really upset about it...

I used to rely on that trick to forge stuff on the cheap...

I'll double check that.

;)

Re: CBM changes...

I wonder if you're thinking of a magic site that provided a discount to casting the spell? I think that would work. And if you only plan on it staying up one turn anyway that could work out nicely. But if you plan on keeping it up then you'll undoubtedly want to put extra gems into the casting and the discount site won't matter since you won't get credit for the extra gems until you get past the base price of 80 gems.

Anyway, the casting cost is no big deal either way. One turn worth of discounted forging alone will make up for your base cost. ;)
