Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Just FYI, Arnob, aka, Agartha, just broke a nAP 3 with me, no notice.

I'll add his name to my list of people to never NAP mwith again.

Bullock April 9th, 2012 02:24 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Guys do you want to switch to 48h or you want more turn at 30h/turn ?

mockingbird April 9th, 2012 02:44 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

I am in favor of 48 hour turns at this point.

Stagger Lee April 9th, 2012 05:22 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

I could use more time, yes.

Bullock April 10th, 2012 07:26 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

ok switched.

arnob April 14th, 2012 07:33 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Hello All

I think I must apologize on this one : In fact I though that NAP3 mean a non-agression pact for 3 turns and I didn't know that mean that you have to wait 3 turns after declare war to invade someone.

I even propose to Mockingbird an unlimited NAP, which is stupid, now I know what's NAP3 really means ...

Arnob

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

The Ministry of Making a Silk Purse out of a Sow's Ear would like to thank the good citizens of Agartha for the training exercise at the gates of Niefelheim. We will be back, having (hopefully) learned something. Hope to see you there. :)

ooc - Are you still with us Arnob?

Yeah good question.

I'll postpone the current turn for 48h

Stagger Lee May 11th, 2012 07:41 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

I sent arnob a pm, but he hasn't logged in for over a week. Should we look for a sub?

Bullock May 11th, 2012 11:37 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Yeah i will look for a sub ... that sux.

I postponed the turn for 72h, if by that time i have no sub i will turn agartha AI.

Stagger Lee May 11th, 2012 09:06 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

We may nave a solution. I offered to sub in Awestruck and Amhazair will contact you soon.

Amhazair May 12th, 2012 10:05 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Hello all. As Stagger Lee said, he's recruited me to organise Agartha's last stand. (That's what it looks like being at least going from the llamaserver graphs) I do seem to need the "llamaBanners" mod, which I apparently don't have, nor can find on the llamaserver itself. (perhaps it's named differently there?) Could anyone point me towards it?

Bullock May 12th, 2012 10:18 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Thx both of you for finding a sub and subbing !

Cheers

Calahan May 12th, 2012 10:19 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

You fell for one of llama's tricks Amhazair, as he often likes to give his mods file names that have nothing in common with the name of the mod. (as llama feeds off the frustration caused by hunting for his mod files)

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=39989

ps - If like me you don't like the flag changes that the mod makes (especially for non all age games), then just delete everything in the file apart from the line at the top that reads...

#modname "Streamers & Standards, Llama's version"

As the mod is only a graphics overlay, and to access the turn file the game only has to be satisfied that a mod by the correct name exists. In this case it wants llamabanner.dm, and to exist a mod only needs the single command line...

#modname "insert at least one character here"

Bullock May 12th, 2012 10:29 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Thx calahan, I forgot to answer Amhazair's question

Amhazair May 12th, 2012 11:18 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

I've seen the turn now, I'll probably have to sleep on it to figure out what would be the best way to annoy my esteemed opponent, but should be able to turn in my turn by tomorrow.

Amhazair May 13th, 2012 11:35 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Some observations after thorough digesting what I've ended up with:

* How on earth can a previously succesful nations have so unbelievably few items? (Of course, I don't know what was lost during possible earlier batlles, but still... it's quite ridiculous.)
* Where are my scouts? How am I supposed to know what to do if I have no scouts?
* Why are two entire castles of priest-mages preaching instead of researching while dominion isn't really a problem at the moment. (And dominion can't go higher from them preaching where they are)

Other than that I'm quite ready to move on. :)

Bullock May 14th, 2012 01:09 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Well it was not very experienced players :)

BTw i've lost 2 SCs, fully geared with unique stuff & so, in time and space after the very first turn they were wearing the gears. (astral boots & kurgi gift) isn't that misfortune ??

Bullock May 21st, 2012 02:30 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Well, since my opponent is barely down, i think it's a good time to prepare another war. So i'm officially breaking my nap with TC and hostilities may start turn 52.

Stagger Lee May 22nd, 2012 01:51 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Can I get another 24hrs please? Couldn't look at the turn last night.

We are going away this weekend - Memorial Day in the states. Big summer kickoff family gathering in the mountains. Can the turn over the weekend be extended also please?

Thanks

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

alright, maybe remind for this week end but should be good

Stagger Lee May 25th, 2012 12:27 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

I'm sorry but I coudldn't get my turn done before leaving. Can you add 48hrs? I may not have any access at all.

Bullock May 27th, 2012 05:02 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

a quick msg to say it has been done.
I did it from my smartphone and was too lazy too post here from it. (slow & boring)

Cheers

Stagger Lee May 29th, 2012 03:04 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Thanks again, and glad you added more than I asked for, as now I'm home but the power has gone out and not sure for how long.

Stagger Lee May 30th, 2012 09:04 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

I continue to amaze myself with my terrible scripting this game. I should have tested that, but I never dreamed he would spend 13 gems on that first spell.

Anyway, Amhazair, would it surprise you to know that my pretender is alive and well and in possession of all his items, faculties, and limbs? And is even now preparing more mind numbingly foolish escapades to spice up his epitaph? Beware all who dote on conventional warfare! Gaze upon the face of your new god and say with great conviction: "Tso Wat!"

:p

I noticed him on my scouting report. (Though of course I didn't know about his limbs and stuff from that. :)) Is it a (display) bug of some kind? I don't think I missed anything in that battle that explains him being alive, did I?

Stagger Lee May 31st, 2012 10:29 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

I've encountered the replay bug twice that I can remember. Both times I watched victories that didn't happen. Was there a scout from another nation watching that battle in the second forest (45)? Every time I've heard of the replay bug, somebody saw the actual results.

I'm going to try to dissect the debug log, or maybe look for help on irc. I'm not sure why he's there at all.

Bullock June 1st, 2012 06:24 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

yeah i ve met this bug several times, and to my point of view it's the worth bug of this game. You are never sure to see in motioned battle what really happen. And i think this bug is happening more often than we think but remain unnoticed most of the time.

Stagger Lee June 2nd, 2012 12:51 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

%^&#$%^EGAD&%&*(&^%$!

A friend who tried to help me suggested I move the game folder because of my windows7 security crap and I sent in an empty turn! Aughhhh!

&%#%^&$!

No, I don't want a rollback. F*** me!

but give me 24hrs to figure out what I did & didn't do plz?

Bullock June 2nd, 2012 05:31 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

sure it's done

Amhazair June 2nd, 2012 10:14 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Ah, so that's what happened. I had the impression you didn't move much, so I went to check for stales and you didn't. So I figured it was just strategy. (With the massive scout network I inherited I have a very good view about what happens outside of my small area of influence...:re:)

Stagger Lee June 10th, 2012 12:28 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

I would like to ask for 24hrs this turn and a permanent switch to 72hr hosting. It's not easy looking for answers right now. Thanks.

Bullock June 10th, 2012 04:35 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Sure it's done.

Bullock June 14th, 2012 03:05 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Well i m willing to accept your surrender Stagger :)

Agartha is now bigger than you i don't see the point to continue this.

Stagger Lee June 15th, 2012 07:51 AM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Size is purely a matter of perspective. Have patience. :)

Amhazair June 15th, 2012 12:24 PM

Re: Dead shores - EA - (Running)

Yes! I'm clearly winning this game. A 50% increase in gem income (the most important graph really) since I subbed into this game clearly means I'm unstopable. Muahahahahaah!
