Baptism of the Black Brigade
There seems to be an error in that the FO (B0) cannot assign arty ever in the campaign.
I guess one could sell it off for one that can it's just a bit aggravating for an otherwise very good campaign:) Also,, should some units be already set at "filtered fire" on deploy, as in the first battle? ,this should be the decision of who is deploying, i would think. |

Well since it has been added to the game, who should fix the problems? Brian |

In this case, it's your campaign and you would be in the best postion to correct it. Don |

Re: Baptism of the Black Brigade
I'm having severe problems getting campaignhack to work. I set the source directory correctly but it doesn't seem to output anything. :(

Re: Baptism of the Black Brigade
Well the first question that springs to mind is do you have the CD version of the game ?
Don |
Re: Baptism of the Black Brigade
Yes, CD version and fully patched. Windows 7 but setup correctly with game in custom path (C:\Games\...), game works fine - campaignhack doesn't.

Re: Baptism of the Black Brigade
Well it should becasue that is in many ways similar to my set up and campaignhack works perfectly
Does CAMPAIGNHACK.INI agree with your actual path ? Don |
Re: Baptism of the Black Brigade
It contains:
Code:
[Form] |
Re: Baptism of the Black Brigade
We will be running some tests of our own soon and we'll get back to you. So far, for me, it works perfectly from a non / program files directory but I run XP. Andy will be checking windows 7.
However, when you say........"it doesn't seem to output anything"....... where did you look for the extracted scenarios ? Here is what my CAMPAIGNHACK.IN looks like [Form] CampaignsConvertSourceDir=C:\Working Games\WinSPWW2\Campaigns\ CampaignsRenumberSourceDir=C:\Working Games\WinSPWW2\Campaigns\ Your convert ConvertSourceDir is just pointing to the main C: drive not where your game actually is Don |
Re: Baptism of the Black Brigade
Thanks for looking into this. I've checked everywhere I can think to look and I'm not seeing any output anywhere. Has me stumped.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a little bug in the programme, and the path is not updated immediately for the extraction tab (at least - did not try the others) . - Probably never noticed by anyone since the default directory suited all users before Windows 7 UAC/File Manglement made using a custom folder a requirement for Vista/7. Solution - exit the programme and restart once you have pointed it to the correct scenarios folder. It seems to read the path properly only on start-up, does not update when running ATM (will fix that at later release). I tried that in both versions of the game, same buglet, (needs to restart to use the new path). Default output is to the 800 block of scenario save slots and up (you can use the up-down control to change that on the extraction tab (3)). Scenario 0 goes to 800, 1 to 801 etc. Cheers Andy |

@ gila: "The first 3 battles begged for an ambush, and that's what the poles do best
I got DV's in all first 3. First battle was dicey at first though. The last one was a different animal all together however, expected more armour so was slow to take all VH's and got an MV in that one, for a total of 12 pt.s for the campaign." Very interesting gila. But I thought we got 3 for DV, 2 for MV, and 1 for draw? My result was 2 MV's (the first 2) and 2 DV's (the last 2)for 10 total and an MV campaign result. Anyway, was there any German armor at all in the last scenario? Didn't see any myself; maybe that's why I got several crashes at the end (after reloading an earlier save and replaying without arty bombardment it finally got through to the campaign result screen). They almost overwhelmed me in the first, what with all the scattered VH's, so I was leery of concentrating anywhere in particular for the second. Guess I shoulda known the AI would go for the bridges, what with the demo charges. Quite an engaging campaign, eh wot? |
