I would like to reserve Shinuyama if possible.

Excist December 5th, 2012 07:27 PM

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - RECRUITING

I'll reserve MA Agartha. I'm realizing my pretender build in my other game is less than optimal.

Is the map too big for 8 persons?

Are you still recruiting? I'd like to give MA pan a try.

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - RECRUITING

Depends on whether you like not meeting another nation until the middle of the 2nd year ;)

Himselfbh,

would you consider finishing Your other game before joining a new one?

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - RECRUITING

Well i'm checking account history to check if players are reliable or not and i missed that. Thx Hurmio. If you have no excuse HimselfBH you are not welcome anymore.

@Evilhomer I'm keeping you in because you are a good player and reliable most of the time, but don't leave a game like u did in gentlemen's struggle (despite the fact i can understand you, some games getting boring on the long run)

@Catquiet: sure, always a pleasure to see you in.

@all: Don't worry for the map, i'll pick something with max 15prov per players~.

There is a lot of experienced players actually, do you think you can handle the level ? If so pick a nation.

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - RECRUITING

What is the status? Would be perfect if we could start this weekend.

I would prefer a smaller map. The Alexander map is kind of confusing has a lot of hills hindering movement and making it a pain to micro-manage if your territory is too large.

Bullock December 8th, 2012 08:53 AM

We are waiting for Ghoul's pretender and it's a go.

I picked the easy way for the map, Plane of Rusty Nails with 9 fixed start. Should be fair and interesting.

Having trouble finding the right version of the Plane of Rusty Nails. Could we have a link please?

Bullock December 8th, 2012 05:31 PM

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

there is only one version as far as i know so use the one you ve found.

Excist December 8th, 2012 06:35 PM

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

The llamaserver map browser had a few versions of the Plane of Rusty Nails.

Searching the forums I guess there is only one thread for it, so I'm taking the most recent one off of it:

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

Just out of curiousity, but does this game's title mean that you play the PC game Frozen Synapse? Or does Frozen Synapse have an actual meaning?

Bullock December 9th, 2012 10:56 AM

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

Both in fact. I tried it a couple of times and it means that i have a lack of imagination to find title for my games :)

Anybody knows if Ghoul31 is stale, or just slow?

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

Go to the game at llamaserver. Choose Admin options. Choose Staling data. You will see that no players in this game have ever staled. Yay us!

Excist December 16th, 2012 10:46 PM

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

Either that or the host keeps extending the turn for somebody that got disappeared by the government a couple of days ago.

Choose admin options, then check turn interval (30 hours in this case) and then see if the current time is more or less than that amount of time since you received your last turn file to determine if the host extended the deadline without letting us know what's up.

Catquiet December 16th, 2012 11:46 PM

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

Bad form, Skymoon, I was entitled to one more turn of protection from our NAP-3.

Oh! Never saw that page. Neat!

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

Pangaea is currently under attack by two nations. This is of interest to the rest of you because one of them is the current game leader Marignon.

Pangaea is going to concentrate it's forces on stopping Vanhiem's advance. The rest of you can deal with Marignon, or allow the strongest nation in the game to grab large chunks of land unopposed.

YellowCactus December 17th, 2012 09:28 PM

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

Thanks for the updata Cat!

Ulm is slowly being consumed by our northern neighbors. Not much help here...

Evilhomer December 18th, 2012 05:29 AM

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

YC I offered you a NAP but you decided to attack me instead. This war has not been beneficial to either of our nations.

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

Oh, I know Homer.
The Pig has made some very bad strategic decisions in this game. I saw you there and thought "Hmmm...Better take out EvilHomer or he'll be a terror later in the game."
Bad strategy! You were strong from the start..hehe. I did get your God down to 1 hit point though. Small victories...

I'm planning, between the 24th Dec until the 2nd of january, to put the timer on 10days with quickhost. which means you don't need to request postpone and still can play asap if u can. Try to play as usual if u can please.

Bullock December 23rd, 2012 06:49 AM

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

Evilhomer is asking for a 36h postpone so i'm already putting the timer on 10D. try to play as usual.

Happy Christmas to all :)

Hello Bullock and everybody -

sorry for the stall - RL got the upper hand (I am just buying a house and my offer got accepted). Because my capital is taken and my god is dead, I would like to ask if it is ok to go to AI. I am happy to continue playing to you think that my position is still too strong.

Excist January 16th, 2013 03:11 AM

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

Congrats on the house!

Consolations for the death of your capitol and god (well...not really.)

I have no complaints if you go AI. You are down to only 1 province, which happens to be one of mine that you were raiding ;).

Not sure that you or AI would behave much differently at this point.

Re: Frozen Synapse - MA - Vet & intermediate - Running

Ok everybody,

here is a little summary of my game. It was really fun, even I am out first :-)

My first goal was trying to maximize my Tuatha with Ironskin and Mistform as good thugs and then to start buffing them with some items.

My start location was left a little in the open with not clear refuge area. While I ran into some strong indies and lost my prophet to some ghouls, by turn 5 I had managed to expand to the south-east and grabbed a farmland. Things were looking good. Shinujama was my neighbour to the south.

By turn 10, things were not looking as rosy anymore. Marignon had aggressively expanded exactly into my direction from the north-east, and in turn 9 Argatha had appeared at my doorstep, taking a province in the north-west, directly next to my capital. It was clear that this meant early war.

Argatha was playing a buff strategy with Quickness and Twist Fate. The first attack on my capital in turn 16 was using around 40 Ancient Ones. Managed to defend them barely using Snake Bladder Stick/Snake Ring Tuatha - knowing that he did not have anything to prevent poison damage. But I could defend with 3 Tuatha at that point and he managed to kill two of them.

I also managed to defend a second attack on my capital, but in the end it fell on the third attack, after Argatha had finally conquered my "Hinterland".

In the end, I tried a little guerilla warfare, but that did not change my fate.

Have fun with the rest of the game.
