How do I?
Make fighter warp capable?
Accoring to the vechile size file ot can be done |
Re: How do I?
I'm sorry, but currently you can't make fighters warp capable without losing their special abilities...
|
Re: How do I?
how do i make ships non-warp-capable without making them stack like fighters?
i dont think i can, but if anyone has ideas... |
Re: How do I?
You can't.
There are a few pre-defined types, and outside those you can't go. Ships- can warp, can move, can't stack Bases- can't warp, can't move, can't stack Fighters- can't warp, can move, can stack Sats- can't warp, can't move, can stack Also, if it can't stack it can't be carried as cargo, and vice versa. Cargo units can not carry cargo themselves- no minelayer sats. Phoenix-D |
Re: How do I?
Here's a wish for SE5, eliminate the difference between "ships" and "units" and make those characteristics definied as abilities such as:
Can jump warp points := True Can be stored as cargo := False ect. |
Re: How do I?
I agree. Dockable ships would be great.

Re: How do I?
I do not know why you would mod movable bases. Why not just create ships instead ???
|
Re: How do I?
While revising the Devnull mod we gave bases a "Station Keeping Engine" That gave the base movement in combat only.
We considered giving them standard movment as well, it is possible after all. But we figured like you said, "What's the point? They they would just be big slow ships, and not bases at all", so we didn't do it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Geoschmo |
Re: How do I?
The station keeping engine is a good idea, let you manuever around the planet a bit.
|
Re: How do I?
The other difference is they have different weapon mounts.

Re: How do I?
Bases can move and warp, if the files are modded to allow engines that is.
There is a hard coded difference though in that bases have have built in endless supply, like what a ship would get if you had a Quantum Reactor. Geoschmo [ 21 January 2002: Message edited by: geoschmo ]</p> |

Re: How do I?
Hmm. I didn't test bases, but combat movement for sats doesn't work.
