Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
tesco samoa,
Thank you, I am honored. You have solved the name issue as well. I will try hard to keep our off toppic banter here along with full activety reports. |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Didn't know you had a name issue ??
|
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Growltigga and I could not agree on a name. I wanted long and descriptive. He wanted short and silly.
You solved it for us. And yes, every one's post are welcome. Oh, and did you notice you created this thread the same time I posted the nead for the thread under: "Supply Ships"? Makes me wonder. [ 29 January 2002: Message edited by: Gryphin ] [ 29 January 2002: Message edited by: Gryphin ]</p> |

Boy, I leave you three by yourselves for several hours, and come back and find you have your own thread http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif
Tesco, I think you have partaken too much of your own sauce to let these two loose on their own thread,,,,who knows the long or short topics, (heh, heh,BMT), these two will come up with. Not like us more mature, sensible ones out here who are interested in the furtherance of one's mind thru meditation and scientific knowledge into the mysteries of the universe. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif just some ideas mac |

""PS. unreliable informants report the Gryphin hasn't been on the forum as much because he has been practicing, getting ready for your international challenge ""
Oh dear oh dear, what does it say about the american psyche that they always feel they need to practice like mad and try and win the game - he will be arguing with the umpires and cheering when he has won next - bloody bad show that's all I can say Guffin, you can rest assurred that everything posted here reflect my tactics - I am happy to give you a complete and accurate synopsis of my gamestyle and design preferences if you wish PS Mac wants to know how many dates you have - I have told him we are talking about sheep here - he doesn't believe that you are a shepherd in real life http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif |

Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
I worked at the Grand Canyon from July 1978 May 1978. The Canyon is beautiful in winder. Make sure you dress for the cold.
I like having a place we can post without interfearing in other threads. Every one is welcome to post here. I would like feed back from the rest of the regulars as to their view of this. Yes, all of my dates know I play the field. I make that clear within the first hour of meeting them. I will quote whomever I like. Please ckeck my web page under "Favorite Poems". I have enjoyed Kipling since I read "The Jungle Bood" in the 5th grade. I missed something in the Posts and don't follow the refferance to tesco being "exempt". I have about 3 to 4 dates a month. I play SE IV about 2 to 6 hours a night. |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Gryphin, check the post at time 1402 on this site for Tesco exemption, talk about nepotism...shhhheeese, just because he has a fox for a cousin, and she's not even on this forum,
Growltigga, yaa, its a little sad, but I can understand and can relate to it, after all, we do have a very slight tendancy to get carried away sometimes, but I understand and have no hard feelings. Besides, this way everyone can take part in our discussions and banter without taking away from serious Posts..In fact, a ways back someone mentioned a general discussion thread, and I thought you mentioned a gryphin-growltigga thread during the International Challenge discussion, what better place then here.. But we can still comment in the other Posts, just adjust to keeping it at a lower level so as not to intrude on the serious topics. I really believe most enjoyed it and that we sometimes just got to carried away, taking away from the actual topic under discussion to the point where everyone forgot what was originally being discussed in the first place. I do not believe any maliciousness is or was intended by anyone, those on this forum are not that way. So perk up, its not everyone who gets their own thread, http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif just some ideas mac |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Not only do we Americans like to practice endlessly, sometimes that practice makes us late showing up for the wars (cf. 1916 and 1941) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
As for Gryphin getting away with dating multiple women at the same time, I'm impressed. I haven't tried that since high school. And it didn't work well there either. Of course, since he claims to be up front about it, his dates are probably seeing multiple men as well; I hope everyone is playing it "safe" when they circle the wagons http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif Finally, I had considered suggesting moving the male posturing to it's own thread, not because it detracted from the serious topics but because I couldn't remember which thread it was in! Now that it's named properly, I can find it again... |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Director Tsaarx, welcome to the G&G thread, In regards to the Gryphin, I know what you mean, dating one was rough, but more then one at the same time?? whew, how does he keep the names straiaght, let alone find the time.... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif One must wonder about his comments back in the beginning about the Gryphin Position (circle the wagons), I wonder, was it really a discussion on the internet as stated, or... manifested in the actual discovery itself through personal research.. hmmmmm http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
DirectorTsaarx,
Thanks for clearing that up. I did notice the "smiley" at the end so I figured it was a good natured poke. Still, it was valid. What I found most ironic is that as I replyed to your post, tesco was creating this thread. You are correct on all accounts. Except for Kasserine Pass, (and a few other "trial by fire" incedents), we may show up late, but we show up trained and fully equipped as well. Dating multible women does have tough moments. Yes they do see others. Sometimes I end up witn no dates on a weekend, *shrug*, My problem. As for the Gryphin Position, maybe I can get one of my dates to post here to help explain it. |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Nah I just figured that this thread will be one of those things you can turn to when your stuck in a 4 hour meeting for a good laugh.
And it has already met that. No harm ment. If there was Sorry. |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
tesco, you can surf the web while you are in a meeting? where do I sign up.
Not sure what you are appologising for. We are on on the same page here, (or is tht in the same thread). |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Tesco, its fine, also I am going to send you an e-mail, I just havn't gotten around to it on your sauce, I have to share my computer with my 2 sons and my time gets limited when I'm home. I'm with Gryphin, how do you surf during a meeting? tell us your secret.
Gryphin, Maybe its time you settled down with one?Cheaper... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif I wonder if the Growltigga really went to wedding in AZ, or if that was an excuse so he could get some practice in before the big match. just some ideas mac |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
mac, I wish I could settle down.
Growtigga practicing? Na, he doesn't need to. All he needs is to understand the game mechanics and his lawers mind will asorb the rest. With a capacity to become a solicitor, be very creative, and be funny, he is going to be very tough to beat. < wry grin >. None the less, I do intend to use the burned out hulks of his space ships to build a giant sculpture in memoriam to his vanquished race. Then again, he might use my hulks to make tombstones. |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
really looking foreward to the big "international showdown" just be sure to keep us all posted with updates.

Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Gee, you two are too busy bantering and missed the important point. Tesco, tell us more about your cousin! And since you are posting from Canada, is she in BC?
|
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Saxon, it is a matter of priortys, I pick the realty of multible dates over the fantacy of the unavailable. Tigga Bashing is easily achievable, tescos cousin is not.
|
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
As I said before I have never met her. But she is a British Soap queen or something and us N.A. saw her on Friends as Rosses second wife.
The English woman. The only reason I know this is that My father and Mothers side keep extensive family history. (A little excessive on my mothers side) |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
TS, I remember the episode but don't remember what she looks like, have to watch the re-runs somemore, other then that the only English Actress that made an impression was Elizabeth Hurly, now there's a fox for ya, drooooolll http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
Yep, I've been trying to get a good deal on a PC for my oldest, but with 3 kids in college, not easy, also my%^$#$$ remodling project is still not over and cost me more then planned. He has an old 133 but its pretty well shot, daughter away at school has her own so don't have to worry, but the 2 boys go to college locally so they are always on it, that's one of the reasons I don't play on line or PBW,or do modding, tiiimmme restraints, HOWEVER, seeing that I'm a loving father, and grown adult, I have already told them in very humble, calm, relaxed terms, that when The Gryphin and The Growltigga are done disecting each other in their challenge, that we are going to be starting a game and that other then school work, THEIR time will be reduced..After all its my PC not theirs.... Gryphin, we'll all keep an eye out, (us feeble ones here will even keep 2 eyes out) and see if we can find you something out there, maybe teach you how to use the "Twinkle" in return for the "Gryphin Position" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif The tigga will be jealous....ha, ha TS, ck your pvt mail just some ideas mac |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
mac, oh, there is a "w" in that word, ok, it's a deal, (of course, you may not want to know about the GP), but, it is your call. As for finding someone for me, how close to the bottom of the barrel are you willing to go?
Tigga jealous? First he will have to understand. (not nice of me to pick on him when he is gone), But it is fun. |

Don't tell any one but I am a Pats fan.
The other team is Green Bay... Yea that was a hard superbowl a couple of years ago. But joy joy. And May 31st is so close. I already have most of June off. Cannot wait. P.S. I think your ships staying smaller stragety works really well with your lack of # of ships. Do keep that stragety going for the game. |
Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
I'm not really a Rams fan, I'm a Browns fan and I just don't care for Bellichick (spelled wrong)
We had him for a coach and he was a bum.., Nothing against the Pats TS, happy they won, I just expected a better game out of the Rams after the year they had.. At least it wasn't a blow out like the majority of them have been in the pas Strategy is a mind game and tactics is the carrying out the deviousness for what the mind has concocted. Well, I am back from Arizona, landed back in UK on Friday morning and was sent to Boston by work Friday afternoon, just got back - I am buggered
AZ - interesting place - much better than I expected - Superbowl game was pants what have I missed? Am off to Madrid tomorrow for a week combining both work and pleasure (especially if I get to meet up with Ines Sastre - turbo grrrrrrrr) From a brief review of this thread, all I can say is: Tesco, you really could try and organise a mass Baxendale family reunion Mac, watch your pace maker my boy - I dont know what geritol is, is it like anusol? Guff - you practice SEIV 2 to 6 hours a night!!!!?? Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Er: I here by refuse to interpret your comment. I will state for the record that I belive I first saw the referance in my teen years watching TV or some movie. I have a superb command of the American language and was able to derive the meaning of the phrase when seen in the context that first started this subject. I must also note that the "Gryphin Position" is indeed one of my own design. My dates can confirm that for you. One might even share a decription if you like.
