Planet conditions red herring?

It appears to me that race growth is not connected to the planet conditions, nor does Environmental Resistance seem to do anything for a race's environmental conditions. Are these things used by any part of the game for any reason? I cannot find anything in the data files that uses them other than the fact that you can change planets to have better conditions and modify a races environmental resistance at the start of the game.

Do these things do anything?

Re: Planet conditions red herring?

As the planet's conditions worsen, the population growth rate decreases.

Environmental resistace is not quite what you would expect.
IIRC, 5% ER == 1% reproduction (traits).

Conditions effects are very pronounced if you reduce the reproduction rate of your race.
My piratey races for P&N get 0% growth under all conditions except for:
Optimal/Happy := 1%
Optimal/Jubilant := 3%

Even Good/Jubilant := 0%

I would like to propose a new weapon type for Religious Troops:

The HOLY HAND GRENADE OF ANTIOCHE

(Bonus Damage Vs any Rabbit Type Races...)

As a key participant in the development of the Bun Bun Warren, possibly the only rabbit type SEIV race currently in exsistance, I would not be in favor of that modification. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

typical, anybody else gets silly and they get to stay on the forum

I get silly and Tesco goes and banishes me to my own thread

Geo, you are barking, I think the holy hand grendae of antioch would be a great idea - however the reload rate would be very slow as you would have to keep on saying between firing 'One, turneth the hand grenade toward your foes' 'Two, removeth the pin from the holy hand grenade' 'three count to three, do not count to four nor counteth to two, five is right out of the question' etc
