Well I saw news about Philippines (muslim rebels took town Marwan and government's army attack there) and came to think if somebody have done Philippines OOB yet? It could be nice to see what kind of equipment they have;)...

Re: Philippines OOB?
Sorry typo (I meant Marawi)...
PS. Btw any Myanmar (Burma) OOB exist? |
Re: Philippines OOB?
I don't think anyone has done the OoB for either country - but I believe Myanmar's flag is in the game
|
Re: Philippines OOB?
Not in the game per se but there is a set of flags under Pictures/interface that has it......Not sure why I included that but it's been there for years. We don't use it for anything I recall

It's easy to find https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippine_Army build your own but it would be of limited use or interest to most except as a scenario |
Re: Philippines OOB?
Who knows Don;)... I think that WinMBT have many countries which have NEVER seen in any scenarios (at least here) imho. And it's always reader's responsibility what comes to Wikipedia information... Some facts can be ok some not. I'm bit too lazy and it could need much research work to get all facts right what comes to making OOB.
Summa summarum:if not any OOB for both nations exist, it's ok:). Just asking, nothing serious. Warhero |

Re: Philippines OOB?
Philippines would probably only be of interest to a scenario designer. In which case they could use green and use the scenario editing tools to massage green units to suit (it may even have the usual ex-USA light armour already) and then the clone unit function to copy the changes to the other units as necessary.
It would likely be for an infantry centred counter-insurgent scenario in any case. Map name and type could be edited to suit the scenario as well. If the flag is in there, scenhack can be used to change the unit ID tags as well, though not the V-hex flags. Or - just use an existing OOB as a base, like the one I did for Mexico some time ago, based on green I think?. Its in this forum somewhere. |
Re: Philippines OOB?
Hmm I remember Haiti/Dominican(?)/Mexico OOBs... Not sure about Colombia/Venezuela?
Don & Andy, I'm not mean that only YOU should do new OOBs, I mean if somebody in this SP community have already done/going to make them in future. I would like to get at least Philippines (and maybe Myanmar) added into Green/UN (for example) OOBs. |
Re: Philippines OOB?
Since I don't like "Wiki" and concerning the Philippines I can offer the following below as a start point. You need to take into account the Philippines have very little to no defense industry capabilities and almost 100% of their defense equipment is imported so the second ref. by far will be your best source of information under the database tab to the weapons transfer database section from 1946 - 2016.
http://www.armyrecognition.com/phili...elligence.html https://www.sipri.org/ This next not so useful and not as transparent as the site would lead you to believe. In other words the links aren't working now  but I'll stay away from the politics of it here since the current President has expressed himself and shown his character several times in the international press. http://www.army.mil.ph/home/index.php This is what I've been tracking in no particular order: http://www.armyrecognition.com/febru..._vehicles.html http://www.armyrecognition.com/janua..._platform.html http://www.armyrecognition.com/june_..._11506151.html http://www.airforce-technology.com/n...-korea-4739285 http://www.armyrecognition.com/febru...s_30402163.html That's all I have. Re: Philippines OOB?
There was this one made years ago. Not sure who valid or accurate it is.
Not sure who did these but it's something https://sites.google.com/site/spread...do/philippines |
Re: Philippines OOB?
I'm impressed he seems to have figured out the picklist structure.....not many take the time. I have not checked it in detail though but if anyone does add this be aware the picklist only go to 2020 and that there are SHP files and a LOT has been added to the SHP files since 2009 so be aware of that and follow the MODS guidelines and build a separate install for this DO NOT just extract this to your main game
