Up Dating All NASY Star Trek Races
 

In anticipation of the release of Gold, I will be revisisting all of the NASY Star Trek Races. There are many things that I want to changed, improve, and just out right fix.

So far, I have finished with the Cardassians (link) and have nearly finished the Dominion (Link)

NOTE: I would like to make all of the Dominion ships the same color, but I lack the skill to do so. If anyone here has such skill, I would appreciate any help you could spare. I don't mind remasking the set if I can get all the ships the same color.

Eventually, unless I get killed or something, I will revisit all of the sets and improve them. I don't like a lot of the images that I have used, and want to effect improvements that will make each set more unique and more interesting. I'm currently trying to do a Borg mod using ideas I found on NASY and others. I just did a post (march 4 00:06 I think) on the sci-fi crossover thread giving some of the details. Take a look and give me some feedback.

Okay, here you go, I tried to use the two ships you said as a base for everything else. I also resized the medium fighter since it looked too much like the large fighter. It is a rather dark shipset (as the two ships you picked were kind of dark). Also, I didn't do anyhting to the race, Small Troop or Large WP images. Hope you like!!!

I have a suggestion on the dominion transports:

In star trek, the dominion hired Karemma's to do their transporting work for them.

And they had a specific transport ship for that purpose...

The image updating should be completed by Friday for all of the races that are being improved.

The AI for all three Federation races, 8472, Breen, Cardassian, Ferengi, Son'a, will be done as soon as I get my copy of SEIV.

NOTE: It should be noted that there is already Gold AI out for the Klingons, and Romulans. (TDM Mod Pack 3) I am not sure about the Borg.

If no one steps up to bat for the Borg, I will make an AI for them as well. REMEMBER, I am not a strong AI person, so if you are good at it, and want to give the AI for any of the races I have made or compiled, please feel free to do so. Credit will be given to you directly for your work. Let me know if you interested @ atrocities@attbi.com

Well, I have completed my updates for the following races:

Borg
Cardassian
Dominion
Federation STNG
Ferengi
Klingon
Romulan

I have also updated the Federation TMP

I would like to thank everyone for all the imput and feed back you gave me. I want to thank Val for his help as well as Chris L. for his emails.

To the rest of you, I hope that you will enjoy this work, and I sincerely hope that you use these Star Trek Races that I, as well as many others, have worked so hard to bring you.

Unless something unforseen happens, I have no plans to update the races again. I may add one more race to the collection, but that is still up in the air.

I have spent over a year developing the Star Trek races, and frankly I am burned out now. All I want to do is update the AI for each, and play SEIV Gold.

The Son'a Command is my latest race and all it needs is an AI update.

The TOS and Rouge Fleet Races will only have a couple of minor image updates done to them.

The Illuminati, Starwolf, UFA, and Doppleganger races have already had there images updated. Their AI will be ready soon as well.

I often wonder with all of the ship sets and races now availible for SEIV, does anyone use any of the ones I have created, developed, or compiled? Or does anyone still play with the original races? I still use the original races as well as a many of the independant ones. I know I use a bunch of them in my standard games - also I'd say that they will be seeing quite a bit of use in the TDM and Sci-Fi Crossover mods - they were just recently discudssing the Borg in the Sci-Fi Crossover thread(IIRC), so maybe someone there will work up an AI. Nice work on the sets BTW, I really liked the Klingon set!

Have the races you have posted as updated been updated in the AI for the gold Version? I too play your Star Trek races and love them. They are fun to go up against.

Let me know on the AI. IF not, when they come out, I will look to update the AIs for gold for my own game. Ive already tweaked the Borg AI from what you did. I didnt like all the races getting borg tech, so I made it a race specific tech.

I have to say... I'm impressed by the caliber of work done on the ST series ships/mods by the folks here.

Being new, I'll have to dig deeper for some Bab5 shipsets/mods. Meanwhile I download while I await SE4G.....

Is this the same Wraith from the Armada 2 Babylon 5 mod?

You can find a whole bunch of the B5 races (if you just want ship sets and not the whole thing) on the following page:

Go to the downloads section and under the Graphic File Names, you can get all the races in one shot (Centauri, Minbari, Narn, Earth Alliance, Shadow, Vorlon, League of Non-Aligned Worlds, Hyach & ShogToth/Soulhunters). The Netral Races include only a small assortment of ships (Gaim, Llort, Hurr, Grome & Yolu). Still working on breaking down the LoNAW into their component races.
