I can't find proper topic in WW2 section, so I presume there is one joint thread of maps.
Here are maps from my scenarios - I thought it may be nice to add them independently as well. |
Spww2 maps!
Use this thread to post end-user created maps for use in WinSPWW2

Re: MAPS!
Just so you know.......
The next patch for SPWW2 will bring the map total up to AT LEAST 395 so those ones....if I don't already have them in the patch files will be renumbered to..... 392 393 394 395 However, there is a problem I have spmap346.cmt spmap347.dat 348 CMT and DAT 349 CMT and DAT 359 CMT and DAT so the DAT for 346 is missing and the CMT for 347 is missing. If you could post this I will renumber them and put them into the patch Don |

I was playing around with the Vehola today and ended up thinking about Crete and one thing led to another and here is a rough working version of a map around Maleme, Crete.....you have to look at it with the new contours only full mini map to really appreciate the complexity

For reasons I cannot explain I have started building a Venolo generated map of the Vimy Battlefield from WW1....sometimes you just do things. ( no.....we are not resurrecting the idea of a WW1 version of the game... just in case anything might think this is a teaser.....it's not....sometimes a map is just a map:) )
While experimenting with existing game terrain to simulate a WW1 type environment I hit on what I think is about as good as you can get... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/attac...1&d=1523644304 http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/attac...1&d=1523644526 Mud mixed with spatterings of forest ground cover add a bit of the second page lower grass and a touch of bare trees then add trenches and shell holes and voilĂ ...hell on earth. |

There is no longer a need to test this the problem was not related to the map after all , it was an game installation issue so anyone can use this if they like

Re: MAPS!
Help, please. I'm trying to find existing maps for the game for Seelow Heights and the Oder-Neisse. I've found one in the game maps but I seem to recall others. I've made my own but the lay of the flooded lands around the Oder are my problem. Searches of the Forum give me nothing. I don't want to reinvent the wheel. I can remember lots of things that never happened. Maybe seeing other maps is one? Can anyone help me? Danke.

Map 319 is the contours of the heights and very basic terrain. I had planned to do more but got sidetracked.
......and yes building the terrain with just the right amount of "stick" will be tricky. It really needs to be partway between bare earth and mud......A lot of shell holes and a combination of the various brown terrains including volcanic black sand might be worth experimenting with http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/attac...1&d=1618254974 ....similar in a lot of ways to that WW1 map above |
