Re: loading a downloaded image
Trying an experiment, loading a downloaded image instead of using OneDrive. This is from a scenario I am working on called Paw of the Tiger (an old ASL/SL scenario I am almost done converting).
Nope that did not work either, even if I resize an image it got bigger! There must be an easier way to load images. I saved the screenshot as a png and downloaded it, but even at 1 meg it's too big for this forum. When I resized the image (tried 75% and 50%) the image got even bigger! It seems I can only post an image from the insert image button in the advanced editor and when I do that it wants a url. So I just pasted in my OneDrive url for the screen shots I made. Don't understand why those don't display here? In OneDrive I just click share to generate the permalink. Here is the insert image function: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiSjv0_WD-X35xnlwARPdMaJYOVJ And here is the insert link function: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiSjv0_WD-X35xnlwARPdMaJYOVJ As you can see the insert image function does not work for me. No idea why. Also I can't contact 'tech' support here, when I try to login it says my password is incorrect. Which is plain wrong since I am obviously logged into this forum with the same credentials and would not be able to post! So Customer support is also broken for me. |
Re: loading a downloaded image
I moved this becasue where you originally posted it was off topic...now it's it's own topic.
Image size restrictions are an issue for me at times as well. With PNG's I have found if you convert them to a palette with only the essential colours used they can sometimes fit but not in the case of that one you posted to onedrive. The ones Aeraaa posts for his AAR's are WAY bigger than the 73.2 KB that Shrapnel reports as being the max size for a PNG yet they are being displayed. I am told that should not be happening.....yet it is and that link you posted https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%...%21265&o=OneUp works for me. I can see the image I have referred your problem with contacting customer service directly to Shrapnel. I have no answer for that, it will need to come from Shrapnel |
Re: loading a downloaded image

Re: loading a downloaded image
Yeah tried that (customer support page) and when I put in my username zovs66 and password it says "Password is incorrect" and yet here I am posting on the forum.
The Insert Image does not work, only the Insert Link. |
Re: loading a downloaded image
Don..... the insert image doesn't work for you for that screenshot becasue the image is too big...... the max size for as PNG is ( theoretically... ) 73.2 KB.......that image in the link is 437 kb..so nearly 6x too large and that is why you cannot put it in as an image to the post. How others have posted larger ones is a mystery

Re: loading a downloaded image
Don, thanks gotcha on its too large, still mystifies me how others can post images (downloaded) in their posts, I did try to scale or resize it down.
Tim, I don't understand why I can login to the forums to post and yet can't use the customer support for help? Same username and password gets me in here, but not the support site. |

Re: loading a downloaded image
Your forum information does not work at the customer support site. It is a totally different website. You must register to use customer support. If you registered when you ordered your game(s) that registration info will work. Forums uses totally different database.

Re: loading a downloaded image
Well I purchased both games (MBT & WW2) a long while back (dos days?) and had a different email account at the time and no longer have access to it.
So not sure what to do now? |
Re: loading a downloaded image
Go to our customer support site and create an account. Then you can contact customer support about your problem(s),

Re: loading a downloaded image
As an aside, DOS versions were not offered by Shrapnel Games. That was before we published the Camo Workshop products.

Re: loading a downloaded image
Yes, your correct I purchased both disks and they are windows installers.
Created an account. Thanks will create a issue. |

The new 300% zoom level does a nice job |
Re: loading a downloaded image
BTW if you want to add variety to the Tiger camo check out scenario 53 and the Icon list included with the game you can swap icons with scenhack

Re: loading a downloaded image
Ah thanks, wonder can I do the same with other tanks? In one of the east front panzer ones I did, some Pz IVf2 were grey while the rest were the camo color.

Re: loading a downloaded image
Ah I see..., very interesting, gives even more options to design scenarios….very cool
|
Re: loading a downloaded image
Very cool, already updated a couple of scenarios using both utilities as a guide. Very nice, spices things up a bit.
