Re: Another question
With that being said, I do prefer
2560 x 1440 Its the sweet spot to me. at 5120 x 2880 it gets a bit small and hard to read small things like menu items and such, but its awesome to see a vast stretch of map at that level. |
Re: Another question
To the game's credit in that its 20+ years old and Don and Andy have constantly updated it, its amazing it works on Windows 10 and 11, and on my massive screen size thing.

1920x1080 for myself.

Re: Another question
I'm running an ASUS VG32V1B SPEC: VA/WLED 2560 x 1440 RGB HDR Refresh Rate 48 - 165Hz Auto/Manual Adj.
With no game issues (Looks Great!) or otherwise. Regards, Pat :capt: |
Re: Another question
As far as I am concerned, 3440x1440.

Re: Another question
If Windex or some other type of window cleaner doesn't do the job, I just don't worry about it too much, but I have to give you a big thumbs-up for giving me the opportunity "to be the best I can be". That statement, "being the best I can be" is either a statement from Big 10 athletics or a statement from the marine corp., I can't remember, maybe both said it. I think the question concerning screen resolution is a viable one, and one that I would gladly answer, but my computer broke down a couple of years ago, so after I buy a new computer my screen resolution should be better than average.

Re: Another question
one has to play around with the settings depending on their setup. I have a couple platforms playing SP. Win10 is pretty straightforward. With my Mac, running Parallels to run a Win11 VM in a window, the default OS setting is 1664 x 1854 and I set WinSP to Windowed mode. One has to resize the window and disable the intro video sequence in order to avoid distortion. Once the size of the program window within the VM is figured out, it works flawlessly. Not bad for such an old, but modified program with roots going back to the MS DOS days.

Re: Another question
1920x1080 for myself.
I do know of some friends who have tried it at higher resolution found the UI scaling quite difficult to use (or easily read, especially for new players) at the high-end resolutions (above 1920x1080, that is) but I've no direct experience of this myself. If there are any custom solutions to allow for UI scaling, I'd be grateful to know...as it would help those friends of mine (or myself!) with what feels like constantly worsening eyesight. Cheers, Thinky |
Re: Another question
In windows you can set your Scaling and Layout to something other that 100% at very high resolutions. I think I used 400% for 5120 x 2880. But for 2560 x 1440 I just use 100% and the performance and the graphics of the game are just fine. I have not so great vision either, and both work just fine with my eyeglasses.
