2023 OOB Errors and omissions reports
 

I thought this year I would start a thread, especially for errors found in SPMBT since I have already had two reported in a PM within the first hour or so that I have already corrected in my master and I am betting, the way things have been going, they are not the only ones.

PLEASE NOTE: There were NO changed OOB's in the kerfuffle surrounding the release as changing OOBs when over a thousand DL had been made by midday is a recipe for more aggravation than we all need. A few OOB errors are better than crashing PBEM games

So to start off on the ones I know about to stave off them being reported over and over

• [1]Ukraine Formation 350 ( Captured Tank ) has a place holder unit that does not exist

I had rearranged units and changed those formations to use U777 but I am guessing my "save" didn't take for that one but all the rest did so if you are not PBEMing you can open up the OOB with MOBHACK and give Ukraine F350 one Unit 777

• [2]Ukraine Unit 728 has service entry 1/68

A newbie cut and paste error that still has the German start:doh: If you are not PBEMing you can open up the OOB with MOBHACK and give it a start of 1/123

If anyone finds more, post them here ( any nation) where I don't have to hunt for them months from now.

This is NOT for suggestions for new units or new items entering service just for OOB errors spotted after May 1, 2023. It just saves a lot of time to have them reported in one place....

NO NEED to turn this into a hunt just this is where you post if you find something

Error in Polish OOB obat02
Polish Unit 036 K2PL has a two AAMG in secound slot should be PKT CMG and WKM-B should be in third slot zpu-2 is not instaled on this tank obsolete weapon

It's too late now and the differences are slight but I had a Polish version of the K2 done but didn't put it into the SHP files. I think it was because it ended up looking pretty much like the Korean one and we don't know exactly what the Polish one is going to end up looking like anyway...... weapons adjusted in my master

100 mm gun mounted on unit #915 in Ukraine OOB (obat79) sounds like heavy machine gun.

Oops.....

If you do not PBEM open that unit in MOBHACK and change the sound given to the main gun ( 111 ) to zero and the game will play the default sound for a gun of that calibre. Then do the same for unit 233 (BTR-3E 90)set main gun sound to zero ( 0 )

That is how it is now in the master OOB

If you do PBEM then you'll need to wait for the next patch

OoB #79 Ukraine Unit 999 IED armed with a SAM (weapon 244 SAMP/T).
I would expect a class 25 explosives weapon

This is very strange. Last year the weapon was an IED and used w244 . I have no idea how or why the SAMP/T got put into slot 244. But the weapon IED is back in as W241 and Unit 999 now uses it in the master OOB

FW-189 can't found a photo of this aircraft in Bulgarian post 1944 livery so used German. from there

Kaproni Bulgarski KB-11 Fazan is intresting aicraft because was build based on engines intendent for LWS-3 "Mewa" and because Pland fall in 1939 and there were no hope for Mewa's from PZL. I can't find a post 1946 livery photos but that are this which I found

I also d'like paints this icons because of roots of this aicrafts preparing new icons for polish LWS-3 "Mewa" smaller in size of circa Lysander and also KB-11 (because the same engine) which I have a good plan's so in that version pre 1941 cross then with X marks and then in 1944-1945 roundel and for SPMBT with 1946 Bulgarian red stars and for Yougoslavia.

Yeah, I really concur with the above. EVERYONE that was involved with this patch just needs to "stand down" especially you 2 guys and in case there's any confusion as to whom I'm referring to Andy and Don that'll be you two.

I felt this was going to be a "**** year" due to the volume of information that was coming and it turned out that seems to be the case.

And that's NOT 20/20 hindsight as I clearly expressed that point of view many times this past year.

I'm not even conducting my normal review of submissions as I really just want to play the game which falls under the category of "barely" in the last year.

I even had the very rare pleasure of enjoying a drink with dinner last night, small victories matter.

So go for walks as they are wonderful for "decompressing", have a drink or two, shoot a gun and may I suggest a target with a "Patch" on it (At work the training dept has been known to put on my targets an angry looking Turkey that sometimes is giving me the "feather"!?! such as they just recently did.) see something of your country we found it amazing on our trip to Ireland how little some knew of their own country or just plain out do nothing for a while I've been doing some of that myself.

Burn out is NEVER a good thing no matter what's causing it. Lifes just to damm short to be "short circuited" that way.

I gotta get ready for work but other than that I'm not doing a damm thing-OK reading a book maybe!?! :D

A minor one:

France (OoB #06) VBMR-L Serval (Unit #677) currently has a carry capacity of 10.
I believe this should be 8. (larger VBMR Griffon has 108)

I'm not sure if this is an error, but the info tab in Mobhack shows Obat 13 U.S.M.C. in WinSPMBT v17 as the March 2022 version.

Oversight "error". It's the correct 2023 OOB but with it being passed back and forth I had updated the info line then a revised version was sent and I didn't think to double-check that the correct info was entered because I remembered that I had already gone through them all and set the correct 2023 date up

I sent him an last minute update to the USMC OOB a couple days before it was released.

The solution that will have the accuracy fanatics in a tizzy is to increase the Carry Capacity of the Marders to 108.

This solves the problem and it's how I just solved it in the master so if you are not PBEMing change Units 348 and 349 to 108 carry capacity
.. if you DO PBEM then remember to buy a couple extra vehicles or let the extra one walk
It's a GAME people sometimes we have to bend "reality" a bit. In reality either they pack in an extra man or as is SOP in Ukraine.... ride on top of the APC anyway were there is plenty of room for 8 men.

Very minor niggle:

Japan OOB#05 Apache Helicopters (Items 363, 364, 951) missed the "Apache speed consolidation" and are still speed 88 rather than the 93 most other nations AH-64s have.

LBM Error across various (but not all) OOBs (Canada, Greece, South Korea for example) - 35mm Oerlikon GDF twin AA gun - default LBM is now #30716, showing a ZU-23 - should be LBM 25023 for example

Questions -
US - wasn't the M-Shorad Stryker already in the game, featuring a turret with (not very practical) M230 Chain gun, 2xHellfire + 4x Stinger? It wasn't very useful unless you'd make an AA-version of the M230 (probably impossible d/t lack of vacant slots) so I suppose it was deleted?

UK - wasn't there a missile-armed version of the AW159 Wildcat heli in the game? (Martlet missiles - also gone IIRC)

The Wildcat is just used for recce and some SF support roles in the UK army - the naval version has missiles, but usually anti-shipping oriented. Army has some Apaches for anti-tank etc.

I think the USA shorad went to free up a few slots - the USA OOB has very few or none left. (If I can make extension OOBS for 2025+, that may change as they will drop the pre-2025 stuff).

It is a total mystery why those were changed. The LBM used for that weapon back in V1 is correct (5078) and it used that LBM right up until V8 in 2014 . It changed in 2015.......IDK why but 2015 was NOT a really "good year" for me

All OOB's that used the wrong pic have been corrected
