good job, shrapnel !
Do you all notice how many new people are nere in forum once SEIV gold was out ? It means more sales, more customers for Shrapnel. I am really glad that MM and Shrapnel did not deserted SE IV but put a lot of efforts in supporting. Now they reap dividents ! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif An excelent example to other companies, IMHO.

Re: good job, shrapnel !
I'm most excited about the new perspectives and ideas all the 'newbies' bring to the board. I'm looking forward to some different and challenging AIs, shipsets and mods down the road (if the Slannesh are any indication).

Re: good job, shrapnel !
Great work Shrapnel!
As you know, I unfortunately recieved a damaged CD, but with no hesitation, Shrapnel Games offered to send me a new one the next day! Do you think that would have happened at say, Sierra or EA? I think not. Thanks again! |
Re: good job, shrapnel !
When I purchased Aces of the Pacific the manual was ripped. I contacted Sierra and within 3 business days I had a new manual.
I do not know what they are like now... But i enjoyed the mag they published and they had some great games... And the mods for the aces series was really good for that time period. |
Re: good job, shrapnel !
I got Gold, I have not been to sleep in 36 hours, luckily, my wife is away for 4 days - unluckily, she has left me a list of chores to do which have now got a hope in hell of getting done
Shrapnel, I love you and want to marry each and every one of you |
Re: good job, shrapnel !
Nippy, you didn't happen to choose that name while still deprived of sleep did you?
Welcome aboard. |
Re: good job, shrapnel !
Nippy what you do is a turn then go do a chore and repeat until done.
|
Re: good job, shrapnel !
Tesco
I see you attended the grayhorse school of chores. :-) Now that im older, I just say the heck with it, the chores will be there another day. Of course, im single too, so i can get away with it. |
Re: good job, shrapnel !
Do you include personal hygiene and eating in that list of chores? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
The Last two mornings I've been up before 5AM and boot up to play yet again.... Since I'm a newbie and just discovering how the game operates, I'll play 20-30 turns to familiarize myself with different aspects of startup... then start again. A tech tree would be nice so that I could figure out how to get to armor, shields, et. al. Then again, there's the old trial and error method that Darwin seemed to think worked. |
Re: good job, shrapnel !
I was just going to applaud shrapnel and bump this up one....
but Wr8th, there's a tech tree in the research screen, and an option while starting the game to allow players to see it in its Entirety... If this isnt what you need then I dunno what to say... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif And again, congrats to Shrapnel for such a success... I was home two days straight playing that game *LMAO* "No! Bad Kaiser!...Now go back to work!" |

Not that I want to pirate them, but the protection is that extreme, that my Player needs about 20 minutes until it finds the right path. If I ever see an EA building, I guess I would run amok with a bazooka. |
Re: good job, shrapnel !
Thanks cynapse.... that would've made sense. (Doh!) Maybe I'll try spending more time in research and less in ship design.
I'm off tomorrow... I hope I remember to pick the kids up at school! |

Re: good job, shrapnel !
Wr8th! dont ever talk like that again! *LOL* Such blasphemy... Ship design is like, my HOME screen http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
Just kidden, actually research used to be a major thing for me, so I could get the jump on neighbor empires... but so far I have just played on HighTech for purposes of creating a few custom parts... So I know where to draw the balance line *lol* |

Re: good job, shrapnel !
Hey now. I bath every first saturday of the month. Thats good enough for now. :-)
As for the tech tree wraith, I like to dable with it alot more lately as well. Ship design too. Im trying to create a new component for Plasma Spheres like the Romulans use. My main problem, is finding a pic to display the weapon properly. Anyone got any ideas? |
Re: good job, shrapnel !
Have you looked into the Imagemod?
It's up to almost 1000 components, and 250 weapon animations. |

Perhaps I scaled back too much from my usual demeanor on flamewar forums.... gotta get rid of that etched retinal image of a clubbed baby seal. Actually, I use Louis Black as a partial prototype for my altered ego. |

Unfortunately, Godzilla has decreed that each of my chores is more of the 'strip the wallpaper from the living room, polyfilla and repaint' variety. Quite sad really. She goes off to take the lead role in "Jurassic Park IV" whilst I get to make major structural alterations to the cave This means that when she returns from savaging sheep on Saturday morning, I will be panicking and at the tail end of suffering from sleep deprivation, mild starvation and thirst whilst also smelling like a pot of moldy parmesan cheese. I suspect that my excuse that I was kidnapped by aliens is not going to hold much water. Someone play the funeral march http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif |
Re: good job, shrapnel !
Scatheing!!!
LMAO... Godzilla no less. I love it when the soda comes out of my nose unexpectedly. JP: Hey, some of those compsognathus' were cute, in a reptilian manner. |

Scatheing!!!

Listen pal, it is not funny. I will be sitting playing the computer on Saturday morning and the ground will start to shake every few seconds, there will be this deep thumping sound and I will notice that the surface of my cup of coffee will reverberate like a drum. This will get more frequent and then, I KNOW that something will be standing outside the front of the house, something terrible, something so horrifying that the sheer terror it generates will freeze me to the spot - I will be too scared to open the curtains in case that awful beady staring eye is glowering through the window Can you understand the abject terror this can generate ...especially when you realise that all the bravado you had yesterday about how you would not be worried about the flak for not doing the chores is going to evaporate with the mist.... it is not funny, it is really not http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif |
Re: good job, shrapnel !
Nippy, I think I know this girl
'spanking the monkey'?? steady on mate, I dont think our north american colleagues and other colonials are quite ready for that kind of metaphor - nor are the Moderators frankly http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif |
Re: good job, shrapnel !
So in essence Purina Dino Kibble comes in duck shapes.
Sorry Nippy. While I mercifully can't feel your pain (nor the fetid breath on the nape of my neck), I will acknowledge that it sucks to be you. |
