But uhh, it was to see if a picture worked and see if a Avatar showed up. I can't get the avatar to work right for some reason. Actually, I can't even get the thing to open up. I click on the "Select a differetn Avatar image" button and nothing opens. It's point to "javascript:void(0);" But I look at the source code and it looks like it's supposed to point to "javascript:void(0);" on click="launch_avatar_window();" So something is going on. Actually most of the new features on here including the poll's point to only "javascript:void(0)"... So anyone know what's wrong or what I could do?

What browser are you using? There might be a slight compatability issue. The avatar page loads fine for me.

I don't think that the "javascript:void(0);" is a problem. It just seems to be that way the code was written. I don't really know anything about the inner workings of this forum, so I can't really offer assistance.

Edit: I just tryed again, and it's working fine. Must have been my computer was running stupid Last night or something. Thanks alot of trying to help though guys!

You'll notice on the URL code that it gives you, it'll have [ URL= whatever.com/whatever.gif ] [/ url ] (But without the spaces) to get it to work you'll have to take off the "URL=" and the "/URL" that way it only shows "http://www.shrapnelgames.com/whateveryourimgfilenameis.gif"... Doing that SHOULD make it work. If not then uhh I don't know...

Deathstalker, Have you tried making any new Posts since you setup the avatar? I didn't start seeing mine until I did. Even hitting refresh didn't work. Not sure about editing a previous post. Maybe that doesn't do it either. Try a new post.

Georgig, the link to your avatar isn't working. You can upload it to Shrapnel using the file upload form in the scenario forum and then link to that. It might work better.

first you go to the "my profile" link below the new thread and reply buttons.Then you select View/Update profile, after that you scroll down to the avatar setting, and choose Select different avatar image, a new window will show. You can Choose one of the premade avatar, or fill in your own url in the textbox below, if you choose your own image, then after inserting the url, click on "set url", and then on "select this avatar", then close the window...or it closes itself...i forgot..anyway, get rid of that window.
Then scroll all the way down in your profile page, anbd select Update Profile...and your done.

The file your trying to use is either named wrong or not on the geocities server. It can't find c.h.a.o.s..gif

i can't see it, try removing the extra points in the file name, not all systems handle those points very well, rename it to chaos.gif or something

probably. if you right click on his avatar, copy/paste the URL, then paste it into your browser's address bar, it works. it also works when I come back (browser Cache)

That works, as long as you don't put the image's address in a new window, and don't refresh the page. As least that's what happened to me....

This is also a gratuitous post to test the avatar. Hey, everyone else has one....

Gaurav, You have to set which color you want as transparent in whatever program you are using to create/edit your image file.
