I\'ve been a baaaad boy.
I've been, well not exactly baiting, Apolytoner's.
Go read the thread and then come back and tell me to leave them alone. Sorry, AtP |
Re: I\'ve been a baaaad boy.
I like it. You're getting the word out without being too pushy or mean.
"Any flames in this message are solely in the mind of the reader." As long as that remains true, you should do fine. PS: You referred to SE4 as a two-man show. Aaron Hall is one, who was the second you referred to? Russell Saito for the music and old SFX? |

LOL!

Re: I\'ve been a baaaad boy.
Yeah, that's who I was thinking of. Isn't he with Malfador anymore?
And thanks for the feedback. Sometimes the folx on that board get under my skin and I'm not sure if I reply in an irritable fashion or not. PS I see you had no problem figureing out who I am on that board. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Edit: Added PS [ May 21, 2002, 03:27: Message edited by: Atilla the Pun ] |

We got your back man http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif .
Seriously though I don't want to star a flame war there guys, keep it above board if you post there. I, however, had to dispel some of their misconceptions http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif . |
Re: I\'ve been a baaaad boy.
Kudos to you AtP. I hate it when someone makes an argument based mostly upon snobbery. Who was that one guy to think that he had the full measure of SE IV after having only played the demo?
Customization is one of the key factors of this game and until you have at least explored its possibilities one should at least have the courtesy to withhold judgement till such time as you can make an informed decision. But I suppose that is what you get from those who value form over function. Damn sophists. |
Re: I\'ve been a baaaad boy.
I am sure MOO3 will be a good game, but it could never be as moddable as SE:IV due to it's necessity for a rigid story line. Maybe they don't want that in a game, but that doesn't make it a bad game.
Besides Infogrames sucks as a publisher, I don't trust them one bit (even though QS is a fairly good group of guys from what I have seen). |

Re: I\'ve been a baaaad boy.
The guy who argued most with Atilla expresed desire to actually buy SEIV but he does't buy anything over internet (does't want to publish CC details ).
If it is posiible to order SE by sending check, may be Richard should inform him. |

Sorry about that. It's a great game anyway, but it could be so much better. |

Re: I\'ve been a baaaad boy.
I agree the ministers are pretty useless if you really want to win and destroy the opponent. however it can be challenging, i forget who first mentioned this but this isn't my idea, to play with all but one area of the game under minister control and try to win still. For instance: Designing the ships only, or colonizing only, or controlling one fleet or one system, or finances/facility, or construction. Basically becoming one or a combination of the ministers and trying to win that way.
Also the AI manages to get very good, especially the TDM ones who have kicked my butt hard and good several times, when you are playing against it and not just using the ministers. |
