Greatest TV Themes

I will try and list as many as I can recall.

To listen to them, grab an MP3 player, Limewire - Kazza or other P2P program and get em.

EDIT: CRAP!

I forgot a few. Most notable Hawaii 5 O Damn IT!!!

There are so many... Please feel free to just post which one you like the most if yours is not on the list.

You mis-spelled 'Perry Mason' and you forgot some good ones, like The Twilight Zone, Star Trek Original Series, M*A*S*H, Get Smart, The Addams Family, Space: 1999, and at least some of the Babylon 5 themes, though each year was different. Season 1 and 2 were good themes.

Ya I know I misspelled a few things. Too late now. Your right, I missed a ton. I am kicking my self. They are all great.

Dont forget Nowhere Man.
A damn fine show with a badass theme song...

Also even though the show sucks majorly, Earth Final Conflict has that nice soothing arabian sounding music LOL

Re: Greatest TV Themes

The Incredible Hulk, and The Courtship of Eddie's Father. Both starring Bill Bixby coincidentally enough, although I don't think he had anything to do with the theme songs. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

EDIT: Ooo, and Lost in Space. That one was cool too. This isn't a good topic for a poll, there are too many. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Yeah, I'd vote for Bab5 - that music really set the grand theme for the program. Some other goodies:

Vids (Obscure, anarchic late night UK film reviews)
Ren & Stimpy (worth learning the guitar for)
Supergran (The Big Yin!)

Check out www.themez.co.uk - cool site.

Re: Greatest TV Themes

What about "The Jetsons"? Nice jazzy feel...

I agree about "The Addams Family" - very nice theme song.

If you want recognizable, how about "Gilligan's Island" (of course, there were 2 Versions of that theme song...).

Oh yeah, the theme to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (TV show, not the movie).

Great. Now I have TV theme songs running through my head... "WKRP in Cincinnati..."

Doctor Who!!!! My god man, how could you forget the good doctor http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

As for Babylon 5, the season that had the Shadows and the Centauri bombing the Narn homeworld in the opening credits had the best theme of them all (2nd or 3rd season).

Wow....

I loved B5 season 4's theme. I think because I loved S4, what with all the funky special effects bonanza, but the music was the real ticket that sold me on the series (I came into it late, a friend said hey, you might like this....)

Re: Greatest TV Themes

Tonto was with The Lone Ranger, not Bonanza, but the William Tell Overture is a good theme, too.

And for another really old western -

"Out of the night, when the full moon is bright,
Comes a horseman known as Zorro."

Re: Greatest TV Themes

Is 'Pink Panther' a TV theme? I don't think even the cartoon used the original theme, did it? If' you're just talking about 'theme' music without regard to whether it's TV or film then the field gets much bigger. The James Bond theme is really cool, for example.

Re: Greatest TV Themes

If we go into movies we'd need a new thread.

'Sides, the best movie themes are from Escape from New York and Total Recall!

IMHO, the best ever theme is "Pink Panther"
