At Last the journey is over...
Well, the patch was the straw that broke the camels back. After nearly 6 months of lurking and never quite mailing the check to shrapnel for SEIV Gold, today I simply could not take it any more....
I just completed a 10 hour round trip journey to Cary, NC to buy it in person. I just couldn't stand to wait another few days!! I'm a sicko.. Many, many thanks go out to Tim Brooks who went out of his way to meet me after work hours since traffic in Raleigh was far more impressive than Richmondl, VA. Well, I'm off to play!!! Ken |
Re: At Last the journey is over...
The Shrapnel staff will have to tell us if this is a 'record' for going out of your way to buy SE IV. Has anyone else driven cross- country for such a distance just to buy it? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: At Last the journey is over...
XM radio made the whole trip bearable... It's like having a TV in your car... XM rocks some serious ****!

From Africa? I must have missed that one.

Re: At Last the journey is over...
Saxon is from somewhere in Africa IIRC.

Re: At Last the journey is over...
But did he hop a flight to the continental U.S. to buy it, or did he buy it once he'd flown across for other reasons? It makes a difference, to me at least.

Re: At Last the journey is over...
IIRC, he was already in the US for other reasons, and just bought it because it was easier than ordering it from Africa. More a coincidence than a planned course of action, really. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Re: At Last the journey is over...
Saxon should offer up a good marketing/sales quote something like....
"The dominance of SEIVG as a 4X game meant that I had to buy it before I left the country. Waiting even a few weeks more, would have meant the loss of many countless hours of enjoyment." Then get him to agree to it and sign. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Cheers! Trajan [ August 15, 2002, 15:16: Message edited by: Trajan ] |
