Deathstalker's Mount Mod (se4Gold Patch2)(1.78)
(sequestered in the download forums or use the link here) Updated!! 1029543853.zip This is the 'first' Version of the Deathstalkers Mount Mod for GoldPatch2. (Future Versions may be released as 'ideas' come to mind ) Added Mounts: Mounts by Tech level and Weapon Specific mounts. Shield Mounts (Hard, Multi-Phasic, Barrier, Crystalline, ) Torpedo Mounts (MarkIV and Broadside mounts) Fighter Mounts Low Grade Weapons Mount Psychic Mounts Religious Mounts Crystalline 'Grapeshot' Shard Cannon Mount General re-organization of Mounts. I just downloaded it. Does it work with any MODS? can I add it to the TMD-MODS?

Yes it will work with the TDM mod, you just have to rename the 'CompEnhancement.txt' that is already in the Data folder within the modd and place the new 'CompEnhancement.txt' file from my modd into that folder. This way you can change back to the original modd at will.
With other modds it may or may not work, depends on what they (the modder) has included as mounts. (ie, the Devnull mod already has a CompEnhancement.txt that has new mounts that work with specificly with the modd). {You could always open the two 'CompEnhancement.txt' files and copy/paste what you like/find that works. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif } |

Yep, I have always thought the Crystalline weapons were vastly underpowered as opposed to say the Organic ones. This is a partial 'correction' IMO. I am working on mounts for all the racial techs, crystalline were just the easiest to come up with in the way of ideas. Other possibilities: Organic Armor mount, (structure increase) Organic Weapon Mounts (damage/to hit increase due to 'Genetic Alteration'). Crystalline Engine Mount (or organic, to simulate solar power or a geneticly altered creatures innate superiority). Your mount mode is working well on v1.78,no errors, played 3 games with it. Used it in TDM mode:eek: .Im really looking forward for your teck mode to work with this too. A suggestion, on vechicle size, there was a mode I think ( d mode),to have special ships to have internal shield regeneration & combat sensers %, How about this?. Noticed a few bugs...
Shield mounts can only be applied to regular shields, not phased shields - did you intend this? (Does shield generation modifier not work for phased shields or something?) All of the Crystalline shield mounts have the same two-letter code. Just tested, regular Phased shields V have 375 points, with mount they have 656. Just tested in High Tech starting game with a light cruiser and one Phased Shields V with the 'Hard Shields' mount. Ed, were you using a modd? It's possible that is changed the Phased Shield family number (should work for any shield in the '11' family) Noticed a few more technical errors myself (both Torpedo mounts have same name). Will spruce up and add a few new mounts and release sometime soon. As to new religious mounts suggested, the 'Roman Sword' type one for PD sounds interresting. Unfortunately we cannot affect ECM, Scanners or Supplies. (only way to affect ECM is to add a To Hit bonus for the weapon, therefore 'lowering' enemy ECM.) Sounds like some great stuff. As soon as I'm done with the next few days of school, I am SO back into the thick of things with SEIV. Your mount mods have always been a joy to play with, DS!

1029893786.zip This is pretty much the final Version for now (yeah, I know, I've said this before. Only thing I am still working on is Capital Ship Mounts for weapons only affecting the 2 Rate of Fire weapons). Added: 5 levels of Miniturization for Components and Missiles. With the new SEIV patch, does the AI take advantage of the new mounts? Or do you still have just AI specific mounts only? Because I am not really sure what the significance of the new patch is... However, I can that everyone is quite excited about it. Please fill me in.

Thanks " Devin As long as the AI has researched the required tech it will use the mounts that are availible to it (still the biggest it can fit on a ship though. If it can use and Extended Range mount or a Pulsed Mount on a ship it will use a Pulsed Mount due to the fact that it is farther down the list in the .txt file, not because it is a better mount). The beauty of the new patch is the 'Mounts by Tech' and 'Mounts by Components'. Now we can make mounts that are for certain components only (ie Torpedo only mounts or the Computer Mount AJC made for his mod). The 'Mount by Tech' means we can have 'Researched Mounts', you only have access to the mounts after you discover 'X and X' research, you could have specific mounts that you only get after discovering TWO racial techs! (ie an Organic Crystalline Mount that does massive damage or something). Also the other good thing is that you can now make 'Roleplaying Mods'. By this I mean you could make a 'Mount Mod' that HEAVILY favors Organic tech, make the weapons/Shields/armor etc massively more powerful than anyone elses tech. Then set up a game with only the AI using it (or a certain player who is the 'uber-badguy' in a PBW game) and play away. You could use this to really make an AI a challenge. (easy way would be to allow the AI's ships have earlier access to the mounts, ie Large mounts on Frigates, Heavy mounts on LC's and the Massive used on BattleCruisers. Make sure the size of the mounted weapon is not too big though, otherwise the ship won't have enough weapons!!) Well, I've babbled on enough here but this is just 'some' of the potential of these new options. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Future options I wish for: 1)ability to affect seeker damage/range etc by mounts. 2)ability to add new damage types in addition to the weapons normal damage ('boarding parties only', 'quad shield damage', 'engines only' etc.) 3)ability to affect cloak level and sensors by mount. 4)ability to affect armor abilities (regeneration, emissive or crystalline) 5)ability to allow 'stacked' weapon mounts and other mounts (ie a 'Hardened-Extended Range-Spinal Mounted-MarkIV Torpedo Launcher'). And allow which mounts are 'stackable' and which are not by a line of 'yes' and 'no' (or true/false). |
