Re: Victory screen
Does anyone else remember the disapointment when they won their first game and saw the victory screen? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif I was expected a big parrade in my honour. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif Of course since I've come to realize the MM's time was likely better spent making a decent playable game than with jazzy graphics.

Re: Victory screen
I've never finished a game, so I've never seen that. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Re: Victory screen
Yes, I haven't seen any game yet that does have a good victory celebration. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
Question is what do we want. Victory bands, fireworks, wedding the daughter of your most vicious enemy.... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif |
Re: Victory screen
MOO2 had a good victory celebration movie.
|
Re: Victory screen
Would have liked to have seen it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
Moo2 didn't work well on my computer. Been a Mac user since 1981 (my first was the Apple II+), and the variety of games was one of the reasons for my changeover. I do miss its ease of use, though. |
Re: Victory screen
Windows isn't hard to use, you know. That is mostly propaganda. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Re: Victory screen
Of course the gameplay is of more importans than a funny screen, this I know too.

Re: Victory screen
Mac's don't suck. They are the most user friendly computer operating system/hardware platform in the world. Of course, some of us dislike that Macs don't come, by default, with mice with a second button. From what I understand, Apple figures that second mouse button would be too confusing for its Users.
In fact, I've heard they are thinking of getting rid of the keyboard as well. That's way too many buttons for most of their Users as well. Instead, they are going to put the letter of the alphabet on a bit wheel that spins on the screen. You'll use the mouse to click on the letter you want. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif |

Yeh, I didn't like the one button mouse either, so I bought a trackball with 4 buttons and was able to hook it up directly to my keyboard with my regular mouse and two joysticks. This was pre-USB... That wheel bit seems a bit wierd though...(JOKE) [ September 01, 2002, 00:56: Message edited by: tbontob ] |
Re: Victory screen
Talking about keyBoards...my favourite was a upgrade to my Apple II+. In 1981 Apple only made a keyboard which outputted only capital letters. (this was pre-IBM's first [Edit personal] computer which was only a glint in its eye). Yeh, I know it it's hard to believe. So I upgraded it to do both. In addition the keyboard had a unique feature of being able to macro it as well as change the layout of the letters/macros with the pressing of a key. There are keyBoards that do this now, but in 1981, it was revolutionary.

Re: Victory screen
Moo2 indeed has a BEST victory celebration I ever sa in computer game. BTW, there is a Moo2 Version for Mac. Incidently, it is the only one with all known bugs fixed ! Windows Moo2 1.31 is a beta-release by comparison.

Re: Victory screen
Saying that Macs are a lot easier to use than Windows PCs implies that Windows is hard to use. It may be more complicated (cause it has more features), but that doesn't make it hard to use. Well, except maybe for people that are completely computer-ignorant. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Re: Victory screen
I always thought that extra hammers being saved for the next construction was a feature. It seemed like something too basic to be a bug, esp. with the patch. I never got into MP with MOO2, so maybe that's why I didn't realize about the bug. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: Victory screen
hammers saving per ser is not a bug, the bug is extra free money that you get from the saved hammers.
It was fixed in Mac Version. |
