OT: Football season.

Ok, I'm just making this for the heck of it. It's just for fun to see who you think will win each division.

If you feel like it you can post the reason why you think each team will win their respective divisions. You don't have to though.

long ago, on a thread far, far away... there was a discussion about an se4 football game where the only weapons were tractor/repulsors and alegance subverters. only the 'ball' would be able to be subverted, all the other ships would have MCs.

did anyone ever do this?

Oh, I thought this was a thread about *real* football. Not this weirdo game with full body armor and a ball that is not a ball http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif .

Nevermind, I voted anyways. BTW, the Vikings will surely win http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif .

PS: How come HSV, Manchester United, FC Barca and Bayern München are not on the list? Oh, shoot... forgot that we are not talking about football here.

you could put a pole up for the World League, though the season is over. Which begs the question: Do any of you european guys watch the European American Football league?

I know Northern Ireland likes the Bills,,,, Strange that...

Also I know that in Ireland and most of England you can hit the Bev, Charlie and Dave Birds...

I have tested this... With a cousin in Ireland... They Subscribe to Bev and watch NFL and NHL ...

Ya, I love American Football (my favorite sport) but you Aussies are crazy!!! I don't know much about the rules to that game, but no pads and hard hitting, ouch! Also, Rugby is another tough sport, but at least American Football has its roots from that sport.

Rugby, Aussie football, and American Football are probably the best sports humanity has ever invented in my opinioin.

P.S. Hockey and Lacrosse are my second favorite.

Re: OT: Football season.

The only way to follow football here in Belgium is the NFL site on the web. Anyway, i started playing american football here in belgium 2 years ago. (starting my 2nd year) We have an amateur league with 9 teams and 2 other teams that will enter the competition next season. I prefer this sport over soccer any day as it's more tactical IMO than soccer. (I do play soccer too) But that's just an opinion. Last season, my wive even dared to look while i was on field :-) Took her a few games though and she still has the occasional shock when i'm at the bottom of a pile of linemen but the "worst" injury i had so far where a couple of bruised ribs. Annoying yes, painful, not really.

My first season, i started as RDE although i only weigh around 84 k (185 lbs) and thus am much lighter than most tackles opposing me but i'm much quicker so i can always run to the outside and go after the running back or the QB. 1 thing is sometimes did wrong was i ran so fast to the outside, i ran past a running back that was just running this way. Then you hope the secondary is watching your back otherwise you get burned bad.
