One about atmospheres
Hi everybody.
I'm looking for a thread about the most common atmospheres in each type of planet, but I don't find it. Could somebody help? Thanks in advance. |
Re: One about atmospheres
I'm pretty sure the atmospheres are evenly distributed in the standard game, with the exception of "none" which shows up all over the place as moons but only rarely as larger planets.

Re: One about atmospheres
Actually, Oxygen and Hydrogen are the 2 most common atmospheres, followed by None, and then Methane and Carbon Dioxide.

Methane is my favorite too. I do not like some CO2 planets - dull and dirty yellowish. [ October 17, 2002, 13:21: Message edited by: oleg ] |
Re: One about atmospheres
I'm curious, in PBW what atmosphere/planet types seem to be the most favorite?
Being a contrarian, and picking the least favorite atmosphere/planet type (except maybe ice, which seems to be a disadvantage however you slice it), might be a nice advantage in the early game. |

Someone did an analysis of the appearance of planet types and atmospheres in the standard game a while back. |

You don't have to worry too much about the other player reselling your tech, since he isn't going to give it away for free. There is only one other colonization tech that he could get in exchange for it anyways. |

Re: One about atmospheres
Methane/Ice and CO2/Ice are one of the rarest planets in the game. I mymself play Methane/Ice and i can tell that the payoff is that most of your planets are huge and/or rich.

Re: One about atmospheres
That's odd... I tend to play with gas CO2 planets and I seem to find plenty of breatheables. And being gas giants, they're all medium or larger. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: One about atmospheres
Gas have CO2 and Hydrogen planets in abudance. methane too, if i remember correctly.
