...So is this the SEIV real-time game we heard of before? OR something else?

Re: Secret Project Alpha

Don't know. The only ones that would know are the ones involved in it, and Shrapnel employees. And neither of them can say anything about it. Anybody who says what it is is guessing, lying, or vioalting a non-disclosure agreement. That's why they disguise the name in the forums, so they don't get a lot of questions they can't answer. There is no reason to think it is the new SEIV game though. Shrapnel has a lot of stuff in the works. They always do. Of course there is no reason to think it's not the new SE game either. We'll just have to wait and see.

Actually it's just a forum we used to communicate with the Austerlitz beta testers prior to announcing the game, I need to get rid of it.

Besides if you Subscribe to the FRAG newletter you will hear about Aaron's new project...

That is how Shrapnel names their forums before the announcment is made of what the game is going to be. The DO beta forum used to be called that.

Arrrgggghhhh!!!!

I want more info on the new Space Empires real time strategy game!

Richard November 5th, 2002 01:35 AM

Re: Secret Project Alpha

The info is going to start leaking out soon enough http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif . Actually I gave Aaron a really cool idea Last week on how to add some additional fun to the game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif .

So far only Tim Brooks and I have seen Aaron's new pre-alpha game, but you'll hear the first droppings of info when the next FRAG newsletter comes out http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif .

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">A brief blurb concerning an upcoming project by Malfador Machinations. It sounds interesting, but that's all I'm going to say about it here. In part because I don't know if it's kosher with Richard to reprint the article or give things away concerning it.

Moral of the story, Subscribe to the FRAG! Newsletter. Otherwise, Sarge might get mad. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">*shrugs* There are some things that are exclusive to the newletter. It happens to be free of cost, but in return for your subscription, Shrapnel Games knows your email address, and can get some idea of how many of its customers are interested in receiving news about Shrapnel's various projects.

Suffice to say, it is worthwhile to both parties if you sign up for the FRAG! newsletter. I am not certain, however, if it would be as beneficial if everything in the newsletter were posted on the website. Articles would seem harmless enough, though, after time. Again, why we are asking for clarification from Richard on the matter. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Agreed.
But, something to keep in mind:
SFC3:The next gouging, has just been released by Taldren. Most fans of SFC who were originally drawn in by the connection to SFB are seriously less than pleased that the marketing geniuses at Taldren have decided to bleed yet more money from an only slightly different game, with even fewer options than the previous game had.

This represents a serious opportunity to show off a game that those players (like me) would be seriously interested in hearing about, even if it is just shy of 6 months from being available.

But all that logic aside... I'd love to hear more about this game! (Even having been one of the fortunate few who chose to sign up for the valuable and informative (does sucking up get me any bonus points?) FRAG newsletter.)

Ragnarok, Trajan has it almost correct. It is chilled potato soup. In some places in France they do serve it luke warm. I love it chilled. The luke warm, you can keep.

Yeah, if you are not into potato soup, it isn't a big deal! Chilled or luke warm.

Oh, see now I thought it sounded good until you said it's served cold. I love potato soup, but I've never had it anything but piping hot. Typical American, I like my food hot and my beer cold. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif I guess I can't say I don't like Vichyssoise though since I've never had it.

On a side note, if you don't like cold soups, you shouldn't try Borscht.
