Anyone seen some alien heads?
 

I remember someone posting a bunch of alien race pics a while back but I can't seem to find them through the shrapnel search engine.

Does anyone remember the subject or somesuch?

I seem to recall Atrocites did a several neutral races based on Star Trek.

I'm working on a new race that is genrally plant-like (asparagus, broccoli, etc.). I have tried to make my own Version with Moray, but it I'm not entirely satisfied with it. Has anyone seen any images on the web that might work?

The beings in question - the Verdurans - come from a rock homeworld with a carbon dioxide atmosphere. Have you ever read David Brin's Uplift series? I was thinking something like the Kanten. They are like a small tree or shrubbery with dark green leaves (with silver tips). They have no eyes, and they walk on root-like appendages. Aside from that basic description, feel free to be creative.

Ok, I really like these pictures. They have inspired me to compile a race image replacment mod. This mod replaces all 20 stock and 6 neutral races images. No ships are replaced, and no AI files. I may release a revision at some point with modified AI files just to change the bio descriptions so they match the pictures better. I tried to use ones that came close. And I tried usign ones that were consistant in quality and texture and whose coloring fit their shipset. I took some from the file Ragnarok uploaded and some from the one Fyron uploaded. Mostly I got rid of the ones that look cartoonish. Those were cool too but they looked out of place with the other ones. Put it all in a zip with the folder structure suitable for use as a mod.

geo - i see my Taera racepic there. it appears tho that you only have the ver.1 racial pic, and now its on like ver.5 or so. you might want to get the new pic for your set, look at Devnull mod thread.

I kind of liked the Norak looking like an ultra religious knighthood splinter group from Earth. On the other hand, the Ukra-Tal need to be given a much more bio-engineered look.

Overall though, I like.

Star Trek Neutrals

This is Version 1.0 It has the orginal neutral races as well I think.

I will post the newest one with 20 star trek neutrals later on. I have to clean up the AI files as they have been set up for the ASTmod.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Taera. I tried not to use too many human looking pics. I guess a lot of them are humanoid, in shape. That's fairly common in sci-fi in general. Having no artistic talent myself I could only work with the avilable source.

Regarding the Taera in the mod. Is it one that I named as one of the races or do you mean in the folder with the number entries? I didn't mean to include that folder with the mod. That was the source folder that Rags uploaded.

geo, all those changes are absolutely great! They fit the races. Images 06, 37, and 37a are copyrighted, though. I think acouple others are coptrighted as well. But I am not 100% sure, about those. Just thought you should know.

They are probably all copyrighted mlmbd. I couldn't find anything on any specfic images though. If there is a name I am missing somewhere I can list them with credit or remove them in a futrue Version if there is one.

Besides the Taera, Dra'kol and old Pyrochette race portraits there are other pictures that had already been used as race portraits of the Hedres, Protoss and Taeron.
