On the PBW site there is a new game starting.
Its called NGC:Proportions.
It's directed towards those who want's to play with the MOD proportions which alters the game.
(Please, someone fill in - how does it alter the game??)

Some of us who has joined so far has never played with a mod before. And I have only finished one single SEIV PBW game, altough I'm participating in many so perhaps I've left the Newbie stage recently?

Newbies to SEIV, Newbies to Mods, Intermediates and experianced players who wish to share their knowledge;

The game says it uses Proportions 2.5.2.2, but this mod is not listed in the PBW Mod Listing. Where do I find this mod, or was the listing in the game description in error??

Thats the site, but I'm thinking of using 2.5.3.1 since its the newest, PBW just hasn't gotten around to using the newest one yet. I'll ask which Version everyone wants to use once we fill the Last 3 slots.

This is the first game I'm hosting, so be a little patient with me, I'll probably make mistakes.

Rutha, I don't think of this as my game, its everyone who joins' game. I just happen to be the host this time around.

The best way that you can learn the mod, is just to play it in single player before we do it in PBW. It alters the game ALOT.

Never played proportions either. And I don't play single player.

I've played Proportions in Single Player a few times. I would not say that I have by any means mastered the changes to the game.

I would recommend that Neutrals be dropped from this game. Since there are so many players already, they seem kind of superflous.

Also, let's make sure there are no duplicate ship sets. Nothing drives me crazier than that!

Sure Captain, the more the marrier. Proportions seems like it alters the game so much that even old schoolers will be like newbies until they figure it out. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Rutha, you might want to search around these Boards, I've found lots of good strategy for proportions on this board, most from PvK(I think he made the mod), so their is a wealth of information out their.

It doesn't take all that long to learn Proportions. Just don't think it plays the same as unmodded SE4. Don't do the exact same things you would do there. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

tell me about it. When I first started playing against the computer I went ahead and did the usual colonization rush. Little did I know, colonies don't produce sqwat at first. Next thing I know, I'm trying to fend off hords of destroyers from the computer.
