New Ship Set - Orion Empire
 

Well I just kind of felt a flash of creativity for a few weeks...so much to my wifes dismay I went downstairs...and vanished.. So its been awhile since I made a ship set - the Dominion Imperium amazons was the Last time..

Anyway this is the latest . feedback is welcome!

I did make a slight correction to the Light cruiser mini - it was slightly off center in the mini portrait , it needs to be shifted to the right slightly...so I will post that fix today.

Out of curiosity - did you like the race portrait or should I make the race portrait a single image of the woman or the man?

My original thought was to try to represent the Male and Female aspect of the race.

Neostandard? is that the other ship classes some of the other sets have? like corvetts, and other size classes? I hadnt really considered it. Although I could if I had the information as to whats needed to complete a neo standard set..

IF you want to create a page for it - sure! thats fine. The set is posted on the PBW also.

The AI .. I am still running it through its paces and it will probably get tweeked over the next few weeks.. however it should be at least a competent as the standard AIs in Gold 1.84.

Well, I could ask them to do the same thing... sure, it is the Terrans I'd be overwriting, but this is a pre-Gold game so I doubt most people would care - once this game ends, I'll probably delete the original SE4 from my computer and give the CD to a friend, and I imagine not too many other SE4 players plan to start any new pre-Gold games soon http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Okay - I posted the fix in the mod forum at the same link as below in the original post.
its now Version 2 (Orion-v2)

.. the light cruiser mini is now in correct aligment and I changed the kamakazi attack ship's strategy. (btw-its not a true kamakazi- it just goes for point blank range.)

I wonder if it would be a good idea to push all of the ship set developers to go ahead and add additioanl NeoStandard ships. I have been working on some new ships for the sets I have out, but I am not really motivated at the moment to get it done.

I don't think that pushing them to do so would be good. A simple request is fine, but if they don't want to make extra ship pics, don't force them to.

Very nice ship set! I like that it has two sexes in the population image, and mini_ size images that get relatively larger.

nice set! looks very well done, for whatever program you're using. The ships look awesome together, no boring repetitious similarity. Great.

latest update 4/2/2003 - Modified the cruiser mini and portrait because it was hard to distinguish a difference between BC and CA ships during game play..

Warn me if any new Version occurs. If that is the case, it would be great to ban all capital letters from your file names (easier to manage when put on a web site).

The design file, construction files and the research file - in fact Almost all of the AI files are not standard.

I have been working with the AI files and they are pretty much done - I just didnt bother to post the new ones. I Didnt think anyone would be interested. I will post the latest update if you are interested in getting the final copies of the AI files.
